Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to marry in the spring

Typically these dresses give the illusion of the top being sheer. Mine is lined in a nude color. I have a feeling this one is well. Very popular in dresses. They look lovely together. I wish them well and look forward to hearing what great work they accomplish together.

I hadn't noticed the "sheerness" of the bodice until it was mentioned here. The bodice is lovely; I just don't care for the frilly skirt. Meghan is gorgeous, to be sure

I am the oddball. I do not like the pictures at all. She seems to be too old looking for Harry. I don't find her pretty at all nor do I find her ugly.
Despite my negative opinions, I do wish them a happy life.

I like the dress it's very elegant and suits (get it "Suits"! sorry) her very well. And I'm pretty sure she got a good "deal" on it, the publicity it will get round the world is worth a fortune to the designer. But it is a tad "evening wear" and it doesn't sync with the blue suit Harry is wearing, either in colour or the fact he's in day wear. They don't have to be wearing matching Christmas jumpers ( a la Woman's Weekly) but a little co-ordination would look better. But it's always going to be difficult with colours when you marry a ginge.

It's a tricky line for the royals as regards spending, it's recognised that the royal women can promote and help the fashion industry and that later the clothes can always be auctioned for charity, and people would be disappointed if they looked like everyone else. But a lot of people in real hard jobs have had no wage rises FOREVER here and the cost of housing is crippling. So the royal family has to balance things by working for the disadvantaged, like the Grenfell victims and disabled people, as with the Invictus games.

I just hope Meghan gets good advice re THE dress, the wedding dress, you can't wear a Carolyn Bessette evening type wedding dress in St. George's Chapel. It needs a decent train as there is the huge stairway up to the entrance so it will have to have some sort of formality. Sophie Wessex had a lovely very fine veil and shot a backward glance as she ascended the steps which looked really elegant. That would be something I would copy.
I really liked Sarah Ferguson's dress, gorgeous material and the bees were a nice personal touch.

The last two are of Princess Anne, the Queen's only daughter (Harry's aunt) and Captain Mark Phillips. They later divorced and Anne re-married an equerry. There are very few glam photos of Anne! she is famed for wearing outfits that were last seen in 1973, they last as she is a horsewoman and only rarely dresses up. She's also known as a hard worker and is a no-nonsense type. She would probably have made a good queen.

The late Princess Margaret (the Queen's younger sister) was genuinely stunning as a young woman but isn't really known for anything else but her chequered love life. She made the most of all her privilege.

As for Kate, she doesn't need to be as conservative as she is. As a young girl she looked good with a bit more weight on her and an excellent taste in boots. She's too thin now although being in the public eye would be enough to give anyone an eating disorder, you cannot win with the media. I hope Meghan livens her up a bit rather than Kate dulling Meghan down.

She also seemed to do a very good job of raising her children, which says a lot about her character.

Today, many Americans seem to forget that British royalty are traditionally leaders of their country, not celebrities or entertainers. Like political leaders in the US they're supposed to be intelligent, responsible adults who help lead their countries and promote good relationships with other nations.

Government and royalty are not supposed to be like reality TV or soap operas, but unfortunately some think they are.

I agree with you about Princess Anne. I've always admired her intelligent, mature approach to serving as a royal. She would have made a good queen. No drama , scandals or publicity seeking from her. She also seemed to do a very good job of raising her children, which says a lot about her character.

Today, many Americans seem to forget that British royalty are traditionally leaders of their country, not celebrities or entertainers. Like political leaders in the US they're supposed to be intelligent, responsible adults who help lead their countries and promote good relationships with other nations.

Government and royalty are not supposed to be like reality TV or soap operas, but unfortunately some think they are.

I admire how the Royal family handled the war. That is class, leadership, courage.

In common with most if not all of the Royal Family, William and Harry are very fond of killing animals for 'fun'. Diana, Princess of Wales is the only one I am aware of loathing the slaughter. They may not be endangered species, but they are lives nonetheless, and whilst William's campaign to save endangered species is very welcome, it would be nice (and more credible) if he and the rest of his family valued the lives of all creatures.

I'm not convinced it will be a traditional wedding dress. She's a divorcee, which I believe is why they are marrying in St. George's Chapel. Had she not been, I am fairly certain they would have had St. Paul's or Westminster Abbey and we'd have had an extra bank holiday. I think it would look rather odd for her to wear a big dress with an enormous train and do the whole virgin bride thing!

People quit hunting all of the time. They even go from meat eating to vegetarian to vegan.

If he was a private individual, the transition may be easier. With the eyes of the nation on him, it may be more dufficult. However, blood sports are getting less and less acceptable.

Because Meghan doesn’t like blood sports that have nothing to do with providing food or reducing overpopulation and Harry is respecting her feelings? I can’t imagine that they wouldn’t have discussed this well before their engagement. Perhaps she has convinced him to rethink his previous enjoyment of chasing and killing animals. Royal tradition doesn’t make it right.

ETA: I wonder if the report is even true. Are these reputable sources? I guess it seems odd that Meghan would buck royal tradition before she’s even married. She knew what she was marrying into, even if she hates this part of it. According to one source, Harry went boar hunting in Germany recently. I think this may be faux news.
