Phone Tracing

New to this forum. Please excuse but could someone advise if phone tracing / triangulation that put the suspect in the vicinity of abduction could also be used in the days following to try and locate movements and possible burial site?

I think it could and should be used to track his movements, but it would only be significant if he made or received a call in that period of time (it's unlikely that he did, I think we would know by now)
