Thank you for the time zones, @SteveP.

I’m going to miss it because I’ll be with my dad in the hospital here in Florida and then go to my mom in the memory care facility.

I have tried 100 different ways to tape it for 11 AM tomorrow, but I cannot figure out my dad’s tv settings.

One thing I know in this life is that plenty of my fellow posters will have saved the day for those like me who must miss it live.

❤️❤️❤️
I am sure that everyone must know by now, but just in case, 9am MDT is 8am, Pacific, 10am, Central, and 11am, Eastern.. Also 4pm if you are in the UK, as I know some here are, and 5pm, I think, for @Dotta.

I am sorry that, after being invested in this case for so long, you will not be able to watch the sentencing hearing live, but I certainly understand that it is FAR more important that you be there for your dad and mom. Many of us will be posting here, I am sure, and I am also pretty sure that you will be able to find it online, after the fact, if not in toto, certainly the key parts. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

I absolutely have no doubt I will find it here when I can catch up.

Thank you for your kind words and support, and your always excellent posts (imo 😉)!

And knowing why is not required in our legal system. Many defendants are convicted without the jury, victims, or public ever knowing why they committed the crimes.

Of course, we all want to know, but we shouldn't assume that BK would tell the truth or that he even has the insight to actually know what motivated him beyond "depravity." And we already know he's depraved.

Sure would be good to know what he did with the knife. OMO.

Thank you so much, @ilovewings!

Such a wonderful collection of people here. A very caring community, as I have learned over the years.

Weird that People is doing the article on the 4 alternate suspects today...that info was in the judge's order denying the AT the ability to use that defense back on June 26--and I know other media have done articles on it before now.

Considering that he pled guilty, so there's no way these other people are involved, why are they allowed to be publicly defamed??? If I were them, I'd be suing People magazine for dragging my good name through the mud.

Does anyone know if there will be a recording of the sentencing hearing tomorrow? Or only live? TIA!

Does anyone know if there will be a recording of the sentencing hearing tomorrow? Or only live? TIA!

Generally, only the Court's live stream (such as WebEx) cannot be recorded for later broadcast per Statute, but the Media partner granted access as the Court's camera pool partner can typically record the live hearing and re-broadcast it later.

For example, I watched the plea hearing live on King5 in Seattle, and the next day, King5 had their live coverage available for replay on their YouTube channel. It appears they will do the same for the sentencing per the link below.

7/23/25

Kohberger's sentencing hearing is scheduled for 8 a.m. PST Wednesday, July 23 at the Ada County Courthouse in Boise, Idaho.

KING 5 will live stream the hearing on the free KING 5+ app for Roku, Apple TV and Amazon Fire TV, as well as on KING5.com. Wall-to-wall coverage of the sentencing hearing will also air Wednesday on KING 5.

What to Expect at Sentencing

Prosecutors will be able to explain to the judge why they feel the sentence they are recommending is appropriate. Kohberger’s defense team will also have the same opportunity.

Kohberger can then give an allocution – a statement to the court where he could explain his actions and personal circumstances and express remorse.

“And then any victims of the crime, their families, can and will have the opportunity to make a statement in court to the judge in front of the defendant,” Malek said. “… It gives that victim the ability to have some sort of voice in the process. Sometimes it brings a sense of relief to get the impact of this crime on them or their family off of their chest in front of the defendant … It also helps inform, I think, the judge, as well as to the true impact of the crime. In this case, that impact is very clear.”

They were not named in the People article, and the judge's order has all their names and identifying characteristics redacted.

People who have paid attention to the case from the beginning can definitely make very educated guesses as to who these people, but the general population or casual observer of the case (esp one who came late to the case after BK was arrested and the PCA was available) wouldn't.

However, James Patterson's book does make sure to include the names of some of these people (while not describing them as AT's alternate suspects...the book was written long before she made her filing)....which I feel was pretty irresponsible/inappropriate.

Maddie, Kaylee, Ethan & Xana have taken us on an emotional ride, rooting for them posthumously. Everyone in Moscow, and in Idaho, even though many do not talk about it, think of them often, with love. They were UI students but they resemble college kids all across the country. Each of them unique, striving for something, leaning into their futures. When something like this happens, many of us, we need to come away learning something, ANYTHING. Maybe it is lock your doors or close your blinds, choose your friends wisely or understand some may feel left out, or just realize that this could happen ANYWHERE and be careful.

I hope they get what they need tomorrow, even if I fear we will not. Answers. I know I am not owed them, but they are, the families sure are, and we all need to process what went on in the 1122 King Road house on November 13th. I can only imagine they had no understanding. WHY?

Details may sting, but missing information will leave a hole permanently. I hope it all makes a little more sense tomorrow. I doubt it, but I do hope. JMOO
