I think this video is from late last night as it mentions Elizabeth's hearing this morning.
Private Investigator Believes Baby Gabriel Is Alive
CBS 5 News interviews the private investigator in the case of missing baby Gabriel Johnson.
Video: http://www.kpho.com/video/22782404/index.html
Transcribed, but not word for word. I need coffee to do word for word:
In the past 3 weeks, Jay has gotten over 186,000 tips, leading some to extortion attempts, people trying to make money off Gabe's disappearance. Others turned out to be just false leads.
Jay has several positive leads.
Jay told reporter that "all of the information that Logan McQueary is pulling up in San Antonio has not helped him in his investigation". That's word for word.
Wth?? Logan has been working so hard in SA. Looks like Jay has an ego problem. And is totally insensitive. What a thing to say.
Sounds like Jay is trying to convince everybody that he's the only person who can help. Hope he puts his ego aside soon.
Or it's disinformation because they don't want the people who have Gabriel to know what they know.
Amazingly, within hours, the number of tips has dropped dramatically. From 186,000 in the past 22 days, to 70 * 22 = 1,540 tips in the past 22 days.

Armes said his office is receiving 60 to 70 leads a day about the case, some are credible and some are extortion attempts.

I just got finishing listening to the interview with JJ for about the 5th time....I have to agree with him...I think she is protecting the one who has Gabriel...because she does know who it is....it was not a stranger in the park, or hotel, or laundry mat....listen to what he says, in short, adoption...too heated...hot potatoes...indictments....don't want to alarm the people who has him...protecting the one who has him....what alarms me is he say's he only 50% sure who has him/or can find him...feel free to correct me on that for sure....
Armes said he has recovered 150 children from underground adoption cases of the 300 such cases hes been involved in.

The attorney for Gabriel's father, Logan McQueary, sent a statement Tuesday night, distancing Gabriel's family from private investigator Jay J. Armes.

Now, McQueary's attorney Tim Maloney has released a statement that said, "Please be advised that Mr. Jay J. Armes is not authorized to speak on behalf of Mr. Logan McQueary. Mr. Armes has refused to return my client's property and continues to interfere with an ongoing police investigation." Maloney went on to write that the McQuearys appreciate the work Armes has done, but request he turn over any other information or evidence to the San Antonio Police Department.

I support Logan 100%, and am very glad he has retained an attorney, and is taking these actions, to ensure and protect the best interests of his son Gabriel.

Oh no, I hope they can work this out. I back up Logan too, but I think J Armes will find Gabriel.
IMO when someone interferes with LE's investigation missing person, they are more likely to keep the person from being found, than to find them.
I honestly don't know what to think. I'm very confused by this turn of events. And since I only know what is publicly available to know, I don't think I'm going to make sense of anything anytime soon. I'm not sure any of us will be able to based on the reported information.
BBM. When I take the reported information, that is, the previous statements from Gabe's family such as that they never retained Jay, that he's acting on his own, that Logan met with him only once, etc, and I combine that with the previous news stories about Jay's actions and the interviews with Jay's statements, and I combine all that with this press release, it makes sense to me.
OT - but what is BBM. I realize I'm probably woefully ignorant but I see it time and time again on here and the only thing I know of is "blackberry messenger". And ETA too - what is that (again forgive the ignorance)?
Back on topic, I think I need a refresher in all things JJ. I knew the family distanced themselves from him but I thought it was b/c they welcomed other PIs and didn't want anyone to think they had an exclusive agreement with him. I'll have to read back and maybe I can see what you see, BeanE!
