Well this will be interesting that’s for sure. If I was the owner(s) of the forensic software used in this case I would be contacting the DA office to offer help. Hell, I would file my own civil lawsuit! I would have my premier engineers and software developers at their disposal. I believe the name of software is Encase (correct me if I’m wrong). It’s the same software used by police departments all over the US. They have a lot to lose considering the software has been trial tested many times. It would be fun to watch the software development team dismantle the defense team.

Anyone here who read Nurmi's motion find it questionable that all the pornographic sites were visited between May 28 and June 3, 2008, precisely while she was planning his slaughter? IF IN FACT those sites were visited, she planted them somehow. Because I would think anyone addicted to would have files on there from the first day he bought his computer. The only way I see Nurmi getting away with this crap is if JSS doesn't step up to the plate, get a spine and tell him off. Will she or won't she? Guess we will find out tomorrow.

What self-respecting, modern-day virus coder is going to openly announce its presence to its victims? She probably got that idea from a movie (where characters being typed are often 1" high, and unnecessarily shows EVERY one of thousands, if not millions of photos as it searches for identity matches (talk about a major slowdown that would eat up a LOT of memory!), or even an actual screensaver that looks like bugs are eating the screen. I keep thinking of the self-destructing file/photo in the movie "Copycat" that taunted Sigourney Weaver's character as it mooned her and bounced away with the file. That movie came out in 1995. I call bogus on her clunky viral insects.

The FBI employs cyber-crimes specialists. I know someone personally who does this for a living.

Found on twitter and confirmed on court website - MDLR is suing Jason Weber for harassment. He's the guy that runs the Justice4Jodi website/collecting money that JA was complaining about in that phone call. The letter not confirmed by me, but could be MDLR's basis for the suit.

The hard drive was examined by DT before the retrial began.....when JACK was pro per. Examined at her insistence.

And Nurmi waited until now to mention this? Really?

And Nurmi had to get the drive from the State after Arias had examined it.

This is all going to be resolved in favor of the State, but not without more ugliness first. Hopefully the press coverage is the extent of it.

It is a shame that the DT will resort to something this low and that the State has to respond.

Here is some info I found talking about similar on an antivirus discussion area. Some seem to be trojans while some seem to be legitimate screensavers. The link below is just discussion, but I wouldnt click on any actual links within that discussion area.

But there is ZERO motive for LEO to mess with evidence. None what so ever. That defense makes less sense than anything else in this trial and that is saying a lot. Surely there were 2 HD's, yes? The original and a mirror copy? Were both recently examined? Are they identical? Was the mirror copy made before alleged tampering?

I couldn't finish reading past the site names and dates, it was too nauseating and I knew what it would say, knowing the tack Nurmi/JA is taking at this point.

If Travis had been into of any sort, it would have been a longer-term interest. I think it's telling that all the sites and dates mention go to the end of the premeditation phase of JA's nefarious plan. It is also after the time JA claims she saw child "" picture on the computer, oops... actual photograph. It's so obvious to me at first glance.

This motion will set prosecution experts into a frenzy of re-examination of their evidence. This will take time, which is exactly what Nurmi wants.

For the sake of my own sanity, I'm going to opine that it's just another trick dreamed up by JA during her pro-per phase a little while back.

While not giving exact quotes, everything Nurmi wrote about the sites were equivocal, using terms such as "possibly" which leads me to believe he has to do this for his client.

ITA...who writes a motion that basically says- well if you don't dismiss all the charges, then you must at least take the DP off the table. Why the either/or? If you have the stuff it takes to get the conviction overturned, then go for it. Show your cards!

Not to mention. Earlier folks raised the possibility Flores might have erased the files because he is a Mormon. I think his being Mormon is entirely irrelevant to whether or not he's an ethical cop.

An ethical cop wouldn't tamper with evidence for any reason, much less because of his religion. I believe Flores is ethical . If he saw those files, especially if child , I bet the only effect his religion would have would be to double his disgust as he promptly reported his findings.
