I saw that too, I think these 2 met up earlier. She lied to her friends to go back to to the casino. Maybe JVDS knew she was coming back and put the GHB in the drink. I find it odd how he barely said anything and she put the drink in front of herself.
I love the term "gobsmacked"! Great word for how myself, and maybe many others, felt when they turned the tv on and heard JVDS was wanted for a murder in Lima, Peru. The day this story broke I did not check my computer until late in the day, after I heard it on the tv. Gobsmacked - Yep - that is exactly what I was! Thanks for the new word!
I watched the tape a couple of times. She moves the drink to the side, then it shifts to them leaving. He holds a drink in his hands, but I never see her take a drink, but leaves it on the table.
Please correct me if I'm wrong.

We know that Joran was given $10,000 in cash in Aruba. An additional $15,000 was wired to his bank account in the Netherlands. I wonder if he withdrew the $15,000 so that he had $25,000 total in his possession or is the $15,000 still in the Netherlands account? Be it $10,000 or $25,000, he still has a serious gambling addiction and feeding that addiction is probably what led to the murder of Stephany.
What's cocaine going for these days?
If these texts are true, then Joran went through Beth's $25,000.00 in ~2 weeks?
One of the articles on the site has Joran saying on May 25th, that his wallet had been stolen the day before with all of his credit cards and cash. He does not say how much cash.

With the sticky residue from pot, there could be remnants of it anywhere in that room....or on SFR.
Wonder if JVDS knew enough about peruvian law to shave his head- not to change his appearance, but so that hair testing would not be as accurate.
IOW, if his hair was longer, the test could show how long he had been using it, but he wants them to believe he was high that ONE night....and 'the drugs made him do it'.
I know I read that. But is it true...
The hotel had his passport and he would only get it back when he checked out. This is why he was not able to get on a plane.
He was probably thinking that instead of checking out and getting his passport, which would probably mean the hotel staff would enter the room shortly after and discover the body, he would instead just leave and go into Chile with the head start.

I did a google search for Peru Newspapers, I found this, it sounds like the Peruvian police do not think his confession was "sincere".

snipped from above:
Officers found several aggravating circumstances in the investigation against Van der Sloot and established that he acted with malice and ferocity against their victim to cause death, to thus seize the money she won hours earlier that day at the Atlantic City casino , so it is facing an offense against property with subsequent death, said a source.
Proof of this is that he was not the victim found any valuables in your vehicle and not on the crime scene. And the heavy blows inflicted on his victim were not only to frighten or reduce it, but had every intention of killing her. The version that holds over the circumstances that to act with extreme violence is an alibi for the sole purpose of reducing the crime.
