Smoke and mirrors. Don't look over here at our confused, client, beloved by millions, who believes these accusations are the result of drunken miscommunications. Instead, look over there at those nasty harpies who found their degrees in boxes of crackerjacks and have been reduced to representing lying, drug addicted scarlet women. Or, if your prefer, simply look at the mud we slung on the wall behind you. Some of it is sticking.

The BC team could have had the deposition sealed if they so desired, but THEY MISSED THE DEADLINE to have the document placed under a protective order. And they're doing what they always do--blame the victim, launch smear campaigns, shame and blame everyone but themselves. If I'm off the mark, I would ask Donjeta or any other ws legal eagle to make corrections. It seems to me that the legal team had two years from the time the case was settled to present to the court specific arguments that would support a permanent seal to be placed on the deposition. Time passed, about ten years, and no arguments that met the standard were presented. Therefore, under the laws of that state, there was no seal, and the deposition became public information. Page 6 also reported that the deposition was not filed with the court.

Much thanks for those links, wendiesan. Good work! I'm more clear on things now. Seems Cosby's legal team is all about DISinformation (as opposed to misinformation). Monique Pressley is their latest spin waxer! She really gets my goat with her plastered smile and cheek implants.

From IMDb, here's a detailed list of what Cosby has lost so far:

On November 17, 2014, Netflix postponed a Cosby stand-up comedy special after accusations surfaced that Cosby had sexually assaulted Janice Dickinson in 1982.

Two days later, on November 19, 2014, TV Land and NBC both ended their relationships with Cosby: TV Land announced that it was pulling reruns of The Cosby Show from its schedule and also removed clips of the show from its website,[76] while NBC scrapped its plans to develop a brand new sitcom starring Cosby.

Also in November 2014, colleges and universities with ties to Cosby began removing their affiliations with him. The University of Massachusetts Amherst, one of Cosby's alma maters, asked Cosby to step down as an honorary co-chairman of the university's fundraising campaign. The Berklee College of Music, which had previously awarded Cosby with an honorary degree, got rid of a scholarship that it offered in Cosby's name. High Point University in North Carolina also pulled Cosby from its advisory board, and Freed-Hardeman University rescinded its invitation for Cosby to appear at an annual dinner in December.

On December 4, 2014, the United States Navy took the rare step of revoking Cosby's honorary title of Chief Petty Officer, which he had received in 2011. The Navy released a statement saying the "allegations against Mr. Cosby are very serious and are in conflict with the Navy's core values of honor, courage and commitment."

In December 2014 amid pressure to cut long-term ties with Temple University, Cosby resigned from the board of trustees.

On December 14, 2014, Spelman College indefinitely suspended its "Camille Olivia Hanks Cosby Endowed Professorship," named after Bill Cosby's wife.[82] The college said it would restore the endowed professorship when its "original goals can again be met," but after Cosby's 2005 deposition became public in July 2015, Spelman discontinued the professorship entirely.

By the end of 2014, talent agency CAA dropped Cosby as a client, leaving him without a Hollywood agent.

In July 2015, after unsealed depositions revealed Cosby admitting to giving drugs to women for sex, broadcast network Bounce TV pulled reruns of the short-lived 1990s sitcom Cosby (which it had only begun airing in January, right in the middle of the Cosby controversy), and cable channel Centric stopped airing reruns of The Cosby Show. These were the last two networks still airing TV shows starring Cosby.

Also in July 2015, Central State University officials placed tape over the sign outside its Camille O. and William H. Cosby Mass Communications Center so that Cosby's name is no longer visible. A decision on whether or not to officially change the name of the building will be made in September.

On July 7, 2015, Walt Disney World removed a statue of Bill Cosby that had been featured as part of the Hollywood Studios park's "Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Hall of Fame Plaza."

On July 8, 2015 Ben's Chili Bowl a popular national chain of restaurants, of which the restaurant's founders have been inducted into the D.C. Hall of Fame. covered up a giant mural of Bill Cosby.

In mid July 2015 After enormous public pressure to remove art work owned by Cosby, the Smithsonian's National Museum of African Art decided to post a disclaimer reminding visitors that an exhibition featuring Bill Cosby's art collection is about the artists, not a tribute to the embattled comedian.

On July 20, 2015, it was announced that Cosby would no longer appear in the upcoming documentary Painted Down, about the history of African American stuntmen in film and TV. Cosby is credited with helping to create the Black Stuntmen's Association in 1967. Producer Nonie Robinson claimed, "We were the last project standing behind him" but said that pulling him from the documentary was "the right thing to do in light of the recent court deposition being made public." At the same time, The Black Stuntmen's Association removed a tribute to Cosby on its website.

