She has to. She needs to carefully and thoughtfully and thoroughly lay out her reasons and case law why she is denying (or not but...) this motion.

Correction her law clerk has to lol .... Most judges have their law clerks write their opinions but of course the judges revise and review it before issuing it. But the grunt work will be done by her clerk.

Do you guys think KN really believe this B.S. he's spewing, or is he just as slimy and evil as his client?

I think he wants to win this motion. And he's twisting the facts to achieve this result. I hope JSS sees through the fog. :(

No he's just doing his job even as repugnant as he sounds and looks doing it. He doesn't believe half the BS he spews in court I'm sure.

State v Jodi Arias: Oral argument has ended. Judge Stephens is taking motions under advisement.

OK....Back to the "Magic 8 Ball"

I don't think Nurmi believes it even as he says it. But he is anti DP and let's face it, no defense attorney wants his client to get DP. I think he is just going for broke, i.e., dismiss conviction as well, because he has an opportunity to spew so, hey, why not.

So, I get it now.......

I'm not overweight, or fat - I have height issues :hilarious:
It means my body has a fear of heights - that's all :great:

 Exactly. My mom always says she is not overweight, she is underheight.

:giggle:

No. I don't do criminal defense, except at the appellate level.

I've always wanted to ask what your speciality was. :happydance:

OK I have a question. If Jodi gets the DP and of course there is an automatic appeal, if that gets denied is that it or are the appeals as limitless as the delays in this trial? Or do they just change the reason for appeal in order to appeal again?

  • #1,290
Lol, she changed it to cougarluscious. That's probably what she was initially going for with cougarloucious.

Goodness, HOW many people needed to tell her she spelled it wrong?

I guess it finally sunk in. Thanks Juan!

Jodi must be seething!

Trial court judges in AZ do not have law clerks.

There will be several different types of appeals to different courts, but no, you can't just appeal one issue at a time. It will still take years, though.

Just read the posts from Beth Karas. They are in depth. It seems the tweeters like Monica, WAT and others, miss a lot. Nurmi bought up the Milke case no less than three times. And regardless of how we all feel about Nurmi, his closing wasn't bad. We just got snippets here. He didn't sound like the idiot he does when reading here. Of course, Jodi is his client so that makes everything he says suspect. Hope JSS issues her ruling overnight. She said she was taking it under advisement.

I think she gets one paid for by the taxpayers of Az, then she's on her own, that is why her parents did the begamerical and Jodi's pleas for money.

Thank you for answering all our questions. You being here as the voice of reason when we get all crazy cuz of Nurmi's antics. I really appreciate your knowledge, so thank you.

The State Bar will not let us say that we have a "specialty" unless we have a specialist certification from the Bar in that area. And there are only a handful of areas for which they offer certification.

My "concentrations," therefore, are appeals (all types) and civil litigation.

Exactly. This is exactly what Defense Attorneys do.
