This is an interesting opinion about the travails of Thomas Markle Sr. I’m not sure I agree, but the gist is that he is being treated as a money-grubbing opportunist by the British press because he is an American. The Middleton’s have benefitted from their connections, but are treated fine. Whatever.

It seems Mr. Markle’s son and daughter manipulate and play games and he gets in the middle of it. I wonder if he is an enabler with them?

I can’t find any MSM carrying the story about Thomas Markle’s surgery scheduled for early Wed morning that doesn’t quote TMZ. It’s as if they have exclusive access to him. I really wish he would speak to a reputable news source and clear this up once and for all.

My late husband had 2 stents put in on 2 separate occasions. Each time he was taken to ICU afterwards for one day and 2 days in a regular hospital room. I would think Mr. Markle will be in the hospital 2 to 3 days unless he is having heart catherization (sp.?) done and then would be maybe a day and a half. This is just going on personal experience only. May very well be different in different places.

I would like to place a bet that Meghan walks down the aisle alone so that all the attention will be on herself and her wedding gown.

I will be satisfied to just watch snippets of the wedding on TV after the fact. I am just not as interested in it as I was when Diana and Charles were wed or when Kate and Wills were wed.

I really think Harry is making a mistake and am surprised the Queen approved it.

I think he shouldn't be talking to any news sources at all. Kensington Palace could have put out a simple press release saying that he's undergoing surgery and wouldn't be able to make the wedding.

As for the difference in treatment of the Markles vs the Middletons, I don't think it has anything to do with the Markles being American!

To be fair there have been upper class toff friends of people like Diana giving press interviews. Then there's the York family. Trailer trash/chav behaviour isn't limited to only poor people, but not all poor/working class people behave like trailer trash/chavs.

And it won't have helped that they've been sidelined and marginalised. The best thing would have been for the media to ignore the Markles and just report on the wedding. Too much of the media is trash itself. I strongly dislike papparazzis and all the stories about celebrities and relatives of celebrities and people who are famous just for being famous.

April 1996 or 1997, I cannot remember, I married at The Little White Chapel in Las Vegas, I was 31 and making a huge mistake. LOL I loved my dress, it was all lace and this is the only pic I have left.

The company that took our wedding photos a couple weeks prior to the big day blew one up of the both of us to poster size and displayed it in the mall for advertising, they did not even ask permission and I found out from clients who had seen it.
We went to the mall and there it was in all it glory and huge. lol
I ended up tossing it in a dumpster as no regular bin would hold it.

I had something similar happen when I went to a fishing expo and bought a certain fishing lure that was really unique. I had emailed the small independent manufacturer person a photo of me that caught a really large bass using his lure.

The lure really is a great lure and I shared a photo of the fish to show him how much I liked his lures.

Well about two years after that I had went to the same fishing expo which was a yearly event and I found the same vendor and I was buying a few more of his lures and noticed he had all these photos of people using his lures to catch fish. There I was on the wall being used as advertising. LOL

I didnt mind because he was such a small outfit but it did make me wonder if someday I would be more mainstream. LOL

I am looking forward to watching a little bit of the wedding.

The last royal wedding I remember watching was William and Kate.
I remember it pretty well and the thing that still strikes me about that particular wedding is the hats some wore. LOL

The news media made such a fuss about the hats that it made me begin to notice them and critique them while watching TV.

The other thing I remember very well was her sister Pippa. She was a very pretty young lady and really stood out. I dont think she intended to stand out as much as she did and I still wonder if there is some resentment from Kate about all the attention Pippa got.

The little children were a nice touch for the wedding. I remember a couple little ones there.

Overall it was a beautiful wedding.

I suppose I am interested in this wedding coming up for Harry to see how it compares. Should be interesting and I am sure will be just as extravagant.

IMO her Dad likely had chest pain. Not a heart attack. Blockages may have been found and resulting in supposed stent surgery. Had he had a heart attack the surgery would have been immediate. He strikes me as a man with an unhealthy lifestyle. I'm just going off pics of him and his purchases. If this is true I wish him well and hope he adopts a healthier lifestyle.

Ordinarily, I would agree, but the Lifetime movie about Harry and Meghan was actually quite good. I finally watched it last night, and, in fact, DH watched most of it, too. Sans over-the-top villains or villainesses and cheesy plot lines usually seen in Lifetime flicks, Harry and Meghan: A Royal Romance presents the couple as being true soulmates who strive to overcome their inherent differences and focus on their passion for humanitarian causes. BDE rating: B+

People can change, I think she deserves a chance. Maybe she sparkles and shines, and does some good. Maybe she tanks and makes a mockery of the crown. Either way, I think we're in for a heck of an interesting watch, so grab some heavily buttered popcorn and enjoy the show.

What about her previous marriage? He is developing a show with Fox about a man whose ex moves to London to marry a prince!
