The circles look like a radar screen. Maybe that area is blocked for satellite viewing. The earth looks scorched. Were these originally testing grounds for bombs?

Geevee, I zoomed in as close as I could and there looks to be some brush in there. I think what we might be seeing is an area that had been overtaken by wildfire. If I got this right, your images are just west of Fillmore? Google Earth has the image dated 9/2011 and there was a large wildfire in 2007.

IMO, she burnt everything at Crater Lake. She had the bloody clothes in a bag in the trunk of the rental.

The gun (grandparent's) was ditched in the desert.

Oh, yes, makes perfect sense, a wildfire area, and being in an area like that would surely give any fabric/upholstery a burned smell.

I think she went to Crater Lake, but to hide the gun, I think she holds it quite dear and wouldn't get rid of it.

ETA: Would the area still smell like smoke in June of '08? Hmmmm...

She had to go around Provo before reaching W. Jordan, I wonder if, given her time of arrival at Ryan's (11:00 ish) that she waited for morning rush hour to be over before tackling that stretch of road past a good-sized city, maybe stopping somewhere around Santaquin or Salem.

A hearing for the penalty retrial date is scheduled for the morning of Aug. 26 - this coming Monday.

I feel like ALV felt like she schooled JM. I think she took shots at him, Time out comments and such to get back at him for how she felt he treated CMJA. I think that given the chance she would come back. She feels that she knows the real JA and that she is a victim. I almost can not even type that with a straight face.

I was happy to hear that JVM put the black mail together in her book. I believe that is the only reason she taped him.

To resolve: Arias was forbidden to use the internet after her conviction but as we know, she is nothing if not devious. She uses a proxy, whom she contacts by phone or mail, to contribute her content to a website in her name. Comes now the book club and in the light of the detailed and rather lengthy reviews she offers, she is using USPS to transfer them. Phone calls are a difficult challenge but jailhouse mail is not private, staff reads what goes in and out. Since she is defying the sheriff's internet prohibition by going round it and since the mail to and from Estrella is processed very slowly, staff could monitor content to ensure it is not flouting and violating the sheriff's order. Word for word, her reviews are plastered on the web in her name. If she & her correspondent assert she is merely sharing her thoughts with him, it is easy to prove that is not true~a snapshot of her letter and of the review once on-line. She is breaking rules expansively and deserves vigilant monitoring where this can be halted in transit. Arias is a hugely bad model & example to other law breakers, including the inmates she's housed with. (I can hear a Newton-John theme in the background, "Let's Get DE-vious!")

Haha. The sad thing about any phone calls or letters for posting is that CMJA should know everything is recorded. The good thing about it all is, Juan has copies and recordings and can use that at this 2nd sentencing phase. (Just saying what Tuba said really, but laughing at CMJA for not getting it when she got caught the first time. So much for being somewhat "smart". :biggrin

So they did the sex tape earlier in the day and then she sent the 'Steve' text to him "accidentally" and they argued through IM and text? I didn't know both occurred on the same day.
