And I was happy there were no cameras UNTIL NOW. I would LOVE to see Juan rip this 'witness' a new one. :pillowfight:

Hey, I'm doubting if he'll even be called. Seems JM is having trouble getting an interview with the guy and if no interview, no witness. And I KNOW the defense does not was this guy interviewed.

Oh oh oh I have a bad feeling. Im all for everyone deserving a defense, but to just out and out lie and cheat and try to get someone on the jury that will lie and not truly do their sworn job? That is wrong and makes our justice system a farce. I'm sick to my heart and stomach. To twist our justice system and make a mockery of it, especially when you are a lawyer, it's heartbreaking. I didn't like Willmot and Nurmi before this, most because they felt no remorse or guilt over spreading lies about TA, but to taint the jury just makes me sick. Oh I hope they aren't trying to do this. I think we are the greatest country in the world, and I like to think we are fair and that we bend over backwards to make sure that justice can be fairly served, and it breaks my hear to think that there are people out there that will rape and murder that system. I know this doesn't really make sense, but this makes me sick. It just seems to be about winning and not about right or wrong. I believe in Karma, and I really hope that Karma has her way.

Have faith, Juan should be able to identify any stealth jurors and weed them out.

What about the foreman from the last trial. I read an interview his son did and he said that his dad was against the death penalty and always was. He made it in there and he seems to be the one that hung the last jury. If someone is a good liar they may make it through. This is the weirdest trial I've heard of. It seems that JA has a murderous stare like a cobra has and hypnotizes people….. We need a Rikki Tikki Tava!

Jurors voicing opinions of psychologists reminds me of Dr. Richard Samuels. Defense will be wanting a do over but it is too late to retest with a new psychologist. PTSD and dissociative amnesia now, caused by events (totally within her own control) in 2008? If those conditions were ever credibly diagnosed, they don't pass the sneer test now. The testimony was a disaster last year. The testing procedures could be corrected; it's simply too late. Their one advantageous factor was that Samuels administered them close in time to the crime. As for myself, I am unmoved by any stress Arias may have caused herself & I don't particularly care whether it affected her recall of what she did since she would have lied about those memories, anyway.

None the less, I expect the defense and Arias to produce some expert to show how she was affected by the June 4 murder and how that caused her to behave in deception & manipulation. If you run over somebody and then hide your car, so what?! It does not mitigate your offense.

As time drags on, Nurmi and Willmott have less and less to work with. It's like they're begrudgingly playing Musical Chairs In Hell. Jodi keeps yanking chairs away, but Nurmi and Willmott have to keep playing. Soon Willmott will be on Nurmi's lap. Or maybe vice-versa, since Nurmi showed up for the party all lean and mean. Inevitably they'll be sitting on the floor, crying over their lost credibility.

Samuels may have done his testing relatively soon after Jodi murdered Travis, but, as we know, Juan gently and patiently coaxed him into admitting that he may have made a couple little oopsies that could theoretically have had some slight but insignificant effect on his results. One thing that he was able to show, inadvertently, was that Jodi is a liar. Oh wait, we already knew that.

Jodi's memory is actually pretty interesting. It goes goes on and off like her underwear. She can remember how she felt when she was doing things she can't remember doing. When she can remember something, she adds all sorts of absurdly irrelevant details... like, oh, say, telling Det. Flores that she used her right foot when she kicked the poor dog her family kept chained up in the backyard. Kicking a chained dog is right up there with shooting wolves from a helicopter. Morally repugnant.

Sorry, no citations for any of this. Too tired.

(This may make me sound like a bit of a ghoul, but I wish we had annotated and indexed transcriptions of everything, as well as summaries of the key events in Jodi's sorry life before she took the PPL bait and showed up at the convention.)

But on the happy side, my 70 year old client got it last year and she's back to normal, and my next door neighbor who is 190 years old got it and he's doing great.

Um, what?

Hopefully all of us normal humans are allowed to think her handstand was odd. I've never seen it before. Be curious how many times someone being questioned was caught doing that when left alone.

