Where did you hear that Tom's sister and publicist (Lee Ann Devette)
sent a letter to every member of Katie's family's church?

If she did, in fact, do that, I think it's ridiculous.
Does Tom think he can manipulate everybody??

Thank you SimonSays, :)
That is horrible! They get to hear voices for the first nine months and then nothing for seven days?
They're really nuttier than a bunch of fruitcakes.

I have lost all respect for Travolta and Preston too.

Tom and Katie are likely to follow the church's "silent birth" guidelines during delivery, which means no music and no talking during the birth, which also means no screaming during the pains of labor.

The doctrine also states that newborns cannot be poked or prodded for medical tests or even spoken to for the first seven days of their lives, believing that babies go through so much pain during the birth, they shouldn't have to experience any further discomfort or sensory experience that could return later in life to haunt them.

I believe he does. however, he hasn't been able to manipulate the Oscars judges, has he?

i think it's groovy his ex won a cute little statuette not long after their break-up. my, how that must have killed him!

in the future, i can picture him going crazy the way of David Icke, what with Cruise's beliefs in aliens and all that.

I'm sure the "representative" was one of his Scientology people. Gives more credibility to the contract theory. OMG he makes me sick. Never again will I watch one of his movies.
You are most probably right. The article also said that Nicole was forced to handle all discussion through the Scientology representatives. I agree with you. I won't be watching any TC movies.

As another poster said, I used to like TC. He really seems like he has gone off the deep end.

There is a reason that he is making his relationship so public. I just don't know what it is.

I read an article the other day that said Steven Spielberg isn't wild about him anymore, either, and that he doesn't care to make movies with him again.:slap:

I really enjoyed Cruise in Risky Business and Bartender. My favorite Cruise movie however is the one he co-starred with my Paul Newman. And I can't recall the name of that movie, cause I'm over 60 now. He wasn't bad in the vampire movie either.
But if you really want to see Tom as what I think portrays him best is the movie Magnolia. He plays the leader of a movement which teaches men to be the Man of the family. He cries his heart out at his father's death bed and instead of drama, it's kind of phony.
His character is outed as a fake when he agrees to a face-to-face interview with a tv reporter. It's a scream.
Rent the movie for tonight. It's an interesting movie which covers the lives of several people over a 24 hour period. You'll love the frog scene.
If you do accept this assignment, let the rest of us know what you think about the movie. Okay?

are you thinking of the Color of Money?....i thought Magnolia was an excellent movie...so's Rainman, & Born on the 4th of July...i think Cruise is a wonderful actor, although i didn't care for Eyes Wide Shut..(think that was the name of it) or Vanilla Sky

Spiegel: Mr. Cruise, as you know, Scientology has been under federal surveillance in Germany. Scientology is not considered a religion there, but rather an exploitative cult with totalitarian tendencies.

Outrageously Cruise had a tent-full of volunteers on the movie set of War of the Worlds.

here's an interview with Spiegel, a German magazine. Spiegal argues with the idiot who claims no one has any idea how many he's helped. and they pretty much show him the respect he deserves.

the following words appear just over halfway down in the article:

SPIEGEL: We visited one of your locations near Los Angeles and were amazed to find a fully staffed tent of the Scientology organization right next to the food tents for the journalists and extras.

Cruise: What were you amazed about?

SPIEGEL: Why do you go so extremely public about your personal convictions?

Cruise: I believe in freedom of speech. I felt honored to have volunteer Scientology ministers on the set. They were helping the crew. When I'm working on a movie, I do anything I can to help the people I'm spending time with. I believe in communication.

More: http://service.spiegel.de/cache/international/0,1518,353577,00.html

genuinely, an interview you'll be interested in reading if you want to see Cruise roasted by those who believe him to be nuts, if not dangerous, even.

(and, btw: i'm happy to wait for War of the Worlds to get its telly release. no cinema trip or DVD buying for me!)

Here you go, interview, complete with video:

A funny write up about the same:

SNIP

Okay, should we address him as Dr. Tom Cruise from now on? Or will the Rev. Dr. Cruise suffice?
Whatever: Anybody who watched the actor's performance on NBC's "Today" show yesterday witnessed an unsettling transformation. The movie star, who has long embraced Scientology, launched a full-bore assault on the psychiatric profession, sticking to a script that his church (founded, mind you, by a hack science fiction writer) has been promoting for decades.

It's simply staggering how soft in the head this bloke Cruise is!

and unutterably stunning how Katie Holmes has been seemingly sucked into the madness. what the heck happened to her?

i mean, she appears to have come from a stable family background, so if this can be her, what of others who have less firm ground to stand upon?

the good thing is, as far as i can tell, the majority of people are looking upon Scientoligy as freakish and untenable. long may that be the case.

I think that they are all losing it, i cant believe how he bad mouthed brook sheilds choice of how she handled her depression, man, can you imagine all the people in this world that take antidepressants and if they stopped paying to see his movies how much money he would NOT make, ouch that would put a hurting in his bank account....

The new rumor is that they'll get married in Mexico next month (toward the end) because Tom says he's "old fashioned" and knows how to treat a woman. :loser:

Of course Melissa would say that Cruse isn't gay. She is to much of a lady to say differently. Now I would be one to believe that Melissa was a virgin at 17 yrs. DON'T SAY A WORD....allow me to hang onto my fantasy...Little House, Michael Landon..drool, and sweet innocent little Melissa.

She really is a nice person and a great actress. She must have been star struck by "the little man" as a young girl.
Yes, I think she is a neat person too.

Anyway, the thing about this whole baby that makes me sick is when people add children to a relationship that's not solid. Children don't fix broken relationships nor should they be used as a smoke screen. The kids are the ones that pay the price for that fraud.
AMEN, Jeana!!

On GMA (I think it was) this morning they said Katie has backed out of her next movie project to become a full-time mom. What a chauvinist!!! I guess he wants/like them barefoot and pregnant none of which MiMi or Nicole was wiiling to be.
