Ramsey house for sale again

*There were nightlights throughout the house--it wasn't pitch dark.
Oh really? That's the first that I have heard of that. Where did you get this info. from? And a night light here and there...(the house is HUGE), isn't going to help any. Especially an intruder that it trying to write a three page RN, and make a garotte. How did he carry JB down that dark l staircase without falling? Heck, I would have missed the first step..LOL We have a pretty big house, with lots of night lights...but, they don't help much. It helps the kids see just enough to know where the bathroom is. But, that's about it. An intruder wouldn't be able to come in and do all of those things that IDI's believe that an intruder did...with light from some scattered around night lights. Of all of the things that I have read..from interviews, and books...I have never heard about there being night lights throughout the house. Maybe I missed it somehow.

*There was carpeting throughout---which would have absorbed noise.
Including the opening and closing of cabinets? And the whole house was not carpeted. An intruder would have made more noise, than just footsteps. You don't go into a home as large as the Ramsey's, in the pitch dark, and not bump into a few things.
*The intruder left tan fiber evidence--most likely from gloves; dark blue fibers; and dog hairs.;/quote]
It was Beaver hair, not dog hair. And Patsy's friends say that she owned a pair of Beaver fur boots. But, when asked to turn the over, Patsy suddenly "misplaces" them.
There may be more that wasn't leaked. There is no evidence that the Ramsey's fibers were all over the crime scene. That was thrown out by Michael Caine, but when called on the carpet to produce the proof, he changed the subject. He was grandstanding, and he knew the video-taped interview in Lin Wood's office would be released to the public.
Oh, so since the Ramsey fibers being at the crime scene, doesn't fit with the IDI theory...all of the sudden its grandstanding? So, what you are saying is...they lied about Patsy's fibers being CONSISTANT...as the fibers found entwined in the garotte, INSIDE of the paint tote, and on the sticky side of the tape over JB's mouth? And John's Isareli shirt fibers found on JB's crotch area was grandstanding too? NOPE..I don't believe so.
I don't know if there's any factual information as far as any lights that might have been on when Officer French went into the basement.
I don't know about that either. I am sure that I have read it somewhere, but I can't remember.

..and 'the intruder' just happened to leave his flashlight on the bar upstairs, which would be needed to see to get out, esp. in a basement.
even JR's kids said the house was a maze, you could get lost just turning around, and would be difficult to navigate, esp. in the dark.
btw,I'm southern and I find Patsy's taste in decor alarming and extreme.

And I am southern too...and I agree with you. Very alarming and extreme. Tacky...is a better word for it.

Nobody got in or out through that basement window.
Intact spider webs in December mean the grate wasn't moved.
FW ADMITTED he was the one who put the suitcase there while looking at the glass shards. BTW, the break in that window was small. It's not like anyone could fit through the broken pane.
The chair was pulled in front of a closed door. THAT was a nice trick. Close the door, THEN reach through the closed door to pull the chair next to it? Well, as PR said...the "intruder" was clever enough to do it. Clever and not possessing a physical body.

If you ask me...they need to re-look into that little lie. Some IDI's say "well, he could have went out one of the doors", yeah well...all of them were locked. So, I guess that he locked it back, before closing it behind him when he left. How THOUGHTFUL of him. You know, you just can never been too careful. That's what the intruder was probably thinking...as he locked the door back, for the Ramsey's...after murdering and sexually assaulting their daughter. Man, he was sweet. I hope that if I ever have an intruder, that he is as nice as the Ramsey's. He put the cap back on the pen, and placed it back in the pen holder...how sweet. And he wiped JB down, redressed her and "lovingly wrapped her papoose style", after murdering her....how sweet. He wiped down the flashlight, including the batteries....now THAT is just really sweet. Yeah, he sounds like a real nice guy.

Respectfully bolded by me...........NO :eek::eek::eek:

I have yet to read that one yet..........OK DeeDee I am going to have to stop reading your post's at work cause that is the second time I have had to pick my Jaw up off my keyboard. You totally just blew my mind............that was a huge part of my theory on IDI even though I am still in the pasture sitting.

DeeDee is right...Fleet moved that suitcase, looking for glass. He SAID he moved it. What's funny is...John never opened his mouth about it, he was just fine to let the investigators believe that the "intruder" place it there, and used it to hoist himself out the window. JR and his attorney are still sticking with that theory too....EVEN AFTER Fleet said that HE is the one that moved it.

I think the house is very tastefully decorated a far cry from the opulence that was Pasty's style. I am still trying to figure out what you would call her decorating style:waitasec:.