I really, really hope the interrogation tapes can be admitted. Handstand, rifling through trash can, laughing out loud to her own private jokes, flirting with Det. Flores, looking bored and smug when she's alone, jumping right back into character when either detective entered the interrogation room, weirdly glib chatty-Cathy moments when she veers off topic, providing truckloads of irrelevant and/or unverifiable information (so maybe DF would think she was helpful and co-operative?), etc etc.

Is there a standard line of delineation between what's prejudicial and what isn't?

He certainly was a stealth juror. If he had found a way to have a unanimous verdict of second-degree or less then he would have done it. And he did think that a hung jury at the penalty phase meant that the death penalty was off the table and the Judge would decide the life sentence. He must have been quite smug at the thought of that. Little did he know that there would be another penalty trial. Defending Arias after having had a chance to view all of the evidence = :freakedout: I tell you though, for all his 'compassion', I bet this guy would believe in an 'eye for a eye' if someone....say...even stole his car never mind murdered his loved one in the most heinous way. Empty words.

Sure would appreciate everyone's thoughts and prayers. Had a bad week last week. DH had heart issue and now he is better. I was diagnosed with Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever from a tick bite. Mayo clinic website said death rate is 75 percent during first ten days. I believe God has taken me through that period but I do have some weird symptoms. Apparently this fever can cause encephalitis of the brain, heart and kidney failure.
Anyways, you guys are all wonderful and it has been fun reading all the posts. I know I get too emotional about this trial. And I probably bounce back and forth with my opinions. It is awesome to me that we all put up with each other because we want justice for the victims. WS is great. :)

Sorry to hear this, Curious. I agree with the poster who never heard such a high statistic for a possibility of death. Also agree that the people I know who had this have struggled with exhaustion/energy levels. I deal with chronic fatigue syndrome, so I do understand that part! Don't overdo, that can be a setback. You will have to learn how much you can do in a day without too much trouble, and gradually work yourself back to full form.

Hoping you bounce back quicker than expected.

This is very odd. Interesting #Heinous had to go halfway around the world to find ONE person who would say Travis was a pedophile. And how does this help mitigate what she did? I am confused?

This sounds so strange. What does that even have to do with sentencing, any way? I am confused along with you, Zuri.

Looks like we are going to get a Jury! Let's roll! I bet the killer's ego is busted every time she hears potential jurors say she deserves the death penalty, & they can't be objective, thus dismissed. How debasing, lol!

I can't post his name but there is a twitterer who seems to know who this could be. He has the screen shots of the weirdness this person claims, including that he was a friend of Travis and confronted Travis over pictures he found of children in sexual poses, among other things. Guys, it's BS and if he's called he will be promptly dismantled. This man did not know Travis.

I cant believe the anger I still have inside concerning this one defendant but when I read such nonsense as this it boils to the top again.

To know Travis' character will once again be slaughtered just like she slaughtered his body makes me truly ill.

If this is allowed by JS I will go ballistic. No one should be able to come in and say such despicable things unless they have something concrete to support it. And of course there will be no photos or videos showing this to be true. Just another 'he said.':(

Why is this even being allowed? What does this have to do with Arias slaughtering Travis? Even she said what happened that day was to do with her dropping his camera.

It is so wrong on every level. It shows the deceased victim is just as vulnerable to character assignation in death as they were when viscously murdered based only on words and nothing more.

If he really did any of these things there would have been evidence on his computer or in his home and there is nothing. Travis had no clue he was a dead man walking when he told Arias 'no more' yet not one thing to do with little children posed in a sexual manner was ever found on his computer or in his home. But Arias wanted the last jury to believe that he casually had photos scattered about on his bed for anyone to see. Ugggh that is beyond ridiculous.

To know all of this sickening vile carp is coming once again disturbs me greatly making me realize just how hard it is going to be for me to stomach what is going to be said about this young man.

HOW is this a mitigating factor? Is she simply wanting the jury to believe that Travis was a pedophile (without evidence) and for that he deserved to be slaughtered?

I have never seen a trial like this and I hope to never see one again. Mitigating factors to the DT seems to be retrying the guilt phase. How is that possible? What other defendant does that or DT?

