Is jss going to even let Juan put on a rebuttal case, or rule it too prejudicial towards arias?

My question exactly. Just how much can JM do with what he's got to deal with now? Can he just start bringing in new witnesses like Deanna? She wasn't on his original list was she? You know the DT will throw a complete fit if he tries and there will be motions and delays once again if he tries to bring on any new witnesses, if that is allowed at all. Looks like anything goes to try to spare a life in a mitigating phase. But I think the rebuttal will be contained in a big way with objection over objection, too prejudicial etc etc. I hope I'm wrong though.

I'm going to try and look at it this way- With this manufactured (we all know it is- let's hope the jury does too) she will have nothing on appeal. She will have had plenty of mitigation witnesses and testimony now. I can live with that. Juan will wipe up the floor with these affidavits and wipe that smile right off Geffners idiotic face.

FICTIONAL: as written by me, not fictional as written by New Zealand boy:

Witness #326: I was sitting at a table in a restaurant somewhere in Arizona or California, I don’t remember for sure. It was either Sumer of 2007, maybe Fall, could have been winter 2008. I remember it clearly. I recognized Travis from a PPL video my great uncle played for me back in 2004.

Travis and Jodi came into the restaurant and when they were seated, Travis intentionally pulled out the chair causing Jodi to fall on the floor. He laughed and everybody looked. I know now it was Jodi because Travis said, “Get it through your *&^*&^ brain, Jodi, that I’m not going to hold your chair out for you, I’m not your *&^*^&*^ servant. Grow up and quit *****in! When the waitress came to take their order, she asked if Jodi was alright and Travis told her to “butt out, it’s none of your *&^*&^* business, you no good waitress!”

Travis ordered first, a really big meal with several appetizers including a vegetable wrap and fried shrimp, and a drink of some kind with no ice. He didn’t give Jodi a chance to order and told the waitress that “fatso didn’t deserve a meal because even a 5 year old can sit in a chair without falling out!”

He ate in front of her and she was trying real hard not to cry, I could tell. When Travis noticed me paying attention to Jodi, he challenged me to a “duel to the death” in the parking lot, promising or rather threatening to beat me to an unrecognizable pulp. I thought about calling the police but decided it was best to just leave. Obviously he was a habitual abuser and Jodi just took it like all battered women do.

The dude scared me, though, because he was serious about wanting to beat me down. He had a crazed look in his eyes, capable of anything, and I always wondered what happened to Jodi, like if he eventually killed her, raped her, maimed her, because that’s always the progression DV takes.

Oooooh, can you mail me a couple? I need them desperately...you know to get me through this freak show circus trial.

Note to self: this trial while it has similarities to the current season would not make for a good premise on the next season of American Horror Story

And Then he left a copy of his photo id, a business card and his bishops phone number. That's how I knew who he was

You this this is bad? After the verdict, we get to actually view this mess.

I'm actually going to endure it. I hate not hearing/seeing things in context. It's too subjective.

  • #1,366
Especially when there are 1 hour sidebars. I gotta give it to the DT, at least they were able to produce affidavits.

Do the taxpayers have to pay for MDLR's treatment for writer's cramp?

  • #1,367
How do we know that Nurmi didn't just write up this affidavit himself ? How would anybody know ?

:seeya: Yes, he could have ... but I think Jodi herself wrote them, as she seems to have her paw-prints on everything else in this Re-Trial.

My feelings go out Deanna tonight. I know you and JM will sit the story right.

  • #1,369
... and he will need to. I have relatives in New Zealand (no! that's not a threat!). The Kiwis are a very unique people and he is correct in his concern about repercussions when his lies come to be known there. IMO!

Thanks, Nosey. I was alluding to his love of conspiracy theories.

At least I understand why JM was MAD.... I sure can't wait until cross.... One thing I have learned is never get JM mad....

I'm waiting for him to say that he was actually with Arias on June 4, 2008 and saw Travis body slam Arias. What a tool.

Understatement of the day. (Where I come from it's "what a knob.")

Thats not funny....Oh YES IT IS. Thanks for the laugh. I needed it.

Can I be the first? Jss is just letting the dt enough rope to hang themselves, and appeals.

Brilliant!

At this point I don't know whether to laugh or to cry at the absurdity of it all though. :dunno:

I believe, and we can ask AZL about this, that because JA is claiming abuse by family and bf's that the judge has to allow these affidavits in when they are addressing these issues. Affidavits are sworn statements.

Agree, DGC. It went from he and TA having a discussion about 🤬🤬🤬🤬 in the car (which, although I don't believe it for a second, could be believable), to something entirely different and unbelievable. That SCREAMS JA to me.

I feel so sorry for Travis's brothers and sisters and others who love him. Here's what I was thinking: Could you imagine what would have happened in the Treyvon Martin trial if three-fourths of the testimony was about what a bad person Treyvon was? What if the defense had pulled out every one of his bad tweets, emails, and text messages? What if they found every person who went to school with him with whom he had an argument and everybody in the community with whom he had disagreements and let them tell about what a bad person he was? I got to thinking back to other trials I have watched. I don't think one negative thing was said about Laci Peterson, Kathleen Peterson, Michelle Young, Mabel Greineder, Rabbi Neulander's wife, etc. I cannot believe how Judge Stephens has let this entire trial be an assassination of Travis's character. I have no respect for JSS, KN, or JW. To me, it's as if all three of them keep stabbing Travis time and time again. Everybody seems to have forgotten that Travis is the victim! Jodi is the one who murdered him! I just hope Juan is good when he gets to question Geffner and others.

This is exactly my fear too. We have seen it already. Whenever it is finally Juan's turn, then somehow Juan doesnt get a turn.

I am really afraid Juan wont be able to address the truth. If he tries to call anyone to talk about those affidativs then the DT will object and say the person has no basis to comment. And the objection will be sustained.

But for some reason JSS allowed Geff to comment on them. Oh wait. That is different because we dont want any appeals now do we. This is sickening to witness.

DeMarte isn't the end all and be all. She is great but she may not relate to the jurors. JM needs to bring in real people who knew Travis.

:seeya: Thank You, Curious, for pointing this out. I was thinking something along these lines, but did not know HOW to state it, and you did !

Yes, you hit the nail on the head here: This jury needs to see and hear from REAL people who knew Travis so they can put an end to all the LIES !

The VIS Statements were made 3 months ago :gaah: !

I sure hope Juan can bring these witnesses in.
