Retrial for Sentencing of Jodi Arias - Day 27

It just occurred to me that maybe she WANTS to be given the DP. More chances of that appeal that in her mind is going to set her free altogether. And this trial can be dedicated solely to trashing Travis and hurting everyone on her most hated list.

her only motive to want the DP at this point is to continue appeal efforts at the expense of the people of AZ. Seriously doubt she or anyone in her camp believe she can raise enough $ to fund an appeal if she gets LWOP.

Best part was that it was much more than a "hug" apparently and she neglected to put that part down. Which is what Abe should be able to testify to but since it's only whether the email was sent, rather than it's content, that is in question with regards to Abe, he will not be able to. :(

MOO

BBM

Unless if by hug, she means his hand hugging something inside her pants...

It's a shame that Juan did not put more of TA's friends on the stand during the first trial so the jury could have heard the Jodi stories we heard on HLN. You remember the blonde girl with the long hair (name escapes me) who said Jodi confronted her in the bathroom about her relationship with Travis. The girl was only a friend of TA's and felt like Jodi was very confrontational. Another friend came into the bathroom and "broke up" the conversation.

Following this trial has been very bad for me. To accept that this judge has openly violated the Constitution in favor of a convicted murderer is way beyond my coping skills. I will never see the criminal justice system the same way again. And knowing the defense could buy an expert at the right price to say anything they wanted has broken my heart. I think those experts should also be on trial. I can't imagine what this is doing to Travis's friends and family, those who really knew him. At this point I even believe Juan Martinez has lost some of his fire. He knows she will serve prison time, one way or the other. But it isn't the same. In this way, Jodi has won...before its even over.

This retrial has sucked so much. But to be honest, I'm still very glad we got the GUILTY verdict. JA hasn't won and never will.
But I understand how you're feeling but through this all, I focus on her being found "Guilty" because I was here for Casey Anthony's "Not guilty" and there is nothing more horrible than that.

Clancy Tablot. She was the drunk woman on "hanging " onto Travis, and didn't like it,

Anyone else hoping he will have a couple of "strike that from the record"...oops my bad moments? ;) And...a motion for mistrial submitted by Nurmi.

Speaking of that, didn't our WS poster who was in the courtroom yesterday say that the Geff said MM's name twice by accident in court? How is it possible that not one person tweeted that? How does that play out with that last motion? I hope if it's true JM is using that in his response.

MOO
That was me. Geff did slip up and say his first name, but corrected himself and said witness 1. At this point the jury doesn't know what we do so it was a harmless error.

Sitting and waiting. BK sitting here next to me typing away on her computer. I had stuff to do this am but made it for afternoon and brought iPad. Free wifi. This courthouse rocks.

I just had some freshly squeezed ginger juice. You know, to deal with the Defense-induced nausea that I've been dealing with for months. I'm good now! :giggle:

IMO, with regard to what Abe will be able to say:

- It shows she was comfortable sexually. She acts like she was so taken advantage of by Travis and used sexually and she was uncomfortable with how sexual he was with her. Yet with Abe she's pushing him against cars and grinding on him? It's inconsistent with the picture they've painted of Jodi.

- It shows she wasn't actually serious about Mormonism but only with making Travis think she was serious about Mormonism. Travis wasn't the only bad Mormon here.

It's probably not super important but it would go a long way of painting a better picture of Jodi. The letter doesn't seem to be enough to me because the defense is just going to say she was so scared of his jealous wrath that she penned a fake letter to him to put his mind at ease.

But showing the jury she was manipulative in how she presented herself to the jury will give a full picture.

The grinding and magic underwear comments will also go further to CMJA's manipulation of TA as she promised she was only friends with Abe yet she was flirty and sexual with him. She lied (aka manipulated) to TA through the faked email to Abe in more ways than just by saying she sent an email she didn't actually send.

JA had just lost her house when she moved to Mesa, i.e. she was homeless. Whatever work she did in Mesa, including with PPL wasn't even enough to prevent her Infiniti from being repossessed. Abe said he talked to JA every mo. or two, so I wish he could testify to why she wasn't successful with PPL. Ditto why she got fired from Mimi's Cafe. My guess, stalking Travis there was a 24/7 obsession.
We haven't heard that she sold anything for PPL. I think she got into it and did no selling. She put in no effort, only into hooking Travis and going to conventions and trips with him.
With Mimi's, she actually did have to do waitressing. I've heard 2 reasons she got fired:1) customer complaints, 2) she stole muffins and ate them without paying for them.

I do wonder though how Angela Simpson did NOT get the death penalty. I mean, what the hell? Kinda thinking right now that if she didn't get the DP, I can't see JA get it either.. I mean, WTH?

If JA chooses to do her allocution in front of the media and spectators in the court, what is stopping her from getting on the stand and finishing her testimony. Oh ya, Juan can cross her. Clearly, she is not afraid of the media. Just a big glaring excuse to avoid the man that scrambles her brain.

She went to Utah to grind a man that she met once and wouldn't take the time the go see her.

As society coarsens, words like "promiscuous" and phrases such as "ill repute" seem to be fading from the lexicon.

They're being replaced with phrases like "hooking up", "making babies", "hitting that", "'doing' so-and-so", etc.

Gimme the good ol' days.

Growing late across the pond...
Which is another tick in the box for the argument to publicize trials over here. We'd be less cranky than having to stay up til 3am following a trial halfway across the world. ;)
