Ben Mogen - talking about BK's life in prison and not knowing when you wake up each morning if "your card will be pulled". Did I hear this right? - sounds like he spent some time in prison. Card being pulled must meaning taken out by someone in the prison? There was also an undertone of threat towards BK. I love that.

We took this disaster and did what we could. We got online. we put it out there and shared it with the world

It’s very rare but it has happened before where a Judge cried at sentencing and on appeal it was argued there was some abuse of discretion / their display of emotion affected their sentencing decision.

Judge Hippler is expressing his heartfelt sorrow to these victims, but if there ever was a case where a defendant would try to argue on appeal that their judge showed emotion and therefore ruled unfairly (in some way) in deciding their sentence, I could see BK being that person.

FTR - I am NOT saying Judge Hippler wiping away tears and/or showing emotion is wrong in any way, just that such a display of emotion has gotten some defendants somewhere on appeals, including one having their sentence vacated due to the judge’s display of emotions. :/
