Sorry about your day. It was frustrating here to say the least. What are your thoughts on the happenings today in court ?

Wow. If this trial were a TV show, I'd be yelling at the TV because it's such an unrealistic portrayal of the legal system.

I've caught up with most of the reading here but still cannot figure out why trial is not taking place tomorrow. What happened?

I'm trying to remember some of the legal questions I saw as I was speeding through the threads.

E.g., why might a juror be excused/dismissed? There are a hundred possible reasons, but coming right after juror questions there's a good possibility that she asked something that suggested she knew something she wasn't supposed to know. Maybe something about the BN hearing, for example.

Oh! And the "what's wrong with the judge" question.

There's no good answer for that one. It's fine to wait for an attorney objection before stepping in to help out...but when the witness is just showing blatant disrespect for the process, IMO the judge has to do something.

I just posted on the sidebar that I read Nurmi was trying to get BN for tomorrow, but he is busy. Guess he has no one at this point.

BN for trial tomorrow? I thought BN was supposed to show up for a hearing or argument on Thursday. This is hopelessly confusing, but thanks for the info. Ricki.

I don't know how much you parsed, but if you thought you'd seen everything you were definitely wrong. Dr F kept whining to JSS while ignoring question after question, then switched over to instructing the jury to disregard Juan's questions and just trust her because after all she is an expert. Then she mixed in a few instances of admonishing Juan for badgering her. It was unfreakingbelievable.

He is suppose to come back Thursday. I wonder if he ever turned over the hard drive

But she didn't. And her lack of involvement must make sense in her own mind. So, what is your guess about her rationale?

I don't know what happened, but, it seems that BN will be back with the harddrives Thursday/Friday.

My gut tells me the next witness will be JA, but, they need to figure out this hard drive kerfuffle first.

Oh yeah I forgot one. Juan showed her a portion of a transcript of her earlier testimony and she refused to accept it as valid, saying it was a mischaracterization. Or something. It was ludicrous.

Great, I guess they didn't believe me. :sigh: Should I turn myself in or head for the Canadian border? :escape:

Come on up, I've got lots of great booze!

She also told the jury Martinez has a memory problem.

I am so stunned about the total lack of respect this sexpert had for the State of AZ in the United States of America. She basically gave a big FU to JM and JSS. And Nurmi's behavior is not much better. Slouching in his chair and never standing up when objecting. Miss Manners would not be pleased. Don't they teach manners is non Accredited schools. Both of them should be ashamed of themselves.

I just can't anymore. I mean, what was her rationale for letting JA testify in secret? Did that make sense in her own mind? If so, then her mind and mine are very different and I am not qualified to speculate on the inner workings of her mind.

She also told the jury Martinez has a memory problem.

And she said something about mis characterizing her testimony is the only game play he knows. Then told him he was going down slime highway. Then when he asked her to repeat something she just said 5 minutes earlier, she looked at him and said "huh?" Best witness for the prosecution ever. Not one person on that jury takes her seriously.

I wonder why a juror question was something along of the lines of Dr. F not having all the information she needed to testify?
It seems as though at least one of the jurors believed in what she was saying, and not impressed by Juan; or is it because she could not directly answer Juan's questions... IDK, just seemed like an odd question.

I think she said something like she did not see her signature on it, so she did not know if she said it. Obviously she knew she was giving him a hard time. Wonder what the jury thinks of her stupidity.
