I made this thread for stories of progress in any katrina ravaged areas that you come across or know about I will start with this one...

It's a big day for the students and staff of two Biloxi elementary schools. Gorenflo and Nichols reopen their doors Monday for the first time since Katrina. These schools had major storm damage. So, the students and staff shared space at two other elementary schools while the repairs were being made.

Teachers at Gorenflo Elementary were treated to a "Welcome Back Breakfast" Monday morning shortly before students began arriving for classes. It was the first time they were able to return to the school in fifteen months.

this is also a good website

Not sure how much "progress" this is, but they found another Katrina victim's body last night.....I'll try to find a link.

Hey, if a family has an answer now and the victim can have a proper burial then it's progress!

Well, the body is unidentified. Many bodies are unidentified and the coroner is doing his best, but some will probably never know what happened to their loved ones.

I'm still looking for a link. Apparently this type of news has become so "unextraordinary" around here that newspapers don't even mention it. I learned of this while listening to a radio program yesterday, and heard a small blurb on my local evening TV news.