It always reminded me of French Country on steroids. It was one busy house ... between the walls and the furniture, I'd be on overload if I had to look at it every day. I think the new look is much nicer. I still wouldn't want to own the house ... or stay there.

yep, nobody could have gotten out that small window anyway(I don't recall Schmuck,I mean Smit, even trying that one),much less on something so unsturdy. To even try would mean the suitcase would have fallen over or been kicked across the room. Not still standing straight up right there.

I believe JB's room has a beige carpet and white fan. There are several white closet doors in one photo, and you can see the balcony windows in another. It is virtually unrecognizable from the fussy pink and green McKenzie-Child's version that it was when JB lived there.

That's what I thought when I looked at the pictures. It does certainly look different than what it was when it was JonBenet's room.

We went by the house one time and I took a bunch of photos. I'll have to look around and see if I can find them.

if I were to take a good psych. guess at it,I'd say it probably represented all the internal chaos Patsy had within herself.

Here is a link to a virtual tour of Jon Benet's house. I live in the Denver Metro area. http://realvideotour.com/VT0749/
There is a picture of a wine cellar with a very ornate design on one wall. My friend and I think it may be the area where she was found - and they blocked it off.
Hope this link works ! Let me know.

Thanks for posting this link.

The owners are asking a little over 2 million. Does anyone remember what the Ramsey's sold the house for? I seem to remember a group of their friends bought it, but I don't remember for sure. I wonder how long the house has been empty? It looks staged to me.

Yes, you are right...a group of their friends bought it, and then it was rented out a couple of times. Here is a Ramsey Home timeline, posted by CHEROKEE over at FFJ.

Ramsey house timeline:

November 1991 — John and Patsy Ramsey buy the house at 755 15th St. for $500,000.

Dec. 26, 1996 — JonBenet Ramsey is found dead in the basement of the home. Her family never spends another night there.

February 1998 — A group of investors buys the home for $650,000, pledging to resell it and donate profits to the JonBenet
Ramsey Children’s Foundation.

1999-2001 — E.J. “Doc” Kreis, the University of Colorado’s speed, strength and conditioning coach, rents the house before
being fired and moving to California.

June 2001 — The address is changed to 749 15th St.

[March 2004 - College students are renting the house and have been for some time.]

May 2004 — Tim and Carol Milner buy the house for $1.05 million.

[A year and a half later, a For Sale sign appears in front of the house, but the buyer pulls out when John Mark Karr surfaces.]

July 2008 — The house is listed for sale by the Milners at $2.68 million

[May 2009 - The house is listed for sale by the Milners at $2.9 million.]

Ames,

Thanks for this information. So the Ramsey's took a huge loss? Did they do the addition, or was it already there when they purchased the house? The house was a murder scene, so I doubt seriously if the new owners are going to be able to sell the house for that price, considering what they paid for it and what the R's sold it for. At least I wouldn't think they'd be able to sell it for that much, but you never know.

They didn't do the addition, but remodelled the interior---I believe they spent around $500,000. It's too bad with all the money spent that the security wasn't upgraded at that time, to address easy points of access like the basement windows. Wouldn't have cost much to change them out to glass block.

There was nothing wrong with their security system, they had an alarm system, but they claim that they hadn't used it since JB accidently set it off one day, when she was little. So..they had it disconnected. Boulder had no crime...so I find this believable.

They did take a bath on the resale. Not surprising. I couldn't remember exactly how much they put into the house.

Our alarm system is glass break and it's quite easy to operate. If they had "motion" it would have been easy to change. I know because one of my kids just made the change at their house. Besides, anyone that can put $118,000 in their IRA (or whatever John did with that money) can afford to make the changes to their alarm system.

We set ours off every now and then, but I'd never disconnect because of this. If I had kids that had bedrooms on another floor (especially a floor below the master bedroom) and a house as sprawling as theirs was, I'd have that alarm armed during the day while I was inside with the kids (at least when they were little). I know it's not practical to do when kids are going in and out the doors, but I'd turn ours on when I was home with our kids when they were little. I now keep it on all the time when I am home alone and we live in an area that has very little crime, but crime can happen anywhere.

me too.I set mine every time I leave;it's not that I'm worried about anything anyone could steal,it's that when I open the door and hear that beeping sound,I KNOW it's safe to enter.I've then got 45 secs. to get to it and enter the code,(which was difficult and left me tripping over things when the kids were little),but any inconvenience is always worth it.

The security system was old, and the main problem was when it went off it was loud. Boulder bragged about no murders, but there was plenty of crime--particularly burglaries due to the rise in drug use. A security expert should have been brought in when the house was remodelled. Even with the security system, the basement windows weren't armed, and at least one window had an unsecured grate. It's crazy to spend that kind of money and ignore the security.
