Remembering Hailey

Even if she does turn up dead, it would still be hard to charge anyone since they have no clear evidence that it happened before or after she left the house.

There is evidence that she left the house, for example witnesses who claimed to have seen her after SA last saw her, plus the earring.

I think if LE had a body, charges would be filed soon thereafter. I believe there is a mountain of circumstantial evidence (some of it in the form of contradictions and mistruths by Billie and Shawn, of public record from media interviews) and that eye witness testimony could be discredited. There are always false sightings in missing persons cases. They were fully investigated at the time and LE will explain their reasons for ruling them out.

Sure, the defense could argue that Hailey ran away or was kidnapped and then was killed, but leaving her personal belongings at home and all of the contradictions by the suspect and POI will be hard to explain if a body turns up (hard to explain now too, but don't know if they're lying about a death or something else until there is a body). Why would their stories be so inconsistent if they weren't involved in her death? Why would Shawn have lied about his work alibi and Billie knowingly repeated the lie to Nancy Grace? Why would Billie lie to police, and thus be arrested, when police were looking for her daughter? These will be things the prosecution can focus upon if a body is discovered and charges are filed.

Also, though her body will be badly decomposed in all likelihood, if there was head trauma, stabbing or something of that nature involved, it could render physical clues. The suspect had a car and there is a huge window of opportunity for when and where this crime could have taken place. If Hailey is wrapped in something that comes from one of the suspect's residences, or if there is any DNA under her nails, or if there are any fibers lodged in body cavities, etc... it could be very incrimating. Of course, if Shawn and Billie are lying and not cooperating for some unfathomable reason other than guilt in disappearing Hailey, this kind of evidence could also point toward someone else. Lots of possibilities.

I'm not even sure that finding Hailey would result in charges at this point. I am doubtful that LE has anything other than suspicions and some lies from B&S. It would still be difficult to prove that Hailey did not leave on her own and encounter a killer, or was taken by someone from outside the home. This is one case that I fear will never be successfully prosecuted...JMO

I remember the dogs but didn't know they led to a room. Very interesting.

I think they searched a hotel room. There is a thread about the dog tracking issue. I have heard that the hotel had no wifi at the time . I do not know if it is true or not. Also the dogs would trace the newest scent ,but CCITY has confuddled the dog issue.

People traveling for the Holidays.. I am remembering something Connie said about going to take Clints g/f to the store when her out of town guest left that day.

Beanie has transcriptions on the show where that was said . I just alway thought that was interesting. I also wondered if those guest stayed in a hotel.

The PDF stated that the license was reinstated with stipulations on October 27th, 2011. There are 8 stipulations, I will recap in my own words:

HD's case and the investigation has been a tradegy and a shame. Nuff said. IMO

I have not seen ANYTHING that says they did or did not stay at Connies house the whole visit. Which I find completely interesting.

It was like them leaving the same day Hailey disapears is skirted and skimmed over even though they could have said on either blog radio appearance where they stayed and someone could have asked .
Why has this issue never been asked or addressed?

I just always felt they were hoping that this was common knowledge they left town that day and hope the issue Hailey is also missing the same day is not noticed?

Wouldnt you think they would feel it important to let people know that they did or didnt stay in any hotel? 6 were searched ..

Sad ! I did a drive by and there might have been 20 ornaments placed at the tree of vigil !! the whole display is windstrewn all over and it looks like crap ! I
And worse yet , I supose somone is living in Hailey's home across the street and it is very junked up !!
It is like everyone knows she is't coming back so let us just move on and have a Merry Xmas !!
