Talk to ANY victim of stalking and ask them if it mattered that a confrontation by their ex or ex's partner wasn't violent. It's pure intimidation, manipulation, control, coercion and definitely a potential precursor to violence.

Very interesting especially since every relationship the victim Travis Alexander had was scrutinized to establish a pattern. The pattern of relationships the murderer had would be MORE important, IMO. Or at least as worthy of scrutiny.