On July 23, 2015, Simon & Schuster confirmed to the Associated Press that it would not be releasing a paperback version of the Cosby-approved 2014 biography Cosby: His Life and Times, which gained criticism for not addressing the then-few public sexual assault allegations against Cosby. The publisher also pulled celebrity endorsements for the book after David Letterman and Jerry Seinfeld reportedly asked to distance themselves from the biography.

On July 23, 2015, according to the Philadelphia City Paper, a "Father’s Day" mural depicting Cosby, Nelson Mandela, and Desmond Tutu, was scheduled for removal. It was painted over after being defaced with graffiti reading “rapist” and “dude with ludes,” referencing the recently unsealed 2005 deposition in which the comedian admitted to obtaining Quaaludes to give to women with the intention of having sex with them. The Mural Arts Program was already intending to remove the mural, but rapidly accelerated the removal due to pressure.

On August 3, 2015, the University of San Francisco told the San Francisco Chronicle that it was "seriously looking into the steps that need to be taken next" as the result of mounting pressure to revoke an honorary degree it awarded Cosby in 2012, and said it would be discussed during a meeting with trustees later this month. In the meantime, the university removed all references on its website related to Cosby's degree.

Who will be Bill Cosby’s 50th accuser? 3 more joining Allred camp

Two of them are actors who appeared in movies, on TV and onstage, according to their lawyer, Gloria Allred. The third was a flight attendant.

DeKALB – Although comedian Bill Cosby opened Northern Illinois University’s Convocation Center 13 years ago this month, his photographs are no longer welcome to hang on the building’s walls.

At the press conference their attorney, Gloria Allred, is expected to talk about why the women are coming forward now.
Allred is expected to respond to recent public statements by one of Cosby's attorneys, who attacked accusers by stating in an interview, "I don't think that 10, 20, 30, 40 years later, people get to decide to come forward."

The women who added their names to Cosby's list of accusers today are Colleen Hughes, a former American Airlines flight attendant, Eden Tirl, an actress who appeared on The Cosby Show, and actress Linda Ridgeway, another actress who appeared in multiple films and shows, including the original version of The Mechanic.

One of the victims, Coleen Hughes recalled she met Cosby while she worked as a stewardess on a flight heading to L.A. in the 70s.

According to Hughes, the comedian offered to take her to a nice lunch in Beverly Hills at the Miramar Hotel, now known as the Fairmont Hotel, when they landed.

Patrick O'Connor is chair of the Temple University Board of Trustees.
http://www.temple.edu/secretary/trustees.htm

He is listed as Vice-Chairman of Cozen O'Connor.
Cozen O'Connor was founded in 1970, its revenue in 2006 was listed as $224.5M and is a highly ranked law firm. Among its clients are detainees at Guantanamo Bay.
And Bill Cosby.

In an article for Fortune, Erik Sherman points out the very tricky position in which PO has placed himself when BC resigned his position as a TU Trustee.

At the time, the university released a simple statement: “The Board of Trustees accepts Dr. Cosby’s resignation from the board and thanks him for his service to the university.”

Now, that statement — and the university’s previously close ties with Cosby — have come under fire, as new questions are being raised about the role of one of Cosby’s lawyers, Patrick O’Connor, who also is chairman of Temple’s Board of Trustees. O’Connor defended Cosby, then a Temple trustee, against a lawsuit filed by a former Temple employee, even while he was serving as a trustee.
http://fortune.com/2015/07/22/bill-cosby-lawyer-patrick-oconnor-temple/

According to Sherman, faculty of TU are very concerned about PO's dual roles in this case but the TU administration is not. . Sherman points out that faculty feel it's hard to distinguish when PO speaks as BC's advocate, when he acts as a trustee and when he speaks as a private citizen. And then there is the hot button issue of rape on campus and a former TU trustee representing a former TU trustee who has been accused of being a serial rapist.

Temple University also released a statement late Tuesday, saying that “Mr. Connor’s representation of Mr. Cosby was disclosed and vetted in accordance with Board policy.” The statement quoted Temple president Neil Theobald as saying that “the highest standards of ethical behavior and the best interest of Temple have always guided the Chairman’s leadership and relationship to the University.”

Comedian DC Benny’s career as a stand-up working the clubs did not prepare him for the wrath of Cos.

“I have a message for Ms. Pressley: Instead of trying to change the subject from the specific allegations against Mr. Cosby to vague generalizations and truisms about the criminal justice system, I challenge you to debate me since I now represent more than 21 of them,” Ms. Allred said, referring to the number of women she represents who have brought allegations against Mr. Cosby. “I challenge you to find the courage to stand on the same stage with me and debate these issues.”

