Prince Harry is the most popular member of the Royal Family. :loveyou: :heartluv:

“But Thomas Jr, speaking at his home in Oregon, told DailyMail.com that Harry's incendiary charge was far from the truth.
'She's had a really good family,' he said.

'We were as close as we could be, as tight as we could be, that's what we were.
'We'd get together on Christmases, on holidays, on birthdays, on Thanksgivings… It was always somewhere, even though we lived in different parts of the city [Los Angeles] – we still all got together.

'Obviously, she had a family. She was very privileged. She got everything she ever wanted. We did the best that we could in terms of getting together for holidays and whatnot.'
Of their father, retired lighting director Thomas Markle Sr, 73, he added: 'My father will be extremely hurt, actually.

'He dedicated the majority of all his time and everything to her. He made sure she had what she needed to be successful and get to where she's at today.'
Thomas Jr's comments echo those made by his estranged sister Samantha Grant, 53, of Ocala, Florida, who said on Wednesday that Meghan has a 'large family who were always there with her'.

I saw that comment from Harry about the family. I'm not sure he really meant it the way it came out (I'll give him the benefit of the doubt) but it was really an unfortunate thing to say. Hopefully it gets smoothed over.

I think its terrible that the media is obsessed with this idea of whether Obama or Trump will be invited, etc. Good grief, leave American politics out of their wedding! The media is just trying to stir up trouble for a story where none exists.

If the President is invited I think he should send the First Lady to represent the U.S.A I don’t think anyone would complain about that happening on either side of the Atlantic.

I wonder how many of these people will actually be invited to the wedding?

I don't follow them closely, but the only family member she seems close to is her mom. I don't recall seeing any pictures of her with any other family members.

It is going to be interesting for sure. It was claimed in the Daily Mail some family members plan to gatecrash the wedding if they aren’t invited. Good luck trying to get through intense security.

The controversy sells paper, gets online clicks. That's the point.

The write the stories that sell. If nobody bought the papers or clicked on the stories, those stories wouldn't get coverage. jmo

Really? I hadn't heard that. How embarrassing for Meghan.

I wonder if the royal who wore the blackamoor brooch will be invited.

That woman knew *exactly* what message that brooch would send.

So what would have made Harry say that about her family? Did Meghan feed him this?

No doubt many dislike him after all of his antics, especially dressing up as a nazi

That could very well be what happens.

BBM That was disgusting. I'd like to say I can't believe she did that, but she has a history. I agree, she knew EXACTLY what she was doing. I'm hoping as she is from a fading generation that her ugliness didn't mar the day for Meghan or Prince Harry. She should be kicked out of the compound if she's going to conduct her racism so brazenly.

Presumably he's got the idea from somewhere. It's not the sort of thing one simply makes up out of the blue.

TBH it wouldn't surprise me if she has massaged her background somewhat to him - it's what social climbers from ordinary backgrounds often do.

However I imagine the security investigations behind the scenes would have established her exact family background and relationships precisely to avoid future embarassments and suchlike. Let's hope Harry didn't stamp his foot and override any concerns about her and her family, and that something isn't going to blow up in future.

IIRC her father was in the SS. There was quite a scandal when it came out around the time of her marriage.

WOW! Interesting story, lots of information about Megan’s family, and photos. I've been watching The Crown, on Netflix. I personally would not want to be in that family, "The Royals". I would hate to give up my freedom. I'm wondering if Harry meant his family is the rich family Megan never had. It will be interesting to see if her Dad will walk her down the aisle, and if her family will be invited.

Nothing suggests that Ms. Markle is a social climber. She has friends in the same social circle as Prince Harry. They were introduced and fell in love under difficult circumstances. I think they are a lovely couple and what her family is doing is despicable.

From the Daily Fail ;) , but the book is real:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5222321/Meghan-Markle-volunteered-Skid-Row-13.html

In the book 'The Game Changers: Success Secrets from Inspirational Women Changing The Game and Influencing The World,' Prince Harry's fiancee spoke of her life acting, running her website and volunteering at a young age.

"'I started working at a soup kitchen in Skid Row of Los Angeles when I was 13 years old, and the first day I felt really scared. I was young, and it was rough and raw down there, and though I was with a great volunteer group, I just felt overwhelmed,' explained the former Suits star, 36."

"Meghan was recognized for her work as women's ambassador to the UN and founder of the lifestyle website The Tig as well as as a TV actress"
