The NY metro area has a gazillion more cell towers than rural Idaho. They probably have one on every block — which makes it a lot easier to pinpoint specific locations. From Pullman to Moscow, they probably have less than 10 total. Locations near hills and/or valleys also affect tower pings.Okay then explain how when it came to Rex Huberman, Gilgo Beach Killer, why they were then able to use the cell tower pings of his phone to prove he was everywhere he was when dead bodies were found? Cause yes, cell phone towers will ping a geo location of where you've been, that's how they find people lost in the woods to lost in plane crashes that are still alive due to the cell towers and radio towers. It's a gps based ping with phone towers because everytime you aren't on the wifi, you are using the cell tower and the tower pings that info back to the carrier of the company you are using where it's data recording your gps location. So yes, cell phone records 100% can prove where you've been.
