Australia Phoebe Bishop, 17, failed to board a scheduled flight from a Queensland Airport. Last seen Airport Drive, Bundaberg, 15 May 2025

I agree that something could have happened to her before she even got anywhere near the airport, or in the days prior, except for the fact she spoke with her boyfriend at 8.30am on the day of her flight, and was allegedly seen near the airport at that same time. I'm sure the boyfriend, and call logs, can confirm whether the phone call happened on that date, at that time and at that location. That phone call, and the contents of it, are very important to the case in my opinion.

I can't see any logical reason why a person dropping someone off at the airport, and a smaller airport like Bundaberg especially, wouldn't plan on dropping that person closer to the terminal. Maybe running late for work, and caring more about that than the welfare of your passenger? Maybe, and probably more likely, that an argument occurred and she chose to leave the vehicle, or was told to get out.

The only problem I have with that is that there aren't a heap of witnesses that saw her, especially at that time of morning on a weekday when kids are going to school, people starting work at 9am etc. My guess is similar to what BGirl88 said above - that there was an argument (I think this was suggested by police or in the press) and she exited the car, but then got back in and never made it to the airport. The fact both the house and the car are now considered crime scenes are very concerning to me.

Just as an FYI, here's the Bundaberg Airport website:

Both Qantas and Link airways appear to have flights from Bundaberg to Brisbane. I can't seem to see past flights, but Qantas has the above flights available on Thursdays, with Qantas leaving at 10.10am and Link leaving at 9.25am. This may not be the same schedule every Thursday though.

Travel time from Gin Gin to Bundaberg Airport is about 41 minutes by car and 51.5km.

Update 2: Missing girl, Bundaberg

QPS Media on May 22, 2025 @ 10:51am
Police are continuing to process two crime scenes as the search for a missing 17-year-old girl continues.

A property in Gin Gin and a grey Hyundai ix35 are active crime scenes.

Currently, no one is in custody in relation to this investigation however police continue to speak to people who know Pheobe.

Police are continuing to appeal to the public for dashcam and CCTV footage of the grey Hyundai ix35 with Queensland registration 414EW3 (pictured) near the Airport Drive and Samuels Road area in Bundaberg and also the Gin Gin area on May 15.

Detective Acting Inspector Ryan Thompson said public information is vital in piecing together Pheobe’s movements on May 15.

“You may have the small piece of information that leads us to finding Pheobe,” Detective Acting Inspector Thompson said.

“People don’t vanish – someone knows something and we’re urging anyone with information to contact police immediately.”

It comes as the 17-year-old's last posts to social media have also been revealed where she spoke of personal struggles.

Pheobe was living at the address with a couple, JW and TB, Daily Mail Australia can reveal. TB is the owner of the silver Hyundai.

Pheobe's final posts to social media before her disappearance also came to light on Wednesday, including an eerie March post to TikTok where she described having a conversation with her younger self.

Other posts suggested the teen had been struggling in recent months, with one saying she was 'losing sleep and losing peace of mind'.

'I'm not built for this town, these aren't my people,' said another March post.

Pheobe also shared a repost on May 13 captioned: 'When I die get my dad to lower my coffin so he can let me down one last time.'

A stomach-churning stench surrounded the home on Thursday morning and a neighbour said the remains of up to 11 dead dogs had reportedly been found at the property during police inquiries.

The couple were not at the address on Thursday, while detectives in forensics gear scoured the home.

Her comments about herself and the town "not being her people" is really sad.
Sounds like she was left down all her life by the people who were suppose to nurture her.

What a sad life she must have had :(

She was living with 2 people known to her mother
PB mother was close friends and work colleague of the woman living at the house, TB.

Her partner JW had not long resided at Gin Gin having come from Emerald, and TB and her family lived in Gin Gin. Both rented the house PB lived at.

PB had a plane ticket to Brisbane then onto Perth to visit her friends / BFriend.
She never arrived at her destination and alarm were raised

The 2 people she shared house with told police she was dropped off on airport link Rd, which is ridicuous because it's miles from the terminal. Having to cross 2 lanes and roundabouts with luggage, is not something that is even imaginable, let alone doable.

Perhaps suggesting this to police, was knowing that the car would not have been seen at the terminal cameras, should police look into that.

This is why police are asking for dashcam footage, to see IF the car was actually at the airport area. IMO

PB was no where near that airport IMO

Something happened to her prior IMO.

The article discusses the neighbour complaint to police with the dogs going berserk and subsequently when police arrive at the property looking for evidence on PB, they find the dogs shot dead.

Why shoot the dogs at the very instance their housemate goes missing??

Dogs are very good at picking up scent.

Is this why they were shot?

Or was it because the place was left abandoned and no one would be there to look after them?

Finally!!!!

Detectives investigating the suspicious disappearance of the teen on Wednesday said there was no proof she was ever dropped at Bundaberg Airport, seizing a car and setting up a crime scene at a property where she was staying.”

“Police had been told she was last seen at Airport Dr with luggage, however investigators said they have no confirmed sightings of the teen at the airport. They have also not found her luggage.

Detective Acting Inspector Ryan Thompson on Wednesday said police were confident Pheobe never made it to the airport despite being told it was the last place she was seen.”

Yep

Maybe she decided to go no-contact with the people in her life because she felt they wouldn't approve of her partner.
Her BF and her were childhood sweethearts.
Nothing to do with why she removed herself from her family. She was in foster care for many yrs prior. She had a tough life with little nurturing.
Very sad outcome for someone that didn't deserve what was coming to her.

My heart breaks for the life Phoebe had/has. It sounds like she was let down by her Dad, had a difficult relationship with her Mum, was in and out of home for a while, all by the age of 17. We don't know the reasons behind this, but it's not a great start to life by the sounds of it. And the conversation with her younger self, don't even get me started. 😢

Does anyone know when the last confirmed sighting of Phoebe was?
I’ve only read that a relative said she made the phone call to her friend at 8:30am. I haven’t read that the police have said phone records confirm she called him then.

I think right from the start the police had their doubts on his story. Him saying he dropped her off on that road, on the side of a very busy 2 lane road, having to try and navigate through a busy roundabout with her luggage and arrive at the terminal doors....
No way that ever happened. Even terminal cameras internally would have picked her up booking in, not to mention her ticketing never processed.

He had to say she got out on that road because there are no cameras in that area. The police looked at CCTV footage from a business near Airport Link Rd and searched the surrounding areas for clues.

She never left that property is my guess.

And when police arrived at the abandoned property, as per news report, they found the shot dogs and the car and his old bus he was trying to sell, no JW or TB to be found.

I think the WA boyfriend told her there was no point coming over bc he’s got a new girlfriend. Probably something he’d been putting off, not really thinking she was really ever going to go and see him, but could no longer avoid telling her.
Being young and emotional, she’s maybe gotten out of the car, and then somethings’ happened.
Where did you hear this from?
