While we are in this lonnnnng delay, wanna play a game?

What juror question would you like to see?

For this witness.

I'll start:

1. Do you think pedophiles are also normally attracted to grown women with breast implants who have no children to exploit?

2. Do you think Jodi Arias is mentally ill? If so, why was an insanity defense not used in the trial?

I see.......so making up complete and total fabrications of the facts is okay in our court of law ? There is absolutely NOTHING to back up Jodi's allegations when it comes to the little boy thing. Her and Nurmi just dreamed that up for shock value, and we all know it. It isn't relevant at all, and it is most likely completely untrue anyway. It's hearsay based on the word of a known liar.

It should have never been allowed.

Of course it's not OK. It's perjury. But a judge can't make the decision who's committing perjury and who's telling the truth-she is absolutely required to leave that up to the jury.

The only thing to back up the little boy picture story is Jodi's testimony. Testimony is evidence. The judge is not permitted to require testimony to be supported by other evidence before it is offered.

It is relevant. That's the problem. Jodi wove it into a totally disgusting, false, ridiculous, relevant story. I have to say, though, that I'm glad the relevance is so hard to see--hopefully the jury will have the same difficulty.

Question: If Charles Manson wanted to marry somebody, why not pick Jodi ?

(Answer: Because Charles said, "She's too damn crazy".)

Exactly. If Travis had had a Facebook page, she'd be saying, "And here we see that he clicked 'like' on a picture of a friend's little girl in a splash pool. You will notice he clicked like after 11 pm, when in my experience nobody is using Facebook. That's already an indicator of unusual sexual proclivities. But then he actually took the additional step of adding a comment, saying 'what a cutie!' This shows that Travis used terms of endearment ordinarily reserved for love interests when referring to children."

...and this method of LYING outright is what is making me crazy. The jurors don't know any of this back-stuff (like about the computer bs, and all the rest) do they? Shame, Shame, Shame, on the DT. Do other Attorneys in the profession take notice of this kind of sleazy behavior? Does it have an impact on the DT's character, or is it just viewed as being a "clever" strategy??

Question for AZL: What would have happened if Juan had sat on the info about Tony/Dell and just used it in the hearing that JSS will eventually have about it? "So your expert says this is the proof that Travis had child 🤬🤬🤬🤬?" "Yes." "Your honor, you may be as shocked as I was to see this, but...."

I suppose she would have tossed it at that point, but would let him start the nonsense all over again once "Tony" gets his act together - if he even can.

In any case, what could this mean in terms of sanctions. Dr F testified about having "other evidence" about Travis, America's most well-known non-pedophile pedophile. Could it lead to something like JSS reading a statement to the jury that they are to disregard her testimony to that effect? That would be the worst possible thing from a defense viewpoint, and no doubt something she would be loathe to do.

It should be viewed as a criminal act, as far as I'm concerned. I thought the point of a court was to establish the truth and work from the facts.

All this trial has been about is making up stories, fabricating imaginary scenarios, defending bad behavior, and covering up the FACTS. If that is the way our justice system is set up, then it is broken and it needs to be revamped. If they start sending these lawyers to jail for just blatantly lying to a jury, then maybe we can put a stop to the nonsense.

Sadly, in their own circles, I think the latter. Our prosecutor Cathy Hughes really made a splash because of our trial and was offered a huge promotion working for the Legal Defenders office which she took simply because her dream, at that time, was to become a Judge (and she'd have been a damn good one). She left it after a few years to head back to the County Attorney's office to do DP cases until she retired (along side Juan Martinez). I remember she said to me "The problem is I'm so thorough at what I do, and not all prosecutors are, that I can get these murderer's acquitted on simple mistakes by the prosecution" and she couldn't live with herself either way so she left. That's integrity right there.

I doubt there are many defense attorneys who are sincerely interested in the Truth, they are interested in winning, plain and simple and it's that focus that helps them "live with themselves". They've depersonalized the entire thing. Just my opinion.

