I always feel for Andrea Yates. Now there was a very ill woman. I often wonder how she copes with knowing what she did, or if she even has realised fully what she did.

I couldn't give the DP to a person like Yates. Arias, on the other hand? She deserves it as much as anyone ever has.

Even if she is currently depressed, suicidal, anxious, and is no longer aggressive - still doesn't negate that she murdered Travis in an especially heinous fashion.

I don't see this as a defense even with the dissociation because she was not actively psychotic (ie: The woman who killed her 5 kids because the voices told her to do so).

IMO she is NONE of those things. Her little phone call with Lisa S + Cha Cha she was the same ole JA. Talking a mile a minute. She is still very much the running that courtroom.
Her games about going pro se, no never mind I have changed my mind. Another 12 page letter to get KN off her case. She would love to have a new attorney so she could drag this thing out another 7 years.

G's attempt to paint JA as shrinking violet will backfire....as I think now Juan has ability to bring in her past behaviors and words....hope hope.

OK...to summarize: she's passive, avoids conflict, is extremely suicidal, anxious & depressed, has a coping disorder, isn't verbally aggressive, isn't manipulative, is a pleaser, doesn't play victim, feels normal levels of anger, and has lower then normal levels of hostility and expressions of physical aggression.

A replay of TA's slit throat should dispel some of this pixie dust fog.

I was just thinking about the above when I scrolled & saw these. Juan has just been given reasons to call about 500 witnesses to the stand to demonstrate why this guy's results are off the wall bad. Just think of all the stories they can tell, now that hearsay is off the table...

BBM That's actually a brilliant idea, JM should play the clips of all her taped calls... the one with TA, both before and after she murdered him, the one with the reporter setting up her exclusive first interview after her conviction, etc etc. She is obviously the one in control in all of them.

If JSS is not able to fully comprehend all of the technical info regarding the images, deleted files, etc., doesn't she have the option of hiring a consultant/expert for the court to review and assist her to further understand and perhaps uncover all of the shenanigans by the DT?

Found a minute entry date 11/13/2009 that says:

Argument is heard on Defendant’s Request for Additional Discovery Relating to any and
all Forensic Examinations Conducted upon any and all Electronic Media.

Based on the arguments presented,

IT IS ORDERED that the State shall disclose on or before November 20, 2009, a mirror
image of the hard drive (internal, external and storage device) and the memory card(s) from the
cellular phone(s).

Haven't found anything yet that explains why a 2nd image copy was made Dec.2009 though...

If she were mentally ill like Andrea Yates (i.e. not knowing what she did was wrong and verified as suffering from psychosis, which is a legal defense) that would be a mitigating factor. Arias knew right from wrong so there's goes that theory. She was able to plan and carry out an elaborate series of actions, all done to affect her murdering Travis. She drove to her "abuser" and there's no proof she was invited there and in fact she took great pains to hide the fact she was in AZ. There goes that theory.

Her only mitigators are no prior felonies, 1 adult victim, no others killed. And of those, AZ may only recognize the no prior felonies, not sure.

Because at the time, the (current) DT didn't know that creating a new "2009" image of the hard drive would result in something different than the 2008 image created by the prosecution. But it did, because the hard drive had been altered (although probably not in any relevant way) during the 2009 meeting with the (former) defense team to review the evidence.

And how is that the State's fault? Apollies if asked and answered.
