Possible Vandalism/Message To Daddy on Wall of Hope

Oh heck, Smooth, I didn't think you were being snarky--instead I thought you were being helpful. And I've been running in and out here too.

Yes, I'd like to see a picture of the entire banner/sign that shows the message, exactly where it is, etc. etc. So far haven't found one.

BTW, I talk fast and type fast and often miss stuff. :)

Yep, I figured such after I made that post I went back and reread yours and I thought.. HMMMmm... I bet she's talking about a "bigger" or less zoomed in so that you could tell EXACTLY which banner it was that the vandal had written on...

When I only have a min here or there sometimes thru the day, my being in a hurry causes me to start to type before I even fully think thru whats been stated or asked in a post(kinda speaking before thoroughly processing a thought, quite similar just in cyber terms.hehe:crazy:).. Forgive me.. At the time I just thought maybe as I, you were in a rush and didn't notice the pic on the news site..

But I wasn't posting to be snarky, rather just thinking its just like something I'd do to not even notice a darn pic right beside the news article ..

I personally think it was written by 2 people...

the "smiley" and word kisses are not like the handwriting in the other part of the note - look and compare the "s" and the "e".

The top part looks male to me - but the smiley and kisses look feminine (as far as writing styles)

I agree, every letter in that last line is formed differently than the corresponding ones in the note section. If you compare the I, L, Y, s, e, o, and u......each one is different than the other ones above that line.

I am speechless :furious:

What kind person would do that:furious:

My first thought could this be some heartless teenagers?

It was a good point about the dramatics, and the kisses and smiley signout does seem like something a teen girl would do more than any other demographic.

IMO if it's teenagers they might have been meaning well but just thoughtless. Maybe they wanted to write a comforting note to say that nobody can hurt Kyron now and he loves his father and they'll meet with Jesus one day and it would have been pretty normal if it was known for sure that Kyron is dead and it's "her" fault (I've seen messages like this many times) but because they're so convinced that "she" hurt him and he's in a better place it didn't occur to them to think what their note might feel like if you're a parent who's still holding on to hope that he'll come home alive.

So let me see if I got this right, someone wrote this message on the banner, and then tried to tear the banner down?? Or did someone SEE this message on the banner, and tried to tear the banner down??

Good Question. I initially took it that the note was totally separate from the sign; and, that it was found when someone found the sign torn down. I could very well be wrong. Can anyone clarify this if you know? TIA!! :waitasec:

A poster on the facebook site was claiming that she made up the "special K" nickname in her posts weeks ago. I don't have a clue if that is true or not, just saw that she was claiming it as "hers".

P as well.

"Multnomah County deputies are looking into possible vandalism at the Wall of Hope at Skyline School, where missing 7-year-old Kyron Horman vanished on June 4.

It appeared someone tried to rip down a handmade, laminated banner with the message "Helping Hands for Kyron."

"Other people who were visiting the Wall of Hope said they were upset about a message someone wrote on a sign. The message read, "I love you daddy. You will see me in another time and place where 'I' Kyron (Special K) is no longer in pain, where 'she' can no longer hurt me. Dad I am safe. I love you pop."

http://www.kptv.com/news/24513410/detail.html

This is very sad........... There needs to be hope at this time, and that message was very cruel.

If someone was trying to provide comfort, why only Daddy? Why not the other parents (leaving TH out of this for obvious reasons)?

Someone painted Kaine as the hero, and "she" (whoever that means, but I have my suspicions occam's razor applies here) as the villain.

Even a misguided attempt at comfort I would think would include at least DY, and probably TY too.

There was a point here.... Not an outpouring of genuine emotion.

I find this a bit creepy :shocked2:

the style of the writting is strange and not consistent

trying to think of how it would look if someone random was leaving a message to the family from kyron in a spontaneous moment

I think it would look more uniform with how dad, daddy or pop was used with either capital letters verses small case.....its strange how its mixed up like that.....also....why use the three differnt words for the same meaning...:waitasec:...also the special K part.....we havent heard of anyone like the locals using that term to describe Kyron....its very weird

also the underlining and other marks on certain words or just part of the word....some of the letters are differnt too.....weird

to me this is not a random spontaneous moment

Wow. I really didn't take this note in a bad way. It looked like someone was trying to write a comforting note to Kaine saying he is in heaven, and will see him again someday.

