I liked the evening dress better than her actual wedding dress. I hate that wide open neckline on her broad bony shoulders.

Guess what, I approve of her hair style on the Ireland trip. The off center part makes a big difference. A hair stylist is still needed. Her head looks weird with her scalp showing so white on her head. It is like her hair is plastered on her head.

Oh, I know but when she isn't nursing the poor dear has no cleavage to speak of anyway. Its just my opinion but I think she works very hard to stay super thin and its not her best look. I think she looks better with a bit of flesh on her body. There's a huge difference between staying 'fit' and being far too thin. She looked great when they were engaged, much healthier looking yet she was, by all accounts quite athletic. Now, she goes for 'skinny'.

I think Inthedetails has hit the nail right on the head. Poor Kate is confusing the two words and trying too hard.
Many of the Royal women can meet the criteria and still look smashing, not dowdy.

I'm thinking that Kate (and team) might intend to her to be looking more "regal" and matronly. She might be okay with a more motherly image than a youthful one.

Queen Elizabeth is an attractive woman, but she never really played that up - she went for a down-to-earth, stable, caring, competent look. Her look has served her well - and it has served the country well. I think Elizabeth's look is "dutiful."

In awhile, the Queen will no longer be Queen. Camilla certainly doesn't have either a motherly or beautiful look (even if she has gained some popularity). So...the next woman in line for that role is Kate. I think she's taking on the stable, maternal, caring, competent look that fits her increasing role as figurehead.

We live in crazy times. Polarizing politics doesn't feel stable. I think the royals can provide some sort of stable ground for everyone to feel that the world isn't pulling apart. Maybe I'm stretching the fashion statements too far, but I think the regal look might be exactly what she's going for.

I'd like to think so, anyway. Kate is beautiful, but I'd like her real beauty to shine as an asset to her country - more so than simply as a fashion plate.

As for Meghan - I'd like to see a bit more zing from her! She's a newlywed married to a fun guy - let's see a bit more joy in her clothes.

More zing and something with a little trend. I just saw a picture of Megs personal secretary and she had a cute dress on (no panty hose). The dress would probably be a little too short for Meg (above the knee) but it was red and pretty. Meg is young enough that she can wear a little trend and not boring working in a lawyer's office clothes.

I now will officially apply to be Meg's dress selector and find her a hair stylist.

I’m not a fan the boatneck dresses or of the severe hairstyle either. I would LOVE to see her embrace her curls!

I get the sense that Meghan is choosing rather drab colors so as not to be accused of trying to steal the spotlight from the Queen or Kate. Zingy red might be in that category, but she definitely needs colors with more contrast to her skin tone. The green she wore to Ireland isn’t bright enough IMO. And it’s SUMMER not autumn! :)

Some of the fabrics she wears (including her wedding dress) are so stiff looking. I think she can carry off more softness and fullness, both in fabric and in lines. JMO

HILARIOUS! Princess Di would have loved this little Royal!

Princess Charlotte Tells Paparazzi "You're Not Coming" at Prince Louis' Christening
An adorable dose of sass from the royal three-year-old.

As if Princess Charlotte's attendance at her baby brother's christening yesterday couldn't get any better, a video from the event shows the three-year-old telling off paparazzi as she left the venue.

While departing the chapel for a reception at Clarence House with her family, she appeared to tell photographers and reporters: "You're not coming."

Princess Charlotte is so darn cute.

I think fabric that is not so stiff would soften Meg's look as someone mentioned above. Some of her dresses look like they could stand up by themselves.

I wonder how this new life style really is for Meg? From the outside looking in, it appears to be fancy clothes, private travel (not crammed into small airplane seats with a bunch of people around you), chef to cook your meals, house cleaners and all you have to do is smile and wave at people for a certain amount of time. It looks so easy but more than likely it is extremely stressful.

The Garden party dress is beautiful but why black???? Why not a pretty floral or a soft blue (I am pushing blue) or aqua. So many pretty summer colors. Leave the office colors in the closet for a garden party.

I think they look like a lovely couple here.

They do look very nice. That length and style of dress looks great on Meghan.

I do think Joan Rivers is in the house! Love this thread. :D

Just my opinion but I don't think anyone in their 30s should become matronly for a role that could be a good 2o+ years away. I also think this uber skinny idea comes from her mother, not the palace. Carole and her daughters use some French diet (the name eludes me at the moment) where you do eat but you don't eat much. Her mother seems to be very 'involved' in the lives of her adult children and likely encourages the super slim idea. Up until quite recently, Carole was often seen in skinny jeans and was very trim. Get the impression she is a 'force to be reckoned with'.....LOL Some have said she thinks SHE is the Queen and I don't doubt it. :p

It has to be somewhat tiring for her since it’s her first run at many of these special events. The adrenaline and being on has its natural law of gravity for most everyone.

But...I am sensing that Meghan is still a bit star struck with it all. Just nuances that I’ve noticed throughout, and not to be confused with her endearing love-struck look for Harry.

Is Carole, Kate's mother?? I guess if I was subject to people taking pictures every time I stepped out of the house, I would be thin too. No one wants to be called fat.

the goo goo looks from M to H are getting old. M is pushing 40 not 25.

Yes to the dress, but not black. Whyyyyyyy Meghan??? (I want the tantrum emoji please!). No one else is wearing black. She’s playing it too safe IMO. Be a little brave. There’s a balance to be found.

Off topic but I just saw a picture of Melania Trump of her feet in her shoes on DM and it was painful to look at it. Her poor feet. Ouch is all I could think. Her new hairstyle and new make-up look great on Melania.

Sorry to go off topic. Meghan also wears stilettos and they must be painful on her feet.
I absolutely love the Garden Party dress (not the color of it though).

Kensie, if you can google the picture of Carole Middleton at the time of the engagement, where she's with Michael in the driveway of their farm, you will see how slender she is for a very middle aged woman. She's in jeans and a nice jacket.
sorry, don't know how to link. Luddite here.