“Fifty women come forward and (the media) calls them liars, and says ‘Oh, you waited 40 years.’ Men waited 50 years to say that a priest touched them and got $7 million. How can we believe them and not the women? It seems terribly sexist to me,” said Leno.

Tirl said she later told two “Cosby Show” staffers what happened, but was ignored.

“I didn’t wait to come forward,” Tirl said. “I said something while I was working on the show, and I wasn’t helped.”

She said Cosby’s fame and iconic status made her reluctant to go public.

“At the time I thought I had experienced the casting couch in the grandest way possible, meaning the titan of NBC,” Tirl, now a teacher, said.

The video is pretty nice, it's Ms Tirl and Gloria Allred speaking.

Asked to comment, Ms. Pressley said, “While I do appreciate the temptation that may exist, for some, to turn this matter into a public spectacle, lawyers representing clients resolve matters in court, not debates.”
http://artsbeat.blogs.nytimes.com/2...s-3-more-women-surface-with-accusations/?_r=0

Soooo.... why was she on TV interviews making a public spectacle ?!?!?!

BBM. Precisely! And Allred brought up the following criticism about Monique Pressley: "You have been filibustering reporters' questions, have been avoiding and evading and giving Bill Cosby like evasive answers." I couldn't agree more. Filibustering is a good word for Pressley's fast talking, spin buffer technique.

Go Gloria! I would not want to be on the wrong side of Gloria Allred. Watch out Pressley! Gloria is so onto you and not afraid to call you out on your victim-blaming, rapist-loving filibuster!! I love how Gloria Allred keeps on taking control of the conversation. IMHO

http://www.mediaite.com/tv/cnns-ashley-banfield-grills-cosby-attorney-are-his-accusers-lying/

So Pressley was defending Cosby in court today....

Sorry, I misspoke, she was on CNN...

Banfield challenged Pressley on the deposition’s record that Cosby used an objection in order to avoid denying the allegations and answering further questions. “If truth is your best friend, why not say no,” she asked.

Banfield also went on to ask why Cosby was not countersuing any of his accusers for slander if he wishes to deny the charges. Pressley said that the defense team was keeping all options on the table, but despite presses from the host, she refused to say what approach they would be taking in the future.

http://www.theguardian.com/world/2015/aug/13/bill-cosby-three-more-than-women-sexual-assault
Ridgeway Whitedeer said she could not breathe and was in shock. “When Cosby was done there was a horrible mess of semen all over my face, my clothes and in my hair. He took a Kleenex to try and wipe off my face. I was bordering between vomiting and passing out. He was mumbling that I had been blessed with his semen as if it was holy water,” she said.

I wonder if it has healing properties.

http://www.thewrap.com/bill-cosbys-...-taking-nuclear-option-in-deposition-scuffle/

“Instead of simply opposing defendant’s motion in the usual course by explaining why they disagree with it, plaintiffs had chosen the ‘nuclear option': filing a motion for sanctions and accusing defendant’s counsel of bad faith,” Friday’s filing in federal court in Pennsylvania reads.
...
Citing “legitimate concerns about the true role that” the pair might have played in the release of the deposition, Cosby’s lawyers noted that the deposition was released to the Times by the company that Troiani hired to transcribe it.
...
“Nowhere in his [discovery] motion does defendant accuse Ms. Troiani of any misconduct,” the filing reads. “Rather than leap to conclusions, defendant simply wishes to learn what happened.”
The filing goes on to criticize the call for sanctions as “an astounding overreaction.”

"Smithsonian makes right call on keeping Cosby exhibit"

Johnnetta B. Cole, director of the museum, said in an explanation posted this month on the Root that she was unaware of the allegations. “Had I known,” she wrote, “I would not have moved forward with this particular exhibition.” No question there are unfortunate, even embarrassing, aspects of the exhibit — the quote from Mr. Cosby emblazoned on the wall about quilts telling a story “of life, of memory, of family relationships” comes to mind — but Ms. Cole is correct that the exhibit comes down to the artists, their work and the ability of the public to appreciate both.

I still can't wrap my mind around the fact that all those agencies, talent scouts, what have you, who procured young women for Cosby to "mentor" apparently never once thought to ask him, "Hey guy, don't you want to mentor young MEN, too?"

As Ms. Thomas refers to them in her interview, they were Cosby's "henchmen," (and women) and he apparently had a lot of them.

/JMO/ at least some of them were well aware that they were pimping for Cosby but he paid well enough for them not to mind /JMO/

They can't all have missed the fact that the girls and women didn't tend to emerge out of the experience all starry eyed and grateful to have been, um, mentored.
