Resemblance of McDuff and BSL

A rape and attempted murder for which McDuff was never prosecuted resulted in a daughter who at the age of 21 visited McDuff in prison. Her visits ceased after McDuff described his fantasy of taking her to Las Vegas and pimping her out to earn himself a fortune.

Found this link in McDuff's SK thread & found that he did have a daughter. Although the radford.edu timeline/datasheet indicates no children.

It would be so uncanny. I cannot get over the resemblance tho!
If this happens to be a needle in a haystack, then I guess we can be born bad.
That would be very upsetting to me unless we can also raise them properly out of the bad they were born with.

what I hope is that some investigative reporter or LE see this thread and check into it.

Someone will see it. Can they check into it after all these years?
Again, his biological mother knows. Is his sister full or half sister?

I really think though that BSL read GL book and fashioned his style after McDuff. He did homework, and he studied Mcduff...that is where I'm strongly leaning. Unless something is uncovered.

Edit to add: He might have looked at other SK'ers but picked McDuff because BSL even saw the resemblance...now wouldn't that be something. Either way a good story for any reporter if they find the goods. Can you imagine how big the story would be if he was McDuff's relative?

How tall was mcduff and what color were his eyes?
Just looking at these b/w pics I can hardly tell the difference between the two!

Someone ( I think BSL's relative) said he didn't think BSL knew who his father was. Perhaps BSL also wondered about him since they look so alike and shared the evil that lurked within?

I don't know, here is a picture in color when he was older>

If you go here to watch this...it will show him in film footage and up against other's I would say he is about 6ft

Mcduff was in the six foot something range. Taller than brandon, but that doesn't mean much. He looks too oddly similar. Please, view the pictures of mcduff smiling with bsls smile...

I just want to formally apologize IF there is no connection between McDuff and BSL. But when i saw mcduff, and compared it to bsls pictures, I was shocked. When I looked into Mcduffs past, I was even more shocked. The fact that so many things add up, made me sick.

I'm just wanting to bring it to other sleuthers attention. Its been on my mind for a while, but I didn't want to bring a lot of speculation.

I'm glad some users agree

If BSL did study McDuff, I wonder if he'd mimic him in the ways he hid his victims:

At the end of the day the lawmen came to realize that they had at last detected a pattern in McDuff’s malevolence. He usually dug his graves in advance, always twenty paces from a landmark that he could find in the dark.

From another article by the same journalist in Texas Monthly. This one from 1998 called The End.

Even considering all this makes me feel very, very strange. Maybe I had best back off from this topic for a bit ...

I have to say, I was majorly intrigued when I first ran across evidence that the writer was likely related to BSL -- before we discussed that on the thread. It just had such shades of Ann Rule spending nights all alone with Ted Bundy on the suicide hotline crew ... "stranger than fiction", yes.

I've thought, like some others, that there is at least an inkling of evidence that BSL's adoptive mother knows his "birth family" background, enough to wonder if maybe it was an in-family or related-somehow-to-family adoption. And yes, I, also, even scrutinized the writer's past for possible clues....

Then a few days ago, I requested Bad Boy from the online book swap to which I belong and, anticipating receiving it, looked over some of the same online sources we've looked at here. And, almost unwillingly, I started thinking about ...well, about the topic of this thread. But I thought, nah, that would be just too weird, better not go THERE on WS! So it feels very strange to be openly discussing it.

I tend to think that BSL is NOT related to McDuff ... but I admit, this time I DO see some resemblance. (At least I'm not stuck with a pic of Sheldon from Big Bang theory in my head, as I was after looking at the sketch of the possible perp in the NOLA murder case some are sleuthing, the one that happened around the time BSL got out of prison.)

If BSL is guilty of that of which he stands accused and if it were to turn out that he is in any way related to McDuff -- I just don't know how to deal with that possibility. It would just be so completely sad and heartbreaking for all concerned, IMO.

I got Bad Boy in the mail today (meaning Saturday) and I almost dread reading it -- I already know it's not a pretty tale. Guess I will try to plunge on in, though -- have promised a few here I will report back in with a "review" of sorts.

I am in no way a superstitious person or anything even close, but that looks like the grim reaper in the background dresses in black!
What the heck is that shadow?

Yeah, that caught my eye as well! :what:

Backwoods,
I am going to read the book also.
Can't wait to share perspectives!
