It shouldn't be an issue now either, but yay Flores for getting that common sense fact in.

Flores remembers doing a hard shutdown when defense was done. Took oot the battery and unplugged it. #JodiArias

Why would he do that?!

Willmott points out if the defense brought a sledge hammer in he would have stopped it.

Flores agrees. #JodiArias

Maybe the pace will pick up when Flores gets his expert on the stand. I wonder if JW will cross all day to slow things down even more?

  • #526
Gary Parzych already said if they'd tried to stop him he would have gotten a court order.

Flores reiterates that they had an exact image of the hard drive and that the evidence would not be destroyed. #JodiArias

What a stupid question! There's a difference between viewing evidence and destroying it! The DT is so beyond desperate.

Flores- Any change that happened could be documented from the original image that was taken #jodiarias #3tvarias

Jennifer Willmott asks Flores if a phone call can be made without a SIM card. He says many phones work without. Like Alexander's.

Willmott is asking about missing SIMS cards from phones. Flores- Travis's phone didn't require a SIMS card #jodiarias #3tvarias

I don't understand Willmott's reasoning for asking these questions about stopping the DT from looking thru the computer. The first Atty for Jodi (female-can't remember her name) already testified that they are required by the Office of Defense to take a look to see how much computer stuff will be coming in so they can get funding for a computer expert on the case. She made it sound like it is "common practice" and now Willmott is pointing out that it should never be done?

Too bad nobody stopped Arias from taking one to her hard drive!

Flores says it took two years and a software update to extract the text messages from the Alexander phone without the SIM card.

Willmott and Flores are discussing Verizon phones and the fact that they were one of the first that didn't need a sim card. #JodiArias

Even if there truly is 🤬🤬🤬🤬 on the computer what exactly does that have to do with anything. She is already convicted. I don't understand why all this is being allowed and we just don't get on with it.

Exactly. And to take it a step even further I think it was stated that JSS doesnt have power to appeal the original guilty verdict since it already happened. The DT would have to appeal the verdict with another appeals court. So I dont understand either why this issue wasnt classified by JSS as an appeal issue against the original verdict and just tell Nurmi to take his issue to the appeals courts. And just move on.

And even for that other item Nurmi wanted to wait on the rulings opinions from the privacy thing. So when Nurmi gets that he just wants to use that information so he knows how to appeal to the supreme court so why is JSS holding up this trial so Nurmi can wait on that.

None of it makes sense to me why JSS is allowing half this carp.
It seems most of Nurmis shenanigans should end up with:

Deny, Classify it properly as appeals to original verdict, and then tell Nurmi to take his matter to appeals courts.

Wilmott is helping the State more than the DT this morning. Thanks, Jen!
