I am not understanding this wedding thing.
What is this father giving the daughter away all about? Seriously. Time to get rid of that crazy notion now,
I was married in 1973 and did not have that. What an archaic idea. The father owns the daughter or what is the meaning of that?
I also hate the bridal veil. So much like the burqa to me
Time for women to say that they belong to no one. If it is about a strong bond, then a mother should do just as well or if none of those, a neighbor, etc.
The Queen is not amused.
I wouldn't be impressed either. I'm sure special considerations have been put in place. Then this last minute! And now I "might" come. Lordy! Make up your mind dude.
Time for women to do what they want and for other women not to shame them for it.

He got her into the movie industry. If it weren't for him she would not be where she is. I hope she offered him money. The daughter who's been giving all the interviews said the other evening on tv news that her father was basically penniless and was waiting for a $$windfall to be sent so he could buy plane tickets. She mentioned how he drove
his old, beat up car up to Ca. and was waiting for the money. So maybe Meghan did call and offer him more $$.
I wonder if the royals especially Harry are second guessing this family. They should be, IMO.

Well I love it that the father gives away the bride. It has nothing to do with owning the daughter, never heard of that before. I also love a veil. To compare it to a burqa is ludicrous. I hope he comes.
To me who had nice parents and my kids who have fabulous in laws, I can say this drama is ludicrous. In this day when everyone knows everything instantly, the ugliness cannot be hidden.
Her father worked in Hollywood, home of all kinds of antics. He is no shrinking violet or he would have been replaced with hundreds of other people who wanted his job.
He is not a child who can keep changing his mind. He is a full grown adult.
What kind of disgusting is this? Playing games with photographers. Probably pretending to be sick. Yes, no, yes.
Does he have his plane tickets because a last minute will be pricey. Of course, Meghan will pay so it hardly matters.
Where was his suit made? Tried on? Arrangements to brought to the plane and picked up in London?
Practice time? Dinners or whatever other festivities?
For someone who is supposed to be so reclusive, he is quite the center of attention. Come on, get some dignity here.
Also, quit talking about the wedding to anyone but Meghan and a liaison from Kensington Palace. Don't talk to any media, any papparazi, or even his own children who have already proven that they can't be trusted to act mature in this matter.
Plane tickets, suit, a hotel, or even a room in a royal-owned house in the country, should have been organised by Kensington Palace. Meghan's family aren't millionaires like other royalty or even Kate's family. I think they should have had him over here by now, shut in a country house and not allowed out without a protection officer who could steer him clear of photographers. They should have taken away his phone and had all calls through the house circuit so that callers could be screened, and they should have banned him from talking about all these things happening!
I'm not even comfortable with Meghan's mum talking to Oprah, though I do think Oprah probably has a bit more nous for how to do things in a less trashy way.
