To add...

" 'The Idaho Murders'
is expected to focus on the month-long investigation that led to Kohberger’s arrest.

'After four University of Idaho students are brutally murdered in their off-campus home,
detectives race against time to identify the killer.
The investigation eventually uncovers chilling clues that lead to Bryan Kohberger (Merry),
a seemingly quiet criminology PhD student, as the only suspect',
the Lifetime synopsis reads.

The film is expected to begin production this month."

And more here. You’ll have to scroll a bit for some. State of Idaho v. Bryan C. Kohberger

The motion about restitution -- that's just GROSS.

AT cites online donation platforms (crowdsourced funds going to certain families to pay travel expenses, etc). Says BK doesn't have any money, don't be earning any money so he shouldn't be responsible? I guess, for monies they already received.

GROSS.

Through no fault of their own and through the sole fault of BK, their lives were upended. Not every family has the resources to front-end the cruel costs foist upon them by his cold actions. Hotel rooms, funeral expenses, airline tickets, lost wages -- all because of him. BK and his record shouldn't benefit from the generosity of the public who tried only to soften the financial blow of families whose emotional lives were blown apart by BK's sick, selfish, cowardly attack.

Ugly soul.

I apologize that I haven't had as much time to keep up on this case (long and messy move/sale) so this might have already been addressed... Does anyone know anything about the knife on the ping pong table in the docs MassGuy posted? I'm guessing they checked it for prints. I'm thinking Xana's prints might have been on it as a weapon to fend BK off, and she dropped it? Either that or some random person's prints are on it from a previous party and it was left there. Just curious about that.

It was a knife used by the student who was checking the house in the morning if IRC.
(He took it from the kitchen in case the perp was still lurking in the house.)

His first name was Hunter.
I don't remember the surname.

Oh, I remember now him saying he grabbed a knife. Thanks for refreshing my memory, @Dotta. :)

I'm sure most of you know this info (weapon imprint), but I didn't so posted it in the event it helps others.

From MassGuy's doc: : Madison Mogen wound near sternum held closed to show weapon imprint
  • Sharp pointed objects penetrate the body producing:
    • Entrance wound: may show additional injuries due to the blunt mechanism of the knife's handle or guard (patterned injuries, abrasions, bruises, etc.)
    • Wound track, usually with a dead end
    • Rarely, an exit wound; for example, stab wounds to the upper extremities or high energy stab wounds (e.g. arrows)
  • No tissue bridges are present in the center of the wound
    • Critical feature to differentiate stab wounds from laceration
  • When the knife is twisted into the body before withdrawal, there may be peculiar wound shapes: V, L, Y or irregular
  • Imprint abrasions from the handle can be present (handle's mark) (Italian Journal of Legal Medicine 2012;1:4)
    • Indicates that the entire blade penetrated the body
    • Requires vigorous pressure
Unsure if any of the above is they imprint they were trying to capture by holding the wound closed.

I think this is going to be from the “crossguard” which prevents your hand from slipping down the blade. So on a deep enough strike, that guard would probably leave some sort of rectangle shaped imprint.

Ethan’s injuries surprised me a bit. The chest wound was new, as were the scalp wounds, ear wound, and wounds to his hands/wrist.

We’ve been led to believe he was killed instantly by that neck wound (it typically doesn’t work like that), but it appears he did try to defend himself.

This also explains his apparent change in position at some point.

I appreciate @MassGuy for discovering these docs, but I had to stop scrolling almost immediately. Even just the description of Maddie with the toe tag is making me visualize this all too much.

A couple of things I noticed from these new documents.

They all seemed to have fought back. Ethan did not die instantly as I think we all surmised.

Kaylee suffered different injuries than the others in addition to stab wounds. He was absolutely brutal with Kaylee.

They all suffered wounds to the head and face. Very personal.

Isn’t that the knife Hunter took from kitchen for protection when he was unsure if the perpetrator was still in the house and when LE arrived he placed it on ping-pong table?

Added: sorry. I read on and noted that others answered ahead of me. 🥴

Savage hits the nail on the head.

He was extremely savage.

I'm troubled by this, particularly XK's head fracture and EC's defensive wounds. We were led to believe, sort of dumbing down the whole situation, that they were killed in their sleep. Not so. Murder is brutal but that was surprising. JMOO

I know she was doing a court-appointed job but I don't have warm feelings for AT right now.

She didn't need to say she believed he was innocent.

She knew he wasn't.

She could have represented him while making no such statement.

He's not just guilty, he's guilt-on-steroids guilty. Animalistic.

Revolting.
