The media sure is getting a lot of mileage out of the murder victims! Panel of experts talking about prison, and what that is for convicted murderers in the USA. Are they hoping that people will gloat about Kohberger's future? Strange idea about entertainment today!

But, Gonclaves might be interested. Might contain information as to what happened and motive. And Sterns phone calls were released. Aldelson's phone calls were released. Many phone calls of prisoner phone calls have been released.

Hope the family attorney advises them that threats about "brand damage" and taking action could backfire and hope they don't face a civil claim of their own.

CourtTV can cash in with Kohberger talk, but Dateline can't? They can all speculate, but no one should get facts? That's a shocking twist to freedom of speech, or is it.

Regarding the phone the NYT article said:

At the time Mr. Kohberger was arrested in December 2022, about seven weeks after the killings, investigators detailed cellphone data linking Mr. Kohberger to late-night visits he had made to areas around where the killings occurred. That suggested he had studied the scene of the murders before carrying them out.

But Mr. Thompson conceded on Thursday that those visits did not necessarily prove Mr. Kohberger had visited the home or surveilled it, as the area served by the cell tower infrastructure probably extended all the way to the main highway that brings people into town from Washington, where Mr. Kohberger lived.

IMO It’s likely he surveilled the home, but it can’t be proven from the cell records.

No I think they're referring to 'his voice' as relayed through eg Dateline/whoever. ( Those seeking interviews with BK right now) They also mentioned denying BK his media rights and $

Yes, his cell phone connects in Moscow later the same morning, and a vehicle consistent with SV1 is captured on camera at the eastern end of Taylor Avenue near the A&W restaurant. He was wise enough to not enter King Road.

Similar to when he powered off his phone during the murder window, Kohberger never returns to Moscow again after this date, telegraphing his guilt.

I don't know why she thought she might be arrested. If it was because of the use of profanity, I think that happens in many VI statements. They're raw and emotional, I believe the Court tends to give families a little leeway here.

Judge Hippler had some very tough words for the Murderer too. He was great in managing this case IMO.

I saw Steve Goncalves talking about how they didn't really know the limits of what they could say. So I think there was that sort of unknown factor for them of "is cursing allowed? Is it contempt of court?" It's easy for us to say of course not, but this was all new to them and they knew they had strong things to say.

Compare to KG's room with a closet. It's MM's closet. That is a tiny room. It's hard to imagine how such huge violence could occur in such a small place.

He was invading their safety from about the first moment he landed in Washington. The State has been careful to say they can't "prove" those 23 tours were specific to the house or any one victim but then wouldn't they say the same of his four loops that early-morning? Seems like he has a fixed destination when he left his apartment just before 3am... and a fixed location that he was circling until 4:08 when his vehicle dropped out of sight before speeding away fast twelve minutes later.

I think what's hard to articulate is not that it was random or opportunistic but that the felon was looking for a victim when he arrived in Washington and he purposefully picked one with whom he had no connection. That was the gist of his unresearched Master's thesis -- how felons picked their victims.

I thought KG was only back that weekend and hadn't been living or visiting there for quite some time, but now we know that there were several instances where they got spooked -- Murphy not returning immediately when called, seeing someone in the tree-lined, etc.

I wonder if any of those incidents were aborted missions on his part.

What an absolute waste of a human being he turned out to be.

I guess the case of Idaho4 might be discussed during Criminology classes.

I agree @SteveP. We heard conflicting statements, and while I believe the Murderer's father was physically present in Moscow, I don't think he attended the sentencing hearing. I believe he wouldn't have been able sit through the Victims Impact Statements.

Mom was going to be there come he ll or high water, and the sister would have gone in support of her Mother.

Brian E only addressed that the Murderer mouthed "I Love You" to Mom on the way in, and "I'll see you later" to his sister on the way out. If Dad would have been there I 100% think he would have said something to him.

If he was in Idaho physically, he didn't even go with the mom and sister when they visited BK the day before the sentencing. This news clip from ABC shows the mom and sister walking out of the building with AT (and Bicka Barlow and Elissa Massoth walking on ahead of them). So I definitely get the impression he didn't got to Idaho at all--could be health, could be expenses, could be many things.
