The whole story is very confusing and we will probably never know. In another document, one officer contacts the registrar at U of O and finds BK was never enrolled there. Then, apparently, there may have been some other name he was using or something. At any rate, the person who gave this information said she was there, gave the prof's name, and said they were talking intensely about crime, and apparently the professor decided to gift Kohberger with a knife.

I've heard this story before, the prof's initials are given in the redacted documents and the person who was the eyewitness (supposedly) was talking about the incident on social media.

I was just very surprised to see that LE actually talked to this witness and put the story in the tip file.

😮
I was under the impression that BK had purchased that knife off of Amazon ?

Document 174: While reviewing Kohberger's cell phone data extraction I located a screen shot of the Whitman County Jail Roster with C F information. The last modified date/time for the image was 11-13-2022 @ 6:27:12 PM. This image was taken from YikYak.

In Kohberger's Chrome tab History, on his phone, I located where he searched Google for: Broadcastify.com/listen/feed, Pullman police and fire dispatch liveaudio feed, on 11-13-2022 at 12:26:49 AM.

Iirc there was a police presence outside his apartment building that night. I imagine this search was related to that.

Making sure it didn't have to do with him, making sure it wouldn't interfere with what he was preparing to do.

Wonder what C F information would be on the Whitman County Jail roster.

here is that webpage--the roster is immediately listed in total right on the main page.

The families knew and said that the victims had been contacted by him. They have no reason to lie. I firmly believe that this was NOT a random killing. He targeted and stalked these girls.
People always say a stabbing is personal. If Kaylee was in fact stabbed 34 times as her dad says, there is no way you can convince me this was not targeted to those girls.

I got it. It’s Carmen Fernandez, who was charged with that hit and run near his apartment.

Has anyone been able to open the files that were just posted today to the moscow police department site? I can’t get them to open.
Not me.

I wish they would have required him to at least say this much. I get he can't be required to explain what he did or to speak about motive and that would be easy to lie about anyway, but why not require him to say where he put the knife. If he buried it, then require him to take them to it. That would provide more closure that he knew something only the killer would know, and he told something that could be proven (they could go retrieve the knife or clothing).
Why? The murder weapon has no more bearing on his guilt. Clearly he got rid of it, but it's no longer necessary.

Regardless of the felon's motive or intention, it is highly suspect -- he entered a home rented by all young women, at 4 am, assaulting them in bed. That has sexuzlly motivated crime written all over it IMO.

If you don't believe me, if he hadn't BRUTALLY MURDERED THEM, if we asked XK and KG, I expect they both feared it, in the brief moments before they succumbed to their injuries.

Such violence. Crazed.

He is not human.

Court today started at 5pm Central European Time, it is now 1am the next day here (as I start to write this) and I watched most of the victim impact statements starting at about 11pm maybe. There are about 40 pps on this thread since I last read something last night. So excuse me for not reading them now and simply writing my impressions and thoughts of what I saw today.

I was most moved by the victim impact statements of Dylan, of Bethany (read by her friend) and maybe Ben Mogen. Ben Mogen has obviously not had a completely easy life up until now (which was known before, I realise). I'm not really a praying person, but in his case I do pray that he finds the support he needs to keep going, since he no longer has his darling daughter Maddie Mae to keep going for. I know all too well trying to write out what to say and then not being able to decide what exactly and not being able to finish reading it out. His emotions came out well, through more than his words.

As somebody with cptsd myself, I really felt for Dylan. That poor young woman, hounded and accused and death threats... all by ignoramuses (IMO) who didn't have anything better to do with their time and had NO CLUE, NO EMPATHY. There were mbrs on here questioning her behaviour too, maybe not the regular mbrs, I can't remember. For those who want to question victims, this could be a slight wake-up call maybe? However I did see a comment on Daily Mail today that somebody was back to questioning the roommates' actions - why didn't they call 911? Why can't some people read/listen and comprehend?? - would be my question in return.

Anyway, with my cptsd I had physical and emotional reactions to Dylan's victim impact statement. I went cold, I shook, I even cried a little. What guts me is knowing how long her healing journey might still be. I remember some of the trauma reactions she's describing though thankfully I am a lot further in my healing journey and no longer suffer to that degree. Like not being able to close your eyes for fear of what may happen. iirc she still can't, so that's over 2.5 years now. What indescribable suffering. Also evident from the way she could hardly speak for crying some of the time. She's still alive, she has a life ahead of her, and she's very brave IMO but it's good to hear and acknowledge to her how difficult that sometimes or even often is.

Imagine Bethany who wrote a victim impact statement but couldn't face reading it herself in court! I'm not sure if she was even there, and if she wasn't I totally understand, she would be putting her own healing and psychological health above everything else - very good self-care for somebody traumatised to that degree. Bethany's friend (was it Emily Alandt, I can't remember) read it instead and cried more or less throughout, which I interpret as her crying both for Bethany and knowing and experiencing all what she has been going through since this unspeakable act of evil was committed and crying as well for the murder victims that Bethany knew so well and described and undoubtedly crying her own feelings out too. If she's been supporting Bethany, she'll suffer with her, she'll feel her emotions to some degree too, even if she's getting support through counselling/therapy in not picking up other victims' emotions, MOO and IME.

Of course, Kaylee's sister packed a real punch in her victim impact statement. I'm glad at least one of that family spoke.

I so appreciated the Judge's words to BK / about BK. No mincing his words. He told BK what he thought of him and his unspeakable act of evil. That BK had had his 15 minutes of fame and now should be left to rot outside the public's eye (tho those words after "and" are me paraphrasing Judge Hippler). MOO

I too wish that we could stop discussing BK on here and turn our attention to the many victims - instead of a minute of silence, how about an hour of not paying ANY attention to BK. No questions posed about anything to do with him and what he did or didn't do and why not and why can't he be forced to tell the truth etc etc etc. The answers to some of those questions were covered today by Judge Hippler and Bill Thomson anyway.

with any assets he accumulates, like from books etc. let's hope it remains unpaid.
Does Idaho have a law regarding prisoners making money from their crimes? Or could a judge impose that at sentencing? Or would it have to be specified in the confession?

Mods: How are we navigating the document dump here? I’m going through them and there are some very sensitive ones (I.e. autopsy reports and crime scene description) that may be out of the normal discussion rules here. Just wondering how, if at all, members are to discuss these and which ones should not be mentioned, if any.

Just feels a little gray area-ish to me and wanted to check.

Edited for grammar*

He gets a free iPad?
I believe the reporter from NewsNation toured the Idaho prison and said that the prisoners can have a tv, iPad, and access to email. Pretty ridiculous.

Dont forget there was another roommate (cant recall her name) that was not at the house at that time. She wanted to come back to King Rd because of a Vandals game that weekend, but her mother wanted her to stay at the house to housesit while they were on vacation.
Very lucky gal!

Also, Kaylee had already moved out and came back to King Rd to visit and show Maddie her new Range Rover.

Think about this. If he had given a statement it wouldn’t have been truthful. That would be another thrill for him. ‘The joke is on them because I didn’t say anything close to the truth’. So he didn’t get another chance to LIE, the joke is on him…and he is a joke.

He thought imo, he was such a badass and would be able to pull off the perfect crime. One of those dark minds who idealizes serial killers.

Then per Dateline he went home and eventually listened to a Britney Spears song, slowed down, called "criminal"

Yeah dude, real badass.

Those comments today about how he was a loser and not some brilliant killer i bet got to him the most.
Brittney Spears, OMG. A real tough guy.
