It's normal everywhere that appeal courts get to decide how quickly they will rule. In this case, though, I expect a ruling this week. JMO



Judges' conferences are always private. Their rulings, of course, are public, except in this trial. And that one court where the NSA goes to get wiretaps retroactively approved.

I think the Judge never fully recovered from the first circus, I think she "walks on eggshells." I think she is on a roller coaster ride that for some reason has her scared or intimidated her and she is just hanging on waiting for the ride to end. I think the fact that a grand jury had to over rule her in the midst of this trial unsettled her further. I have no doubt that she is aware of a lot of the criticism, unless she heeds her own words to ignore media regarding this trial. I think she is lost and overwhelmed. I would hate to be in her shoes. It can get mentally exhausting watching this trial with all of you, but having to be "in charge" of these players - the DT, would be a challenge. I think other judges could have done better, but that is only speculation. MOO

No, she knows better, and if the above were true she would know doing nothing will make it worse, not better. The only justification I can think of, from a professional point of view, is that she wants to truth of the players characters to be on display as well. No one can deny that it is revealing.

I'm starting to wonder if maybe Juan is happy that Dr.F is acting this way. The jury has to think it's disrespectful. Now if Juan starts in on her the jury will think she deserves it.

JM is thrilled IMO. That's why he doesn't object or ask the judge to reprimand her. But the judge ought to do it without being asked. If she doesn't want to do it in front of the jury, she should do it on the break. Like when she asked the witness to make sure not to speak after an objection, she could add, "and also please try to summon up an ounce of respect for the court."

I think she set herself up to be overwhelmed. If she had cracked down and restored order to the court, maybe she wouldn't be so mentally exhausted with the chaos she has enabled. Instead she's battened down the hatches along with the DT like a victim of Stockholm Syndrome.
