Possible lead in Susan Powell case, 8-18-11

Interesting that he publicly whines about LE planting evidence in Ely. Sounds to me like he is worried that they will find something. But what?

Obviously, if they find her body there, it would not be planted. But maybe there is something else he tossed down one of those mines that he is now concerned about. The weapon? Her clothing?
His bloody clothing?

It would be better to throw those things in a dumpster .... which I believe may have been Susan's fate. Everything else may have been just obfuscation.

WOW! What a well written response. I will never read a word of what Susan wrote out of respect for her. My daughter just moved out and left behind her ramblings from her teenage years (she's only 19 now). This will never represent who she is 10 years from now and I would never let anyone read them. This should be criminal. I hope copyright action is taken.

What a wonderful friend of Susan's.

Bless her and hopefully, one day Susan will come home.

Interesting. Hello all. Haven't been here since last year. But have been following all along in various ways. Hope there is justice in this case. Sorry for the family and all they must feel every day.

If you can't trace either the van or the rental car, we just don't know. Or possibly is it as simple as Josh wouldn't tell when and what he did in that rental car? Maybe LE got surveilance video finally from someone in Ely, Nevada? Just guessing, I want the LE to solve this and her family to have her back for closure. Same with so many others missing sadly.

I'm leaning with investigators went through evidence again & possibly found a business video of the van/rental car on it in Ely, and had Josh told them he went to Ely, they wouldn't have to had made this a public event and all. Just guessing but is sounding close to me right now & I like the outcome. xoxo

There is nothing in my DD's that would embarrass her too much if it were leaked. [ I noticed that some pages were torn out already though.lol] She said I could read it and I loved it. But ONLY because I watched her grow up so I know the context. For anyone else it would be pretty meaningless. Sure, she talks quite a bit about how 'hot' Beau is, and then two weeks later, how 'hot' Carlos is, but that is how teen girls are. For anyone to ever take what she said in THIS diary and confuse it with how she will be as a wife and a mother is ridiculous.

But I am not throwing it away. She will treasure it someday imo. My mom gave me some of my old 'poems' a few Christmases ago and I loved seeing them again. It is like looking at yourself in another life.

Any emotional vulnerability that Susan had in 1998 would better explain how she got hooked up with Josh and married him rather than what happened to her when Josh took his toddlers camping in a blizzard, leaving two fans blowing on a wet spot, and forgot about going to work.

Alina is a younger sister of Josh. From what I've read all of the adult children (other than Jennifer Graves who lives in WVC with her husband) reside with Steven.

Maybe it is just me, but if I had someone who was incredibly flirtatious with me (inappropriately - like my child's spouse) the last thing I would do is to hug or kiss them in any manner. I would keep my distance to ensure no misunderstanding.

The family always referr to Jennifer by using her full name, probably stressing how she is no longer a Powell.

Alina is Josh's sister, I believe. She lives with Daddy too. I am sure that she must be as messed up as the rest of them, or she would not be able to stand living with them! Their accepted way of life includes eavesdropping on private conversations, looking the other way when a family member crosses moral boundaries or commits a crime, and taking giddy pleasure in defiling the character of anyone who searches for truth!

I am quite sure that if SP allowed LE to search without a warrant, they didn't do it before removing or cleaning up anything which could be useful in finding what happened to Susan.

They don't strike me as they type to seek psychiatric help or follow a doctor's orders. They would be too busy complimenting each other on how clever they all think they are.

I think that they all suffer from the same kind of delusions, so they truly believe that they are superior. If any of them are getting disability checks for a mental disability, I am sure they think that they "tricked" the doc who authorized it into thinking they were mentally disturbed.

Steve is not married. Long time divorced. His ex--T Powell--lives in Utah and she and Susan were close. I don't think Steve Powell has any power over her any longer. It was a long, contracted, bitter divorce and it really broke her in more ways than one.

Maybe that is why the old guy went and confronted Susan's parents the other day, in front of the reporters. To deflect suspicion off the main POI, but it back-fired, imho.

As far as the children living within the compound walls, it reminds me of the word "stepford.'

Susan was right, 'evil' is just the right adjective. It's just too bad she didn't realize it was ALL of the Powell clan, minus of course Jennifer and JP's bio mom.

I think she probably knew her situation was abusive, yet many women in the same type of situation don't realize how dangerous it is. I often wonder if the night she went missing, was when she told him she was leaving.

I also feel the car alarm going off was Susan pushing the panic button on the keys, as she struggled.
