Q&A for LI Locals and those that grew up here

I would not think LISK would use this site, mostly because to enter it would add a bunch of U-turns, depending on where they were coming from, on the trip to the drop off site. That yard is west of the stretch of parkway the GB4 were found, and on the west bound side of the road.

Same for every other "abandoned" site discussed here. It's maybe all about the uncle of the neighbor of the cousin of someone may or may not have worked there in 17th century and there fore and because this site is near, the second cousin twice removed have to be the killer ... which ends up CPH is the son of the twice removed cousin and therefore he has to be the killer. I admit, the constructions on that subject are in the meantime too complex to follow.
Think construction: Carpenter, landscaper, that means they have always some overhang tools and materials. So a lot of them have little workshops where they store the stuff. Especially, if they also do drywall on occasion. SA nive little place, nobody else has access too, in an area, after 6pm nobody is there to notice anything.

My god peter you nay more often than my dead horse :deadhorse:

Yeah, that picture was just too awesome to pass. I mean, there is this guy strangling a woman and suddenly some bicycle riders race through the room and everybody nods friendly "Good Morning" or something. I just couldn't resist.
But seriously, would a guy who likes to be in control that much as LISK does, chose a kill site where the chance is given, he would lose control because someone (panhandler, maintenance worker) could walk in at every minute? I think, rather not. Especially, since he has a better fitting place anyway if I am right about his profession.

PB, I've been reading your funny replies off and on today and I have laughed several times. So when I read this post you were replying to, I was thinking the same thing. You did not disappoint. Thanks :)

I would still like to know the history of that site, what it is used for now, and has it always been used for maintenance workers and what kind of maintenance workers. Since the sign says Do Not Enter I would like to know what sort of clearance one would need to be there legally. In spite of the ridicule perhaps some local with a similar interest could find out more about the place than the tidbits and interest we received from Goathair Jones, BKS, Seaslug44, LINative13, PickleChris, and Scandi.

As a non-native, I find it hard to picture panhandlers and homeless people hanging out in that area or anywhere in an affluant comunity such as Oak Beach.

There are multiple entrances to the area where the facilities are. I don't have many details on the facilities but from what I have seen they house the bulldozers and tractor mowers there that they use to maintain the grass along the road and push around the sand/dunes that overrun the road from time to time.

The sand roads into the sanctuary are almost always accessible and not locked. The "authorized vehicles only" sign is only at the west entrance, you can enter from the east entrance without feeling like you are violating much. You wouldn't find any "pan handlers" on the barrier island anywhere, the area is not urban or even suburban, it is remote and there are no homeless people living on the barrier island. There are millions of things never mentioned in reporting or on WS that one would know if they had familiarity with the area.

Got a TOB employee that does the mowing looking into this. He has never been in that area yet does work down there often. I don't believe its town owned. Maybe parks dept?

It's in Nassau county, part of Jones Beach state park.

Yes it's owned by State Parks. All of the victims were found on state owned property including Manorville and SG as well.

Yes, it's all state park lands. I mentioned Nassau county and Jones Beach state park to point out that a TOB(town of Babylon) worker would not have anything to do with that area. ALL of Gilgo state park, from the Suffolk county line to Captree state park is under the control of the TOB. That border is between Tobay's eastern side and West Gilgo Beach's western side, almost 2 miles from the site.

Someone who inserted themselves into the investigation and knew where SG was buried long before she was found...

Fine, and since this all started with looking for LISK's kill site (before it was buried under abandoned structures and other side tracks), here is my description about it again:

We're looking for a little storage or workshop, maybe about double the size of a garage, maybe a bit bigger. There would be a little company sign with his name (of course, real name, not "LISK") on the door, but no office, no business time.
If a car is standing outside, it is either an American made pickup in a normal color (as in no bis special paints or such, not especially unobtrusive either, just the usual standard black or reds you get without extra paying) or an older sedan type, probably also American made, no luxury model, midsize in a very normal, no-extra cost color, about 4-8 years old. Both vehicles would be well cared for, even since the truck is used in construction, it would have a few dents or scratches.
There will be only one person working there and often, the place is just closed. Windows to the front will be probably shuttered or blocked by some folio. I don't think, he would use burlap for that. If you see someone, he is male and around thirty, maybe thirty-four in the meantime. My bet would be black, but there are other theories as well, so don't rely too much on that point.

Could also be a State DOT site as well. They do maintenance & repairs on all state roads and parkways (Ocean Parkway).

Interesting theory about the killer possibly being a State Parks employee.

Can we get info on the below?

How is roadkill handled? Burlaps are used?

Thanks a lot.

Yeah, sure, maybe he drives a pickup or an SUV of some sort. But I disagree with the workshop bit. He doesn't have a cave where he hides his trophies. There at his residence. Guaranteed.
