Good point. Fear does seem to be the root of hate. Unfortunately, hate comes across as power and strength to some people, and exerting that power over women (or anyone else) makes them feel strong and valuable. This can apply to young teen boys and world rulers alike. And it may apply to the Moscow Killer.

I am the one who said that. I do realize it sounds far-fetched but nothing else in my mind addressed a flash like a camera, not tethered to a network. In the middle of the night, that could have sounded pretty loud. IDK JMOO

And look what happens when women speak out. We’re too often blamed for the assaults against us and are told to shut up about our experiences of being afraid of being attacked, threatened, and having to be wary all of the time because, god forbid, it hurts some male’s feelings.

It tracks with BK grading women more harshly than the men in class, among many other things. I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if Kohberger had a shrine, either in his room or online, to Andrew Tate and others like him.

How do you propose that universities control privately owned off-campus housing? It's one thing to blame them when they dropped the ball in on-campus housing, like in the Kristin Smart case, who lived in the dorms and so did the suspect, but this is a whole different horse. I see it as the landlord's responsibility to maintain the integrity of the doors and windows, and short of doing that- the tenants make the repairs and get re-imbursed from the landlords. Yes college students should be made aware of basic safety- maybe that should be the universities job, but that's not always a realistic goal. Oh, and they were students at U of Idaho, not WSU.

(MPD convenes with the Dean of Students Office) I don't think it's beyond the wit of man to imagine pressure for improvements can be exerted in multiple ways that don't have to feature within a rental contract.

Also wherever there are campus police and departmental tie-ins - like the WSU Criminology internships with Pullman, then research projects which monitor and evaluate minor prowler & creeper incidents would be worthwhile. (Staff in that Dept already know the correlation between low level offending and progression to more serious crimes even though the 1122 tragedy itself is very, very rare )

That was a reference to the PPD research projects conducted with a different university a few miles away, not U of I

I sincerely hope that there will not be any photos of the Kaylee, Maddie, Xana or Ethan at the crime scene published by anyone. I don't think there will be, but you never know considering the leaks lately in this case.

No parent wants pictures of their deceased, dearly beloved child out on the internet for the ghouls to consume.

This Murderer has taken enough away from the victims, survivors, loved ones and entire community. It would be awful IMO to think photos of his crime scene 'handiwork' would be out there for general consumption.

I believe it would give this Murderer great satisfaction knowing they were though. I don't want him to have one more ounce of infamy or pleasure from his heinous actions period. I want him to go away, rot in prison, never to be heard from again until he's carried out in a pine box, sooner rather than later.

Curious as to what the murderer might have been taking a picture of if BF saw the flash from under her door?

That was basement level with an empty room, electrical closet, bathroom and BF's room. BF evidently had her door shut, I wonder if she normally locked it? I know I did, especially on the weekends when there was a lot of partying going on.

I believe the New York Post article, “Secret documents in Bryan Kohberger case, including pics of Idaho murder victims, could be made public” (linked via an X post by @Dotta), refers to the August 4, 2025 court document, Order Regarding Sealed Documents. Here’s a screenshot of the first page of the two-page document, with the relevant paragraph highlighted:



The State’s exhibits for the sentencing hearing are no secret since Bill Thompson showed them during the live-streamed hearing.

This clip shows the part of the sentencing hearing during which Thompson shows four of the State’s exhibits mentioned in the court document:

Although the livestream camera doesn’t show the projection of the first photo (of Maddie), we can tell it is NOT a bloody crime scene photo, or a photo from the morgue—OF COURSE! We do get to see projections of the subsequent three photos of the murdered victims, all showing them when they were alive, happy, and lovely.

Of course, the clip I shared above does not show the State’s fifth exhibit—the group photo of the six victims, including DM and BF—but that photo had to be taken before the murders, as well.

The short piece, Prosecutor shows victims' photos as families weep, by ABC11 describes the relevant part of the sentencing hearing, and mentions the joyous photo of all six victims:

"You can see all six of these dynamic, vibrant, loving, special, innocent faces, taken together just across the street from their residence. And barely 12 hours before four of them would be brutally murdered in their sleep," Thompson said.

Note that on page 2 of the Order Regarding Sealed Documents, none of the listed court documents that will possibly be unsealed soon refer to any victim photos.

So the New York Post was accurate when they reported in the article linked above:

The records include “photographs of each of the deceased victims and a photograph of the six victims together.”

The images of Kaylee Goncalves, Madison Mogen, Xana Kernodle and Ethan Chapin — who were killed on Nov. 13, 2022 — and surviving roommates Bethany Funke and Dylan Mortensen were included as exhibits during Kohberger’s July 23 sentencing.

But, unless the New York Post skipped the sentencing hearing, they were certainly misleading when they stated:

It’s unclear whether the pictures are before or after the vicious stabbing deaths at the off-campus house in Moscow.

I sincerely doubt that Judge Hippler will ever release any photo of the murdered victims taken after their vicious stabbing deaths, even if they are contained in earlier sealed court documents not yet under review.

Speaking of crime scene photos, one more reason to mark up as to why it's good this case did not go to trial.
No reason for some WD(s) to leak crime scene photos.

In my opinion, the media irresponsible for posting the photo of the blood that seeped through the wall.
There's a difference between educating the public on crimes and disclosing disgusting photos.

I chose to remember Kaylee, Maddie, Xana and Ethan as successful young adults that never had a chance that fateful night. My thoughts of well wishes for everything wonderful coming for Dylan and Bethany.
