I wonder how much the state of Arizona will be contributing to this <modsnip> retirement fund.

Just my opinion, but AZ is apparently willing to spend to assure the DP. That's why we are seeing a retrial. I think it's a waste of money, but that is the procedure. JMO

OK, maybe this is why TA's family looked angry? Imagine JSS told them all that in chambers, so may have had nothing to do with the excused juror.

Good thinking. Considering none live locally, they all have to pay travel expenses on top of lost wages. I find it galling that this trial is allowed to creep along at a snail's pace - not only for the family, but for the jurors as well. The time and expense both to the family and the jurors is treated far too cavalierly.

Az,boyn or gatana what would happen if God forbid something happened to a judge in the middle of a trial? Wouldn't the case just be transferred immediately to another judge without a break in trial?

Let us not forget that Juan destroyed her credibility last time she was up, and impeached her, twisted her to the point that she was helping the state, she probably spent Thanksgiving reading transcripts of what an idiot she sounded like. Now, she is giving the silent treatment because she is livid he "won" last go around. She's way too hung up on the "Juan misrepresents my testimony" crap.Her only strategy to self preserve is doing what she is doing, "if i do not say anything he cannot get me" moo. She's a nut.

I'm surprised she didn't hold her breath until she turned blue or put her fingers in her ears and chanted "la la la I can't hear you."

After the hung jury, Wendy Murphy wrote a letter to Juan Martinez. She talked about defense attorneys sometimes purposely setting up appeal issues later on by "throwing" the mitigation case and not calling certain witnesses or not calling anyone. She said a remedy for that was for Juan to call the witnesses himself. I still remember this article. I wonder if Juan finally went that route? What an awesome plan of action.
