GUILTY PLEA DEAL ACCEPTED - 4 Univ of Idaho Students Murdered, Bryan Kohberger Arrested, Moscow, Nov 2022 #114

I think he had maybe seen Maddie through her window during his previous trips, and maybe fixated on her. He had no way of knowing KG was there that night, much less in the same bed.

If everything went according to plan, I think she was supposed to be the only victim. Unfortunately, just minutes before he arrived, Xana had ordered food, which meant she was up and about. That ultimately put two additional victims in the crosshairs.
Yes, the evidence for this is the (not discussed or discussible) violent p*rn he was consuming. Presumably, that was the fantasy he was wanting to act out. There doesn't seem to be any evidence he was into slasher movies or mass-murder video games.

At any rate, the police should have done a better job informing the parents (and friends), IMO.
One thing about the bodycam footage that I found so surprising, was how there was only, like, 3 police officers on the scene even an hour after the discovery of the bodies.

The first responding officer was trying to take witness statements and identify the 4 victims (and properly document that, while being continually interrupted) and then he had to go back to headquarters to get the search warrant prepared so police could even look for evidence.

There was just a stunning amount that needed to be done that first day for a tiny police force that can't ever have dealt with a quadruple homicide. Who knows how long it took State police and the FBI to get there, probably hours, and then you have the challenge of where do they stay, where do they set up their offices, how to coordinate who does what. Makes my head explode just imagining it.

In the Patterson book Stacy Chapin said she went by the house the next morning and thought Ethan was still there. She found out later that he'd already been moved.

I noticed that too. I have no criticisms of how LE handled the crime scene. They were exemplary.
But I have seen crime scenes where LE blocks off all the surrounding streets. LE vehicles are 'everywhere' and crowds of people start gathering. News reporters start showing up pretty fast too. Perhaps since the victims had been deceased for about 8 hours by then, LE had no reason for a show of force.

He murdered four vibrant human beings that day. He murdered enduring they would have gone on to become.

And he murdered innocence.

All so senseless. He was never going to be successful at much of anything, it's maddening thst he thought he was entitled to do what he did, like he was some power ninja.

He was nothing but a coward.

And now he thinks he’s entitled to special treatment in prison: he thinks he’s entitled to peace and quiet, entitled to no hazing, and entitled to special meals. OMO.

The key thing is there was tons of DNA. What had been previously reported in the media was just plain wrong.
Real question. How do you see what was reported as "wrong"? Way back when media said there was "trace" DNA under the snap on the sheath, they didn't say that was the only DNA and they didn't say it was"a trace of" DNA. In a case like this, i don't consider omission of information the same as being wrong. BUT I do find (like "imperceptible" somehow equaling "miniscule") that if one media source runs with something incorrect, they all seem to run along behind.

If the truth is that "There was trace DNA under the snap AND there was blood and sweat and other bodily fluids, plus hair and other things", then "There was trace DNA under the snap" is correct, just not complete. How is that wrong?

Totally, totally agreed on all of this. I don't think he was set on any one person to that extent. It was everything, it was the house, the victims, the violence, the horrors, he'd get the deranged rush. If he was set on just one victim, no way he'd have entered with DD, no way. But jmo.

[bbm]

what is DD?

Just want to clarify that Kaylee moved out like two weeks prior… it’s not like she moved out months ago. I think people are putting too much into that line of thinking. There’s a chance he didn’t know Kaylee had moved out…. So with that, I don’t think we can automatically rule out Kaylee as not being the intended target.

plus her bed was still there
unless it came with the room

He waited till she left, then he entered by use of the slider.

yes I think there was some missing words or I just misunderstood this sentence

If he was set on just one victim, no way he'd have entered with DD, no way. But jmo.

Yes, re there being misinformation in MSM and certainly in social media.

Jmo
I think almost definately Howard Blum was the source of the wrong info; specifically the very precisely claimed assertion there were only 20 skin cells recovered from the snap button of the sheathe! This misinformation, which Imo he claimed from an anonymous source, seemed to stick and was repeated around social media as if a fact. I believe a number of the more sensationally inclined msm outlets may have at times speculated on the basis of Blum's false info. Jmo

If I'm remembering correctly Blum's various writings included a weekly series called "When Idaho Slept" which is subscription only. I'm pretty sure from past comments from his subscribers here at WS, that this is where he first asserted the 20 cell fallacy. This is subscription only so I cannot link. At one point in 2023 his writings were approved for discussion here. They are mostly obsolete now I guess. Thankfully.,. Jmo

IMO because breaking and entering, controlling life and death, overpowering an incapacitated victim are part of the sexual motivation. In fact, IMO that is the sexual event.

He was willing to take risks toward that end, though I think he just hadn't factored for KG being in the bed too, and that alerted Murphy and the other roommates -- for all of his preparation, it was grossly and poorly planned.
I wonder what would have happened, if KG had been in her own room in bed, and BK snuck into MM's room and attacked?

I am pretty sure KG and Murphy would have heard the commotion. She might have been able to run downstairs and get help, and call 911, and fight much harder at that point, and If Ethan and Xana and Kaylee were all fighting him at once, standing up and awake, it might have been a different outcome.

BBM
He was false on so many things:
*No butt on chair.
*BK wasn't followed/tracked across the country.
*Police pulled him over wasn't a LE plan.
*Fixler stated counting steps up to Maddies room on XK's watch was wrong. That was something Blum wrote about.
*20 cell fallacy
*According to Blum, one of Kohberger's sisters confronted their father about her suspicions that Bryan might be involved, but her concerns were reportedly ignored.
*LE didn't go to a neighbors garbage for evidence.
*LE said they never saw a bleach bucket that Blum said BK used.
I'm sure there is more......
