Possible lead in Susan Powell case, 8-18-11

Considering Josh's proactive claim of LE setting him up with planted evidence in Ely, there just might be something in Ely.

Remember when LE said the search was "successful"?
I think that's what LE was alluding to.

I understood that you didn't just throw them "in the dirty laundry" with everything else (which is what Steven Powell is saying).
A co-worker, who I travelled with, washed hers nightly in the sink - after I'd taken my shower, and I had to promise not to open the shower stall until she'd retrieved them (dry) the next morning.

She said I couldn't see them and we couldn't mix our laundry, because I'd not gone through the temple.
I honored that. It didn't bother me.

In the Steven Powell home, Susan and Josh would have been the only ones to wear such garments, so wouldn't it be a problem if they were mixed in with other stuff?

Laytonian, as a member of the LDS faith, I can tell you that we do not all treat "garments" special in the manner of laundry. They will be washed with whites. As far as Susan goes, she was newly married, and newly using garments, I am not certain she would have separated her garments from the normal wash. Especially since it may have been Susan and Josh's laundry basked. I doubt that she did Steven's laundry too.

I think that when Isabelle wrote the article for the Examiner, she just didn't pay attention to the way that she worded the "🤬🤬🤬🤬" in the cabinet. I do not think that this means that as witnesses the friends will also word it the same way.

I think that since only ONE of the people interviewed stayed anonymous, but the fact that many of her friends reiterated the same thing, I sincerely believe that SP made passes at Susan. I also believe that JP is a total and utter wimp and would not listen to or defend his wife.

The fact that JP talked to his father many, many times just prior to Susan's disappearance makes me believe that SP had something to do with everything - even if it was only instruction and help in the planning.

Now if you were a loving husband who actually wanted his wife to be found wouldn't you be putting up fliers in every beauty supply? I hate how he turned her "love of beauty supplies" into a backhanded dig.

Not only that, but he chose the worst pictures of her to post on his website. What "loving husband" would post pictures of you right before/right after childbirth on a site that is supposed to honor his wife?

I think they both planned it too. Do you think they killed her or kidnapped her for SP?
The wet spot on the carpet did it reveal any DNA/blood stain? I don't recall the LE ever releasing any info.
Was SP visiting at the tie she went missing? Could he have raped her and they cleaned the carpet to remove DNA?
So many unanswered questions.

We don't even know exactly what date(s) he had the rental. Supposedly, "two days after Susan disappeared"...but what does that mean?

Two days from when JoVonna left the house, evening of Dec 6th?
Two days from when Susan didn't show up for work (morning of Dec 7th)
Two days from when Josh returned without her (evening of Dec 7th)

Whenever it was, wasn't it when LE had the minivan for testing?

Not that Josh had anywhere to go. But apparently he did have somewhere to go.

Yes, it was -- but he took an excellent opportunity to go on a road trip.
Isn't that what all concerned husbands of missing wives do?

I don't think SP was there that evening.
There are too many witnesses to events of that evening.
JoVonna left after Susan went to bed; he'd have had to arrive after that.
Neighbor sees Josh return from night-time sledding.
Another neighbor hears car alarm go off in garage, and looks out the window.

Doesn't mean he wasn't the Director to JP's Producer.

I am so disgusted by the Powell's reaction to the latest news, but not really shocked. The fact that JP took a pre-emptive strike crying about LE "planting" evidence gives me hope that LE is on the right track.

I've never been on their website before. How disgusting. Could they find any worse pictures of her to put on there? I don't even have words for how horrific that site is. And they profess to love her??? They have some serious issues and poor Susan ended up right in the middle of it and now her kids are being subjected to this crap. Seriously, I'm just sickened.

What was the big news about Susan Powell that was supposed to come out this morning? Tricia announced last night that there would be news and websleuthers were part of it...? Anyone?

As far as I can see it was further info about Steven Powell's relationship with Susan and his infatuation with her. Some of this was known but more has been verified and added. Throughout the posts are links to the news stories but that's the jist of it.

ETA: The reason some of it was known before is because of connections to Trish.

[snip]
He says if people post her picture in beauty supply stores it might help find her, because she allegedly had a deep love of beauty supplies. He also says that he believes that investigators have chosen to search the Ely desert and mines because they are planning on planting evidence against him.

Another of my favorite suspect statements.

LE doesn't have enough to do so they are making up crimes (she ran away after all) and going out to plant evidence to help accuse someone of that ficticious crime. Must be a slow day in crime and they are looking for things to do. Yeah rrriiiiggghhhtttt!!!

But this kind of self serving statement does provide an excuse if LE does find any evidence, anywhere at all. Because LE obviously "planted" the evidence.

I think at this point I am supposed to feel sorry for the P's. They are surrounded by crazy people who tell lies about them and LE is so bored they will run around and plant evidence to try to prove these innocent people guilty of a crime that didn't happen.

Sorry, I am not buying any bridges today and not interested in swamp land either. Not buying the stories.

Thanks :) I don't really follow the case, but I do remember when it broke. I was just curious what you all have been up to over here, Tricia made it seem very mysterious... Keep up the good work! :great:

Can someone help me to remember where I saw the petition link to take the Susanpowell.org site down? I would very much like to weigh in there!

TIA!

These Powell "men" are making me nostalgic for the old days, like in Chicago, when LE wanted some truth out of somebody...

Interesting that he publicly whines about LE planting evidence in Ely. Sounds to me like he is worried that they will find something. But what?

Obviously, if they find her body there, it would not be planted. But maybe there is something else he tossed down one of those mines that he is now concerned about. The weapon? Her clothing?
His bloody clothing?

The best defense is a good offense...... I think they are worried. LE must be getting close.

KEEP TALKING BOYS! :great:
