In reality, new information and treatments come so fast and furious in the health sciences, that the young teach the old.

Immature Nurmi, kind of like you... your client, your co-counsel and your mitigation specialist.

DeMarte says she prefers "psychological disorder" to "mental illness."

Nurmi says, "You understand, I don't care about your preferences..."

Dr. DeMarte answering question: "I think..."
#jodiarias atty. Nurmi: "You understand I don't care what you think."
Prosecutor: "Objection!"

he might not but the jury will and does. That is what they'll based their opinions on.

how is this going to help Jodi?

does anyone know, will JM get a chance to question Dr. D again, after Nurmi is done?

I think he will because this is prosecution phase and she is a prosecution witness. Nurmi will get in that she is mentally ill but I imagine this will open the door for other things like psychotic tendencies to be brought in. I'm no expert....lol...but I did stay at a holiday inn a few times.

I wish Dr. D would answer each of LKN's questions, "Why yes/no, but BPD's are quite capable of premeditating and carrying out especially cruel murders, just like most everyone else. However, while they understand that it's wrong, they typically feel and show absolutely no remorse."

IN Pa BPD changed to serious MH dx ( SMI) within the last 9 months...This allows borderlines to receive sttae paid case mangement services...IMO anyone I speak with, including myself, who gets a BPD dx person..first sighs sighs and says Oh crap...get ready for the roller coaster ..Definitely a big need to set boundaries and limits or they will drain one emotionally

This isn't helping JA but it's making Nurmi feel like he's on par with Juan for the moment. When the defense has nothing, they have to resort to showboating and trying to be like Juan even though it becomes an epic fail.

MOO

I thought it was a motion sensor light that went on and off. :waitasec:

What I would have liked to have known about that story is how the heck did Travis get rid of her if he found her when investigating the light situation. She would not just go away quietly, so what were the details of THAT part of the story? that's what I wonder.

  • #315
I think he's exaggerating what she said exactly.

BK:

N: you have control over your notes. You wrote twice it was a mental illness. DM: I don't remember that.

DM..agrees that BPD is a serious mental illness.

ESPECIALLY THAT MITIGATION SPECIALIST. I might move to Arizona, heck I could be a mitigation specialist and I would be better than MDLR. And I know how to dress. :)

Dr D has already admitted on the stand previously that childhood trauma, abuse or neglect CAN cause BPD. This is nothing new. Nurmi isn't "getting her to admit something"- Juan had already elicited this answer from her.

Hmm a trigger I guess we could pick one out of Jodi's family moving twice, two siblings joining the family when Jodi was eleven, and the wooden spoon making it's appearance at age seven.

Curious! The Holiday Inn visit makes you as qualified as Laviolette and Fonseca! Quick, put in on your CV! LOL!

Yeah, but according to people who have known her all her life, she had NONE of those.
