For those interested, Maddie's Mother speaks about Maddie and the yellow ID sweatshirt. Those gorgeous pink boots are shown in video too, the ones that used to be displayed in the window at King Rd.

Begins at 3:27:56 (right before that Ethan's mom talks about Ethan)

Thanks for this link, @arielilane .

Agreed with P. Holloway, beginning 2:41:33 ff. where he says (paraphrased) ".. justice is in the eyes of the beholder..."; in describing what he would've done differently than the prosecutor.

Justice to some may be entirely different than justice would look like in the eyes of the victim's parents/families.
Doubtful imo , that there are many who would disagree with the harshest penalties allowed by law had this gone to trial.

I haven't followed B. Thompson's other cases but in BK's case I still think it was the safest if not the best outcome.
Although again not everyone's wish, but the DP would have carried other burdens like having to keep seeing the monster in appeal (?) hearings.

Still praying the families can find peace !
Omo.

Does knowing how brutal he was murdering these kids change anyone's minds on giving him a no death penalty plea deal?

I haven't gone thru the 1000's of posts here and this may have been mentioned and if it has, I apologize. Just from the few posts I've read on this mystery item that resembles a vacuum part and the light and sound I automatically thought of a cattle prod or taser of some kind. It would explain a flash and perhaps the sound like a pop or snap. I don't think there was any mention of shock marks on any of the bodies but one could have been used to maybe scare or cause compliance? Just a thought.

EDITED to add an idea at the bottom

I think you've hit it almost right. Not a cattle prod or a taser like cops use that shoots out the darts that attach to the target.....a stun gun.

Many stun guns have a light on them that can be set to strobe when the stun gun is activated--the idea is that it is an additional way to disorient your target.

He could have brought it to use as a threat (or even had one of the models where you can turn on the normal flashlight mode without shocking to help him navigate).

If he encountered Xana and pursued her through the living room, the route to her bedroom would have put her in a location about halfway between DM and BF's rooms, near that stairwell to the basement that has the halfway that faces the living room. A very bright strobe going off in the middle of the living room and the sizzling sound as he tried to attack Xana with it (but missed), could easily be heard and seen in DM's room and interpreted to her drunk and sleepy brain as a firework and a sparkler.

BF could have heard that....but her bedroom is under the area at the top of the living room stairs. As you can see by this picture from the realtor.com listing for the house, you can actually see the underside of those stairs forming part of her room.

Since those stairs have a wall on the "inner" side of them that goes all the way down to the floor of the first floor and creates a wall that is the hall down to BF's room, I'm trying to figure out if there was any way that a strobing light from the living room could be seen by looking under her 1st floor door. All I can think of is if there had been a mirror across from the bottom of those stairs...(the door to the empty room first floor room isn't directly across from the stairs, so there is a small stretch of wall space there....that's right near the front door, so I could see a mirror there to check your looks before you head out).

I've been puzzling about this all night.

Looking at that picture again and wondering if it is actually possible for a bright strobe in the living room (which didn't have drawn curtains) to reflect off of the windshield of Kaylee's new car since it was parked slightly further back from the house than the car right in front of BF's window. If BF's curtains/blinds weren't fully drawn, her drunk and sleepy brain may have assumed that the flashing light she was seeing was coming from under the door instead of through a crack in her curtains, especially depending on where her bed was placed.

Throughout Kohberger’s sentencing hearing, a note with a heart on it could be seen on camera sitting next to him on the defense table.

It isn’t clear what the note was. Something was handwritten on the back. Toward the end of the hearing, one of his attorneys picked it up and appeared to ask Kohberger about it.

When Kohberger said something, she smiled and took the note with her.

This is from my personal timeline:

July 9, 2022 BK was invited to an afternoon pool party in nearby Moscow, Idaho, according to three witnesses who met him there. He was awkward at the pool party, ogling a married woman. Parked his butt by the DJ and overstayed his welcome.
Got a couple phone numbers and bolted, oddly early.

Between July 9, 2022 and November 7th, between 10 pm and 4am -- 23 separate times, was within 100 meters of the house on 23 occasions.

(And now we know it was 23+ times).
question, bc my mind is mush...did he go near 1122 the day of the pool party? like later that night?

I’m still catching up on everything from the Sentencing Hearing yesterday so don’t know if this has been posted from 14 hours ago.

Nothing earth shattering but I did not think that BK’s Father was in attendance, only his Mother and sister.

