Police say parents are not answering vital questions #3

  • #241
I would not wish to be ever in that situation (I still try to shelter my children from hearing the most awful news) but I think if a child was passionate about taking part in a search it could probably be arranged so that he can feel like he's doing something but with minimal likelihood of him coming across anything terrible. For instance, choose areas that have already been searched, where a lot of people walk their dogs and would probably have found it already or where the body probably isn't, based on available information. But I want my children to think about their toys and friends and not severed heads.

I hope the march is peaceful.

F WIW...The 1st amendment to the Constitution, among other things, gives folks the right to assemble....this in turn gives folks the right to gather in the public easement to pray, protest or whatever as long as it is peaceful.

There is that fine line between the right to assemble and disturbing the peace depending on where you live. You cannot disrupt others with your assembly here and you would also need a permit to assemble on public property unless it was property normally used for assembly. I am not sure how MO is but here you need a permit to do a lot of things unless its held at places like parks and even then there is rules depending on hours they are open, how many people are involved ect. You can't just stand outside of peoples houses and assemble if you are disrupting their daily lives.

Absolutely! If my child felt compelled to be involved. I don't shelter them from the grisly realities of this world. Instead I try to teach them that people are mostly good. . .unfortunately, there are some messed up people in this world. There are people that don't share our values either, I helped my oldest do a report on abortion. She searched and I didn't censor it at all. I want her to form her own opinions based on what's out there. I don't regret any of my decisions when it comes to my kids. Let them seek their own truth. Let them explore the realities and make their own decisions. If that means that in their heart they feel compelled to search for an innocent child that was decapitated by an evil in this world, then so be it. Who am I to hide the truth from them? Who am I to try to squash the good that comes from their hearts? Nobody said it was easy being a parent. And this is just my own personal philosophy. I want my children to be prepared for this world. . .and sadly that means both the good and the bad.

You don't regret any of your decisions when it comes to your kids?

I do. Choices that were made that were learned from and I became a better parent for.

I haven't heard or seen anything that claims Edith was in D/J's radar. I don't think they singled her out in particular. They wanted this 'gathering' to be moved elsewhere. It doesn't matter what the reasons were, it should have been respected and they should just have moved on. No need for words to be shouted or anger to take over. Edith is not saying anything negative about Deb or Jeremy as far as I have seen, neither are they about her.
People deal with situations differently, depending on their social status, education, knowledge of situation, experience, emotional state etc... It doesn't matter what you or others would or have done. Deb and Jeremy are doing what they are doing for reasons that, even though some fine ominous, aren't necessarily. Everyone has their opinion as to why, how, what, who and so on...but the reality is, we don't KNOW, we just assume.

I think that if they are asking for the prayer vigils to be moved from their yard, that she is on their radar. Otherwise how could this be? She isn't on their radar, so they didn't ask for her to move? That's not what happened. Please explain any other rational explanation. If she isn't on their radar than she isn't on their radar and they wouldn't know to ask her to move on.

People are free to say what they think DB/JI's motive were to do that. But please don't pretend like they didn't even know she was there and couldn't have asked her to move. Clearly they did.

I do not condone this, I think these people that want to pray for this child to just go somewhere else. The parents could care less about any prayer vigils or much of anything that concerns their missing child. I was simply pointing out that just as DB and JI have the right to remain silent, other folks also have the right to have their voices heard, yes, they may need a permit. JMO.

Edith has mentioned Penguin Park. Does anyone know why? I have seen this mentioned elsewhere but don't know if it was discussed here or not.

Like I said, they didn't ask HER in particular to move along - they asked that the 'gathering' move along. If they would have said 'Please continue your vigil, but Edith has to go.." that would be radar.

She was the one told about the choice because she was the one organizing the "vigils".

It's the most popular children's park in the area. It is a very fitting place to pray for a wee one as she should be here to enjoy it. I wish she was.

Dang, that really puts a damper on a request for a web cam like in the olden days of the Casey Anthony Saga......

It's a well known children's park in the Northland. It's an iconic park with a cool playground. Used for lots of public events.

HLN reporting rigth now. Another child raped, tortured and killed. Parents cleared immediately through poly.

don't know the 7-year-old Jorelys Rivera (Canton, GA) case is on HLN: [ame="http://www.websleuths.com/forums/showthread.php?t=156402"]Found Deceased GA - Jorely Rivera, 7, Canton, 2 Dec 2011 - Websleuths Crime Sleuthing Community[/ame]

However, parents cleared immediately through poly is not the case here, at least what is being reported so far. Father is in PR, mother is in GA

Nope. My kids are amazing. My oldest has consistently scored in the top 1% in the nation. She is currently being recruited by many top universities. I think MIT will be her choice. I don't have any regrets. Both the good and the bad has contributed to who she is as a person. I never sheltered her, I never censored her opinions. She had a rough year in 5th grade. But I always supported her own logical thought process. She never proved me wrong. I don't regret anything.

Couldn't the media pay a neighbor to have the webcam placed on the neighbors property but focused onto JI's house?

Isn't that convenient? Edith was never on their radar, but they asked the vigils to move on. Considering she is at the center of those vigils and people are claiming that it was her erratic behavior that made the parents ask for the vigils to move, I'm not buying it.

Still at the center of all this is the fact that DB and JI haven't drug their a** down to police headquarters and answered questions to bring Lisa home. The rest of this is just diversionary BS.

Edith Schmeetha. . .where the he)) is Lisa?
