Sorry if this has been posted already, but I haven't been reading much today as I actually had to do some real work lol.

Wouldn't his so called confession be easy enough to research? For example, if he was indeed seen in the convenience store purchasing coffee and bread during the timeframe stated, along with the camera outside the room filming him coming and going, and then look at whether sites were being accessed on his computer during that timeframe, indicating she was indeed looking at stuff on his computer while he was out of the room?

I know that doesn't mean that's why he killed her, but it would at least lend some credibility to what he was saying about what she did and why he went into a rage?

OT: I saw where Natalee's parents are divorced. Were they divorced when she went missing or is their marriage another casualty of JVS?

Hi strawberry,
Natalee's birth parents were divorced a long time ago and her mom was remarried to someone named Jug Twitty (correct me if I'm wrong on that name). She and Jug divorced after Natalee went missing. I imagine their marriage was another casualty of JVDS.

Nancy Grace is on. "Van der Sloot killed again" "Van der Sloot high on marijuana during murder? "Van der Sloot to return to murder scene with cops". Bombshell tonight: "the "killing machine" van der Sloot confesses! Stephany found out he killed Natalee."

Natalie's mother and step-father got divorced in 2006. I heard she had changed her name from Twitty to Holloway.

In 2006, Beth divorced Natalee's stepfather, Jug Twitty, and changed her name back to that of her former husband, Dave Holloway.

Thank you that's what was confusing me. I see her mentioned here a lot, even in the Caylee column (Comparing her grace to CAs well, not so much) as Beth Holloway, and today I read an article calling her Twitty. Interesting she changed it back to Holloway and not to her maiden name. I can understand why. When I divorced I would have gone back to my maiden name in a heartbeat if it weren't for my daughter having my husband's last name. Maybe when she's grown I will...

ETA: thanks you too Colombo

Jean Casarez says that the Colombian police are not looking for any women. I just checked the Bogota newspapers and they have barely reported the van der Sloot story. There are no stories at all about this.

This does not mean they aren't doing it, but it's not "out there" in the local media in Colombia.

Now there are NO 2 women missing in Columbia?

The average woman who gets divorced normally doesn't change their name back to their first husband's last name. If the first husband's name was that important because of the children from the first marriage, the woman wouldn't change her last name to the second husband's name. She would just stay either Holloway-Twitty or just Holloway.

Which husband is in Aruba right now, Jug or Dave?

I can NOT believe that Peru is even entertaining the idea of a televised re-enactment. I don't disagree with a re-enactment btw.

JeanC: authorities say it's not going to happen tonight, but you would never know that - everyone is still here waiting for the reenactment

Jean Casares is reporting. She said there's a lot of activity as everyone waits for the re-enactments. NG asks her about the confession: JC confirmed late today that JVDS admitted he left the hotel to go get coffee, walked next door to the convenience store, got coffee & bread, and while he was gone Stephany went through his computer and found information about Natalee, when he returned she confronted him, she hit him first, he responded by hitting her and then grabbed her neck. Also he says he was under influence of marijuana.

I heard Dave was going to Aruba and Beth launched her new business today.

NG: says the murder committed during the 90 minutes - VDS's return for coffee and when he left for good
JeanC: you have it right

I know we can't change things but if she just would have taken his computer and left.

PATTYG - when you get a chance, could you re-post the link you put up earlier? I can't find it now. Thank you.

[it was an interview from the Today Show I think. 5/31 or 6/1]

jvm said the Peruvian police think he killed her with the tennis racket?

that doesn't fit his description of what happened?

wonder why she said that?

I think discussion being relegated to one thread is really hampering the understanding of facts, and what's happening in general.

As I wrote in the past, and has been confirmed today, new information is coming out about the NH case, new searches, maps, etc...

We really need a forum to move this forward at all efficiently. One godsend would be a specific thread where a list of articles and human translations could be organized.

The NH forum should be brought back, and a new forum for the Peru and possibly Colombian crimes should be created as well. Hell, maybe a Joran Van Der Sloot to cover both NH and the new crimes.

Anyone who agrees should quote this post so staff knows.

I completely agree!

bolded by me....It will not matter that she hit him FIRST...He is NOT BEATEN and BLOODY and his NECK SHATTERED...

It will not matter...that he was under the influence..

WHAT WILL MATTER...HE KILLED ...HER...

Yea - why are we getting such conflicting stories? We all saw the article today - IIRC it was before noon.

And then TM himself said he witnessed as phone call that said the Columbian officials were going to Lima.

Now Jean C. is saying - Nope. No 2 girls - no one coming to interview

What's up with all that?

I'm so confused...........................
