Possible lead in Susan Powell case, 8-18-11

I remember JP making statements about how he had to go shopping because he had to replace items LE took in the search. Bedspred, phone, etc. But, I can't remember if that would have been in his car or the rental.

former neighbor Tim Peterson audio interview states that he was the one who took Josh to get his van back from the police, mentions Josh’s frustration about having to replace the bedspread, cellphone (apparently not frustrated about his wife being missing though)

........................... He really sounds as though he resented her a lot, he thinks he is saying nice things about her, but the undertone of how he belittles her comes through. She likes to help people (by styling their hair), but doesn't mind hurting people like her sons, family and friends by leaving without any explanation. Also Steven Powell said something during the honk and wave confrontation about considering a "50 faces of Susan" on their website.

Whee does all this hate come from? Why does Josh hate her so much? Why does his father hate women s much? If we could figure out this underlying pathology and figure out this weird case.

Doesn't it get chilly in the desert overnight during the summer? I am thinking about the boy scout who recently got lost in the desert and covered himself with dirt to stay warm. I can't remember if it was in Utah.

BBM above, I basicly live in the same kind of area as where Susan went missing, heck I am backed up to the desert and yes it gets chilly in the evenings in the summer, and it is freezing literally in the winter. We had mostly single digits all winter.

If Susan called Jennifer (Josh's sister) to tell her of Steven Powell's advances on her, which led to their moving out of Steven's house and to move to Utah -- how could Josh not know about himself and how could he possibly maintain a relationship with his father? That is really disturbing.

Just my opinion, but occasionally it is healthy to do a little pruning of the family tree for the health of the tree.

With a dad like Steve the only way Josh could have made it in life was to escape him and his influence. Trust me Josh knows deep down inside he was wrong about whatever he did to Susan. He was talked into that and pressured to do something about it by his Dad. Susan was the one true love of his life and he failed. His dad has a lot to do with this and he sat up his own son to do this there is no doubt in my mind!!!

The only way Josh can see it now is what he keeps hearing from his dad--talking about Susan negatively. I think Josh is/was projecting his hatred and resentment of his dad onto Susan. He could do something about Susan but not his dad, he's never been able to stand up to his sicko dad. Oh a very sick mind but Stevo's is sicker...he knows exactly what he's doing and done!

Josh is emotionally and mentally weak! He is Steve's puppet and there is a puppet master behind this! There is no doubt in my mind.

I say again, if Susan is/was alive Steve has her imprisioned somewhere and I hate to think what she may have gone through (or sold her into bondage for spite)

Powell and his father Steve have released copies of Susan Powell's alleged journal entries to the media.

Steve Powell tells ABC 4 News they are releasing them to refute Chuck Cox's claim that Susan was not suicidal..

The entries are not recent and were supposedly written by Susan when she was a young teenager.

In one alleged entry, Josh Powell claims that Susan had written she had "taken 10 Ibuprofen," but then later admitted that she "wasn't trying to kill herself." The Powells believe the alleged journal entries from Susan's young life show that she was a troubled and even sexually motivated woman,who could have easily run off with another man in December of 2009.
"It is imminently clear that Susan led a double life, from the time she was 13, 14, or possibly even 12," says Steve Powell.

Add to all of this two beautiful little boys to be molded into the same disgusting mess their father and gfather are. If there was anything good left of Josh, he would have stopped before Susan "disappeared". I so hope her parents can find a lawyer and judge who know right from wrong. We have seen over and over again children who do not win in these type of cases - it is time for things to change, starting with Susan's boys.

I'm glad this article came out at the same time the father was trying to make Susan look bad with her journals. That was somewhat vindicating! He seems like one horrible person. Oh, and BTW his songs are terrible!!!
Sigh... hope something gives soon in this case. Even if its just that the boys can see their maternal grandparent.

On the video from KUTV, the newsperson stated that Steven Powell questioned how the statements being made by friends and relatives about Steven's advances on Susan is going to help to find her. Yet, somehow he believes journal entries from age 12 will be more significant to finding Susan than what was happening during the time of her disappearance?

Powell, however, has conditions: His attorney must be present, and the FBI must pay the attorney.

Yea we know who was delusional. I was just thinking if they put so much weight in a journal of Susan's then later at a trial where there might be another journal more recent of Susan's with the real truth in it( used by the prosceution) how would they(puppet and puppet master) be able to say it wasn't true. Especially if it had all the info the friends say she told them.

What Steve is saying is that the journal shows the truth about Susan...well any newer ones written before she disappeared would obiviously be the truth too.

Someone might have those or a newer one and the puppet master has painted himself into a corner I do believe.

They will get theirs there is no doubt in my mind. It might take a while but Susan will get justice.

Does anyone know if LE are still searching in Ely today??

I think the Ely search has shook out the spiders from the webs, we have never seen Josh this verbal (which really must have been torture for him since he was know to be a chatterbox in the past)

I guess he's too narcissistic and self absorbed to realize in the court of public opinion it makes HIM seem more likely to want to harm Susan than his son!
Perhaps other "Julias" will come out of the woodwork (hopefully) and offer some hints as to where Susan's body can be found.

Sounds to ME he may even be deluding himself into being convinced they had an affair! Or perhaps that she was strongly attracted to HIM. Sigh.. scary how the human psyche works.
