The National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs)

Circumstances of Recovery- Decedent was discovered by a landscaping crew who came across a tent in the woods. Upon opening the tent, the decedents remains were found. The area is noted to have been a homeless camp at one time, as there were multiple tents in the area. The tent the decedent's remains were found in was red, black, and gray.

I googled “red, black, and gray tent”, just out of curiosity, to see if I could find a brand and model, that could help narrow down a time frame, but there are dozens of tents with the same colors. I did find something interesting though… In 2010, a homeless man got a search warrant executed on a “red, black, and gray tent”, in a wooded area off Clearlake Road (Cocoa). According to other articles, this gentleman came to Florida in 2006 and, when served in 2010, LE was not able to contact any relatives. I couldn’t find any info past 2011 when the charges against him were dropped.

So, I know there are tons of “red, black, and gray” tents, but, since our JD was found at a homeless camp, I wonder if Mr. DD could be the our JD? Or… Maybe just a coincidence.

I don't know much about camping, but could a tent withstand 13 years of constant use and being outdoors this entire time in all sorts of weather?

I did Google that. Depending on the material, some tents can last a lifetime with continuous use. We don't know in what condition the tent was, just its colors.

Interestingly, this tent was found just a bit south where Aileen Wuornos was shacked up and later arrested, probably no more than a mile or two.
