I didn't mean resistance because of her condition, but resistance in general to him wanting sex from her. I still believe he lured her up to the room under pretense of something that had nothing to do with sex and once there started to attack her. And she fought. Sorry I wasn't clearer!

I agree. I think after he got her pants off she continued to fight and was killed. Her death prevented the rape. I think he's done this many times before and gotten away with it. IRRC several girls in Aruba went to Beth's attorney with tales of rape and being drugged but were afraid to give a statement.

Not sure where I read it now, but I read that if robbery is involved he could be sentenced to life due to aggravating circumstances.

Thank you for that. I heard them mention aggrivating circumstances based on his having stolen her vehicle. I read her money was gone too (my paraphrase) but I couldn't know where to re-find that news article. sigh. Who knows what to believe of what we hear or read in news. Beginning of most cases have reports changing as they go along.

Personally, I believe I see it in the video in her right hand when she follows behind him after he picks up the key at the counter. If she is holding it, she is carrying whatever it is the way a woman holds a clutch-type purse, whether it is a clutch or not. Only could see it when her right arm swings once, back and forth while she is following. Then, she moves both her hands in front of her body, and appears to be doing something with whatever she is holding.

I'm still stunned about the further information provided regarding her death due to a broken neck, although I've read it was due to a brain hemorrhage also.

Several lawyers were asked if they had ever been involved in cases where the victim received a broken neck from another human and both said no and then it was stated that to break one's neck (outside military type training) would require almost car accident force.

That's some heavy duty rage there...

He's a very large man also.

FWIW, I think her family is still in shock and will be for quite some time....after a death of a child that happens...when her father comes to real grips with this we may see a level of anger not shown yet....his grief has overcome him now and anger will set in at some point......my child died due to an accident and I can not imagine if someone had killed him on purpose....I really really feel for this family that her body was so mutilated in this horrible way. May she rest in peace.

I'm the same way, Cher. My husband doesn't know what to do with me sometimes. LOL

If Stephany was truly a lesbian, she probably never considered that Joran posed a sexual threat to her. Her mind probably didn't think on those terms. Poor dear girl! I like to imagine Natalee waiting for her with open arms as Stephany crossed over. Laci, and all the others, too.

The only thing I saw re; her right hand in the video of them entering the hotel is what appeared to be a bracelet on her right wrist. Both her hands appeared to be empty to me. I'll have to take another look I guess.

The clerk also noticed her long hair. when she went into the room her hair was pinned back. in the video of her in the parking lot I thought it looked like her hair was down, but thats not very clear video.
do we still have alink for that?

Her hair was down when she was behind the hotel door as she enters, and I believe I read that she evidently pinned it up in bun which they could see from the video when she follows behind him after he gets the key at the counter.

Oh maybe I wasn't clear either. I too believe she naively went with him for purposes other than romance/sex. So tragic. I sincerely hope he never sees freedom again he's such a danger. My opinion since he hasen't been tried yet.

I'm thinking not that he wanted to sell her his laptop, but that he wanted to show it to her. Maybe she said she was going shopping for one and he said you should get one like mine--come over for a minute before you go home & I'll show you all the cool things it does. They seemed to be talking a lot when they left the casino and could easily have got on the subject of computers. She gave him a ride to his hotel & went up to see the computer. There may have been a pop machine in the hall--who knows. They drink the soda and play with the computer. She gets ready to leave, has car keys in hand--key ring around right index finger. He grabs her and the fight begins--rips keys from her hand cutting the finger--open wound. I think she fights back and he continues to pummel her-she falls, he removes her jeans to get her wallet-she is too hurt to fight him. Maybe there isn't as much money in the wallet as he hoped for and he gets pissed. He grabs the closest thing--his tennis raquet and starts hitting her with it. She curls into fetal position and he delivers the final blow to her neck. He wants everyone to think she's alive before he leaves, so he changes his clothes--throws the white blood spotted shirt over her and goes out for the coffee ruse. He comes back drinks some coffee and makes toast, packs and leaves with whatever he found on her for money and maybe that missing necklace. He takes her car keys and leaves room keys on table so clerk thinks "his girl" has them and wants to sleep in. He leaves in her car and dumps it.