Believe it or not she can't stop him from pursuing an unprofessional, disgusting and strategically doubtful line of questioning. I think the TV judges give people the idea that judges can do these things. :)

If this is not totally illegal for the witness to imply pedophilia when she admits to knowing otherwise, then couldnt the judge at least admonish the defense witness openly in front of the jury by saying something like..."Since it appears the witness admitted that it could be from a mass mailing then it is wrong to imply otherwise if the witness already knows this. I would strongly urge the witness to do thorough research before making potentially false allegations, since you could be sued for slander by the affected parties at a minimum and could possibly face perjury charges at a maximum".

The witness all but admitted to it being a mass email. I listed the tweets earlier if they accurately stated what she said and she used the words "mass email" in her own words.

And might this be the problem? What is the "job" of a judge?

Does anyone know what brand of laptop Jodi hid in the laundry? Somewhere someone had it deducted that "Tony" could be where Jodi got her laptop. What's the odds that the computer screw up was a giant one and they handed over her laptop that magically got broken once she got arrested.

I don't think that there is a group of journalists that would NOT leak breaking news like this. There is too much money at stake for them and unless there is some gag order there is nothing that could convince me that a journalist would be respecting anyone's privacy for the sake of being thoughtful. It's just business in the minds of journalists these days. And truthfully, it is their job to uncover the truth, regardless of what it may be. Look at Princess Di, for just 1 example.

JMHO, of course : )

If it was absolutely anything that benefitted this murderer it would have been leaked. The fact that it hasn't tells me it's something pretty bad and people are respecting it (although I believe if something terrible like Juan Martinez' mother died--not knowing if she's even alive--it would still be leaked and somehow blamed on him). I'm deducing from the way the media rolls in this case that something really difficult has happened in one of the major players' lives and the journalists are respecting that even if they know what it is.

Are you saying perjury is not a criminal offence in the U.S.?

ETA: Hatfield answered this for me further down. Thank you for the link.

Charles Manson is getting married!? Omg, I will never understand people that praise/support/fall in love with criminals. Creepy.

She could sustain objections by JM....but, she won't. KN and JW run up there and do whatever they do, and she wilts. Mainly, it's JW doing the talking in the sidebars we've seen. I see blatant bias in JSSs body language and facial expressions while dealing with the defense team....sorry, I know you strongly disagree. But, it's what I see.

I believe she will have celebrity status if in general population. I also believe she will believe she "won" should that be her punishment. Women's prisons don't seem to be all that bad when I watch shows like Lock Down, etc. Nothing in comparison to the men. She can have a full on social calendar.

womens prisons are just as bad as the mens prisons.

I know first hand..

Many moons ago...I caught a case.

I had 28 grams of cocaine on my person...

I went before the judge and plead guilty..she could have handed me a 20 year sentence..However, because I had no priars and pled guilty, I got 3 years.

I sat in county jail for 7 months before pulling chain to prison..

I did 3 years flat..

I can tell you that women prisons are just as vile, just as dangerous as mens prisons.

the fighting, the drugs, the contraband, the shake downs, the killings..the rapes

women are just as bad as men...

lock up is lock up...

I have spent the last 20 years clean...no drugs...I know what I did was wrong and I manned up so to speak and did my time..that was a long long time ago..

I couldnt begin to tell you about the stabbings I saw, the hangings I saw, the rape I saw..the drug dealings, drugs snuck in..wowmen ganging up on other women..trust me, women are no different from the men..

I pretty much kept to myself..I did have to fight on occasion, but I fought to protect myself..

dont let television fool you..

it does not matter if you male or female..prison life is prison life..

as for Jodie? she wont be Chit in prison..just a underdog...if she does goes to gp, she will have to watch her back just like anyone else...what she did to travis does not make her a star in prison..she wont impress anyone...

frankly, I would like to see her serve her time on death row,,being in lock down 23 hours a day...I know women who served on death row...they were miserable...

just sayin

I actually know some journalists personally who are judicious in what they will report out of respect. We were lucky to have one of them the primary journalist covering our trials back in the day.

Interesting information on how to get perjury charges filed. Sounds as if anyone can initiate the proceedings. The witnesses tend to be careful in how they actually word things to avoid blatantly saying something is fact but they sure do imply things. That is the part that gets "sticky". However even false implications are serious and may hold up in a court of law possibly.
