RDI Theories & Discussion ONLY!

I could see this happening, but why wouldn't Patsy confess? Yes, she caused the death of JB, but it was accidental and in the heat of the moment.
If she was scared or had been convinced to lie about it all, I also couldn't imagine staying with perv John all those years later. She would have been able to get a decent settlement, so fearing poverty would not have been a factor.

Patsy played softball in a womens' league- she may have had a very strong arm. Why not admit it? There are a few reasons why not, First, I believe BR may also have been molesting his sister and Patsy would not want any light shed on that. In an exam, evidence of molestation would have been seen. And also, JB may have gone into convulsions, coma and appeared to have been killed instantly (though she remained alive for a while).

Grrrrrr.
:banghead:

Some people.

edited to add, no one in here. Just venting.

DeeDee: BBM. Something I've wondered about: In the months or so before JB's murder, do you think Dr Beuf had examined JB and suspected she was being molested? Certainly he was aware of all her genital irritations and infections.

I don't know. That's a serious breach of ethics, of law, to keep quiet.
I know he hasn't shown himself a stellar citizen but saying you'll hide/destroy records is different from doing it. This would be active breaches.

Edited to add: I'm sorry Chelly, DeeDee...I didn't notice it was a personal post. Disregard!

Oh, That's OK..no worries.
Then, I wonder if Dr B examined JB and became aware that her hymen was eroded . You can answer 2 percent...LOL

Chelly, Dr. Beuf stated he had never given JonBenet an internal exam.

Who knows? I'd be finding another pediatrician if my child had the problems JonBenet had in that area for an entire year ... to the point she had to wear diapers ... at six years old ... and pooped on herself ... unless I (figuratively) already had a physician who would keep my "secrets" because hiding those secrets was more important than helping my daughter.

This case makes me ill.

I think that if he did have any suspicion, he blocked it out. He seems a little too pro-Ramsey for me to think he wouldn't have any biases.
Would he have done that thorough of an exam to find it was eroded? Isn't that something you'd only see with an internal exam?

Agreed. I know he stated that. It seems to me that a child with chronic vaginitis would have been given an internal. I question the honesty of JB's doctor. Did PR call him to the home after JB was found missing or after she was found dead?

As an aside while we're discussing this. Are you all aware that Dr. Beuf was also one of the folks Patsy called to come over the morning of December 26th. I read somewhere (and like otg said, I'm not inclined to go look up the source right now) that he prescribed sedatives for Patsy while there.

If I remember correctly he claimed he didn't do an internal exam.

Maybe...but I'm skeptical. My cousin was a Professor of Pediatrics and he said they are taught to do internal gyno exams when required, so it's not like he can claim he wasn't trained.

So, is he lying about not doing the exam? Or did he fail to protect his patient by not doing a full diagnostic? Neither choice is attractive.

Thanks Chelly!

Iirc, she called him before JonBenet was found.

Really what was the point in calling the kids pediatrician? While I'm at it, calling all those people? Ok, I can see maybe, hesitantly maybe, a close friend or mother....but your whole posse? Yes, I just broke out the word posse  :floorlaugh:

Suspected vaginitis or yeast infection must be initially confirmed with an internal exam. No other way. Women with chronic problems can opt for OTC solutions after the initial diagnosis. But those OTC inserts and ointments are not for 5-6 year old children, so she would have to have a prescription.

The posse did the trick. contaminated the crime scene, created chaos at the crime scene.

Here's a bit of a reference:

1999 February 18
Lawrence Schillers book,
"Perfect Murder, Perfect Town

Page 21:

"The victim advocates, who had gone with them to the Fernies', left at 5:00 P.M. Shortly afterward, Detective Arndt left too. One patrol officer was left behind for security.

Michael Bynum, John ramsey's close friend and corporate attorney, who had been away snowshoeing, now arrived at the Fernies' house. As he walked in, the family was kneeling in the living room praying with Rev. Hoverstock. Around 7:00 P.M. John Ramsey went for a walk with John Fernie and Dr. Francesco Beuf, JonBenet's physician, who had brought over some medication for Patsy.
When they returned a half hour later, Ramsey asked Bynum to represent him.

"'I'm sorry, I'm so sorry,' Ramsey told his friends over and over. Then just after 8:00 P.M., he left alone to take a walk in the nearby foothills."

And here's another interesting comment (this and the above are from http://www.acandyrose.com/crimescene-morning.htm):

04-18-2000 Steve Thomas, "JonBenet, Inside the Ramsey Murder Investigation"

Page 32:

"At the Ramsey house a detective overheard John Ramsey on the telephone at 1:40 P.M., telling his pilot to ready his plane for a flight to Atlanta. Ramsey was soon told to cancel that flight, but police would consider the action suspicious. Why would a father whose child had just been murdered be readying an airplane to get out of town? It made no sense."
