The latest video is eerie. Anyone notice Stephany walk with her head down (as in the lobby) when she exits the screen to the right near the end of the video?

I got the impression Pat Brown was discussing Joran possibly wanting Stephany to perform oral sex on him..JMO

This is what I thought I heard - that Joran may have tried to force her to perform oral sex on him. :waitasec: When she refused, he flew off the handle (possibly).

Patty, I also asked a couple of times why the FBI couldn't pick him up as soon as the money was transferred or JVS was paid. The answer that it "wasn't enough sufficient evidence", didn't sit well with me. They couldn't arrest him on the day the money was transferred, but they could a few days/weeks later, after he was arrested for SF.

I'm not expert by any means, but something is up with the FBI and I would love to hear their side of this story. My gut tells me May 30th was his magic day to strike again in his sick mind, using the money from Beth to commit his crime, is even more horrendous, if that's even possible.

Well, since you posted this we now know why Joran wasn't arrested, and we also know it was Beth Twitty now Holloway money.

I missed this video from Shepard at Foxnews and Peter Devries. Could be a re-post but I find what Mr. Devries has to say fascinating (in re: to JVDS demeanor).

Diplomats take back seat as van der Sloot case grabs Peru's attention

snip...In Peru, however, he was virtually unknown.
"I had never heard of the case before," said Vanesa Bedyoa, a television reporter for Frecuencia Latina. "But since this happened, we have been covering him nonstop."

About a year ago, another girl was killed in that same hotel under very similar circumstances," said Silvana Leigton, who runs a hair salon next to the TAC Hotel. (Bolded by me)

His mother came to Peru. According to sources from the National Penitentiary Institute (INPE) the murder suspect will be held at the Miguel Castro Castro prison in San Juan de Lurigancho, following the conclusion of investigations into the case.
Learned that his cell is part of the so-called flag of prevention in the past housed prisoners for terrorism. There is also incarcerated Trujillo Ospina Colombian hit man, accused of the murder of Miriam Fefer.

There is no way in the world we are going to know exactly what happened in that room. Unfortunatley there will be so many unproven theories based on speculation and rumour. How could anyone possibly know that he wanted her to perform oral sex or vice versa.

JVS can say whatever he wants at this point, because unfortunately he killed the other person in that room.

How about we just get past what Pat Brown stated and continue on with FACTS in this case.

In context, iirc two women, Pat and ?, were bantering back and forth about what may have happened that caused Joran to attack. The comment took me by surprise. One of the women then stated something to the affect that it wasn't because SF looked at his computer in her opinion.

O/T Hawks won the stanley cup and I learned a ton of information today on this case, thanks to all of you.

Patty, since I posted the question as to why JVS wasn't arrested by the FBI, its incredible how much information has been obtained since then!

Foxnews is reporting that VDS may only get 15 years for killing Stephany. That is BS, not that he would survive a year in a Peru prison.

http://video.foxnews.com/v/4233452/van-der-sloot-to-face-light-sentence?playlist_id=86857

He could get 55 years for extortion in the U.S. That is crazy that he could get more for extortion that he will for murder.

Lets hope in 15 years that the U.S. is waiting to pick him up.

That could be true. The maximum is 35 yrs but we've read his lawyer could use the fact that he had drugs in his system as a mitigating factor which could/would reduce his sentence by half.

I get your point though!:)

From what I've read, in his mind he didn't have time to "groom" her. According to the article that Panthera posted (below) he asked a friend "...on several occasions to send money, and was [by his own account], completely desperate and pretty depressed. He asked for small amounts [to eat], and became pretty angry when I refused to send anything. He said literally that he was capable of strange things because no one wanted to help him,"

Oh I agree - he was running out of time. He needed rent money - at the very least. Maybe he thought he could rob her and get away with it. But we've heard he was there for that big tournament that didn't start until Tuesday (he wasn't supposed to play but was what is called a "rail bird") So, IF he could get rent he would have stuck around a couple of more days.

He had this "grand scheme" and it didn't pan out at all like he thought it was going to - he was desperate, depressed and it all went south.

Ya know, he is so full of himself could he have possibly thought that he could just charm the money he needed from her? She said no and he went ballistic. No robbery intended. I do believe they had done drugs together (or were going to) and he was just patting himself on his own back that he was able to get someone to come to his room with him.

Yes I read that about the "rail bird".

I am trying to figure out where all his money went though. Maybe I've missed something but according to reports he had $25k on him. A flight from Aruba to Peru can't be that much.