This gentleman describes what it felt like being there and says he was seated right behind the family and both parents were there.

Just something new I’d not heard.

Truthfully didn't like the plea -- however, if it was a certainty that he would face the DP, sure.
But a trial is risky as it would've taken just one juror to decide against, and he might've walked, so ...

Yes, that night.

The pool party was at an apartment complex across town (and from my calculations doesn't use the same cell tower). He wouldn't have had to drive past the 1122 neighborhood to get to or from the pool party from Pullman....so something drew him to that neighborhood....perhaps something as simple as overhearing one of the pretty girls at the pool party that he was trying to chat up mention she lived over by 1112 King by naming one of the complexes that are across the street or next to 1122.

I notice both his concern about what happened to his parents and the dog and that he didn't want to take the GRE. I don't blame him in some ways--I spent a whole summer relearning Algebra for the GRE and practicing the questions on what was then a reasoning exam. But then I'm not afraid to grind and compete.
IMO Bk worried that his GRE would indicate his low global knowledge/Intelligence. This is a guy who probably never lived anywhere than under his parents’ roof. His dad brought BK to Washington and drove back with him.

Go to City of Moscow, ID website. That’s where I found them
There's a link to the MPD website at the start of each thread here and another link to the website where the docs are should be posted on that website.

I'm using the Google drive upload someone posted on about page 79/80 of the previous thread (#112) because each time I tried to access from the MPD link it was taking forever to open (didn't open for me,). That may be just an issue with my phone?. It might work ok on a laptop.

im good with it bc I think he will be handled in prison. they will hate him just for his arrogance (and handwashing)

I’m okay with the plea, but I think I would have wanted something from BK. It would have been worth the ask. Worst that happens is that you go back to the negotiating table. I don’t want to know the “why” because there is no why. Murder weapon, the story maybe.

Could the alleged second weapon, described by members of the Goncalves family as the instrument that caused the severe blunt force trauma to Kaylees’ face, have been either metal knuckles on the style of Kaybar knife, or the pommel of the Kaybar knife? Law enforcement stated they were unable to determine what caused the blunt force injuries to Kaylee.

Oh i’m sure she’ll get the DP cases. I respect that she kept the Loser off death row. Her choices along the way pushed the envelope.
I think that also has to do with the district attorneys office wanting to avoid trials at all costs (literally)

No. Not when it takes one juror to find him innocent...and just in the last year we've seen examples of supposedly impartial jurors in a high profile case turning out to actually have their own agenda/be researching a criminal's innocence groupies.

You know, you are probably right. In response to Alivea's question... "Why November 13th?"... it might have been less about the actual date, and more about the day of the week (a Friday or Saturday night). I hadn't considered that before and kept wondering why that specific date and did that mean anything to BK.
I think he chose Nov 13 because he knew the students would be going home soon (for Thanksgiving and then the semester would be almost ever). A now or never type of situation.

Elliot Rodger initially planned his “day of retribution” (his words) to coincide with other mass murders that occurred in April partly because it gave him an extra month of cushion if he backed out. It seems he knew himself well because he backed out a few times and waited until the very last minute—as the semester was already over and students were beginning to return home.

Obviously, that’s just a theory on my part.

Thank you!

This is the first report I've seen that mentions BK's dad was in attendance (independent reports about mom & sister, and finally a photo of them together). If not by Nate, I might find it questionable.

... and my question is, why would anyone believe anything that comes out of his mouth? I am pretty sure that, at some point, he will make himself available for interviews, and, as much as a part of me hopes he does, a bigger part of me hopes that no one takes him up on any offer.

As Judge Hippler stated yesterday, at sentencing, "We are now certain who committed these unspeakable acts of evil. But what we don't know, and what we may never know is why. I share the desire, expressed by others, to understand the why. But upon reflection, it seems to me, and this is just my own opinion, that by continuing to focus on why, we continue to give Mr Kohberger relevance. We give him agency, and we give him power. In my view, the time has now come to end Mr Kohberger's 15 minutes of fame. It's time that he be consigned to the ignominy and isolation of perpetual incarceration".

Amen Judge Hippler, amen! And thank you for guiding this case with the highest level of fairness and wisdom. You, like so many others we have come to know here, will never be forgotten. JMO

I'd not believe one word this murderer ever said.

I loved every word JH said though! My particular favorites were:

"...no conceivable reason could make any sense..."

AND

"I am unable to come up with anything redeemable about Mr. Kohberger.. nor anything HUMAN."