So this will not be about what SHE did when she drove 1000 miles to slaughter Travis for daring to reject her. This is going to be nothing but another round of trashing Travis once again. She will not let this poor man rest in peace even in death which she caused.

She is so wicked and pure evil that she must destroy him in every conceivable way crushing him into the ground even further. Since this is the penalty phase she shouldn't be allowed to do this.

So now all of a sudden 6 years later this guy pops up?

Gah, I hope Juan rips him a new one.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers. Renee, the 75 percent death rating from RMSF is from two sites I trust. Mayoclinic.org and NIH.org. I don't think the Mayo Cliic nor the National institute of Health would publish something wrong. What they said is that most people aren't even aware of a tick bite and the death rate is in the first 7 to ten days because they don't see a doctor thinking they have the flu. RMSF, for anyone interested, is a bacteria that destroys the small blood vessels and makes you bleed internally or forms clots causing kidney failure, heart failure, lung failure or brain encephalitis. the only line of defense is Doxycycline. AND PRAYER.

But Renee, you can test positive but inactive. That means your bodys immune system has already been working to fight it off. Or, as in my case, you can test positive/active, which means it is very current and active. I was bitten in May and have a very weak immune system. So either I have been bitten once again and didn't know it or, God has been with me and is healing me. My faith tells me it is the latter. But please, for the sake of anyone reading this, don't make it sound like a virus. It can take days to years to recover. I am counting days. :).

But I do want folks to be aware this can be most dangerous so they do not ignore symptoms. It is worse than Lyme disease and can also leave long lasting neurological symptoms. Just want people to be aware. Saying there is nothing to it is like the government telling us not to worry about Ebola. I would rather not even post than to minimize what could happen to someone. However, I am believing I will be fine. And you are correct, I am exhausted.

Renee and Spellbound,
I posted a long post about RMSF. It went somewhere in cyberspace. You can check out the death rate yourself at mayoclinic.org or the national institutes of health. I don't have the energy to debate it. Regardless, they caught it right away and God will help me. For the sake of others though, please don't make light of it. It kills. Reminds me of the government saying Ebola isn't a danger to us. Or JA saying she wouldn't harm a fly.

The 75% death rate is for untreated RMSF. It's highly treatable though and with treatment the death rate is 3%. I do know tick bite diseases are nothing to mess with. Just take care of yourself curious.

About that NZ witness. If he is who has been revealed elsewhere, oh please oh please bring him over, in and on the stand.

Having him as a mitigation witness would seal her fate. One example of what he has allegedly said is that Sky and Chris Hughes actually killed Travis, not the inmate.

Lol. I can see her face as the room bursts out laughing at this fellow's testibaloney.

Yeah, I get the DT is desperate but why are they even pursuing this guy, who is a JA supporter that is clearly lying?

It's just speculation at this point. But can't imagine who else from NZ the DT would need. And the internet community seems to know of this guy. The DT has got to learn they don't need to pursue every single lead they're given. OR perhaps this is one of the guys Jodi had her PI go get as a witness and the DT is now dealing with the fallout.

Curious in Indiana.......my heart goes out to you. I am all too familiar with what you're going through. Rest, rest, rest, insist on antibiotics beyond what you're being told is necessary, do your own research, and do NOT take steroids!!

For others, and for the record, RMSF is more deadly than Lyme disease. That's saying a lot. have personally known 7 people who have died from Lyme disease, and am permanently disabled myself from brain damage caused by the disease.

Adding- am posting more on thus in sidebar.

Left untreated or if undertreated, tick borne diseases are SERIOUS and devastating.

MeeBee, yes, you are correct, 75 percent when not treated. The article goes on to say deaths occur during first 7 to 10 days because people do not know they were bitten and do not seek a test for it, thinking they have the flu. Very sad. That's the point I was trying to get across is that if you feel sick and exhausted and have those symptoms of nausea and extreme headaches, see a doctor and get tested because of the high death rate. I certainly had no idea. I mean, who knew?!

Hi Hope, I do not take steroids either. I don't even like taking this antibiotic.