There are a lot of people who believe Kyron is dead (after 2 months, statistically it doesn't look good), and his stemom is responsible. (the "she" won't hurt me)

ETA: there have been mentions about getting the police involved in this and hoping they catch whoever did this. What exactly is it in the note that is illegal?

To me the handwriting does look feminine in a way. I have a friend who writes very similar to this...However - look at how hard the pen was used - letters are very broad...

(ETA: The above is what made me think male - the broadness/heaviness)

However in the word Kisses - it's written with a lighter touch. The letters are almost whispy (for lack of a better word).

I spent several minutes thinking about the message and reading your posts after reading the report before I realized why people think it's suspicious. I thought that the message was intended to reach out to Kaine and Desiree to send a message asking them to "let go" of Kyron, but after it sunk in, it seems more like the writer was trying to arouse suspicion of criminal involvement by using familiar codes "pop", "special k" and "she" if that means
anything at all. Going with theme of using quotation marks to draw attention to key words, it would seem that the writer wants us to believe that "pop" and "she" were familiar terms only known to the family, and if they were, then I imagine this will spark some investigation.

Yeah, because I'm sure no one else has ever come up with the nickname of Special K for someone whose name begins with K, except for the FB person. I hate to tell her this, but it's not uncommon at all. Heck, didn't Casey Anthony even refer to one of her friends as Special K (in that instance, seems like there was some talk that it might have been a drug reference).

Whoa. I have been keeping up with Kyron's story here at WS for a very long time. What you just said rushed goosebumps up my spine.

[edit/addition:]Kyron's "Wall of Hope" has been up for a while now, quite a long while. I don't see how there hasn't been more of this given that there are quite a bit of "tone-deaf" (that's the expression I heard here earlier) people in the world. I am sure many children have visited the wall as well, maybe they even wrote some things on the banner for Kyron. I don't understand how all of a sudden, just out of the blue, someone goes there and tries to rip it down and leaves discouraging messages to Ka.H on it.

Doesn't compute, but that's just me.

I think they are talking about "vandalism" or "defacing" property(if Im not mistaken I believe the "wall of hope" is on school property, the fence surrounding Skyline).

And I think most felt it was rather snarky and crude to be left on a tasteful banner in Kyron's honor..Along with the comment there were also tears in the banner where they were attempting to rip or tear down some of the banners..

But I do agree that this is being made into a much bigger deal than it truly, realistically is.JMO

BELOW IS YOUR REPLY TO THE ABOVE COMMENT

I'm truthfully at a loss of what your above post meant in response to Donjeta's post above yours:waitasec:

Would you mind giving further detail as to your feeling. It sounds as though you had a very visceral reaction to the post and just wanted to know exactly what it was..
TIA..

Maybe if I speak a little louder... (lol!)...

Does any body else think it's strange that the lower left corner is blacked out?

Did law enforcement possibly ask the media to cover up the corner of the pic for some reason?

It just looks kind of 'awkward' to me. Why is the corner of the pic blocked out? Something near the message they don't want the public to see?

OK, after rereading and looking at the photo again, it does appear the note was written on a sign already there. I'm not sure if it is the same one that was torn down since it was laminated.

I'm guessing there may have been another note or item there that made the "blacked out" looking section. Interesting question though.

It appeared someone tried to rip down a handmade, laminated banner with the message "Helping Hands for Kyron." The banner came from a Kindercare Center and was originally held up by 14 plastic binder ties.
The Wall of Hope is a display of flowers, supportive messages and other items placed there for Kyron.
Other people who were visiting the Wall of Hope said they were upset about a message someone wrote on a sign. The message read, "I love you daddy. You will see me in another time and place where 'I' Kyron (Special K) is no longer in pain, where 'she' can no longer hurt me. Dad I am safe. I love you pop."

I'm not seeing anything intentionally hurtful here.

I think the banner fell partially down because whatever it's tied with couldn't hold the weight of it (or a drunken/stoned teenager was being careless).

I think the message was written by a couple of stupid (stoned/drunk) teenagers who have possibly seen Kaine on the news at the Wall of Hope and/or whose parents know him & so they've overheard things like the name 'Special K'.

I think it was more than one person collaborating on what to write and I think they didn't realize the implications of their message because the word around their house is that Kyron is unfortunately gone to heaven.

I'm not really getting a vibe that this was anything creepy or coded.

I did wonder though, how long it would be before someone vandalized the Wall of Hope. I'm glad it was nothing more sinister.
