The Helio. I bet JM says to the jury that the DT's psych experts relied on her word (lies), improperly administered tests (useless) and fatally, on plucking great meaning and inferences from texts and emails that may well have been manufactured by the killer.

I hope it was made clear to the jury yesterday that the affidavit on the screen re the missing phone was from JA's Aunt Sue.

Just getting my seat and getting settled. There's plenty of room for all of us WS'rs right here but the view is really crappy. (dusts off the seats left and right) C'mon in guys - the weather is fine.

Does anyone else have to potty frequently when they are anxious?

I'm already working off the snacks I'm sure to have for the rest of the day.

Justice for Travis and peace for the Alexander family.

AZL- any guesses about Nurmi's motion yesterday to keep JM from arguing another aggravating factor? As in- what is Nurmi anticipating JM will argue?

He could be trying to ban the words "heinous," "cold," "calculating," etc.

To make it into a general question, how much do the sides share about what they plan to cover in closing? I would think it's nothing, meaning KN's motion is just a generic CYA thing. But then again, what was the pile of junk they gave Juan yesterday?

The late piece from Witness #1's secret mom means that in closing the DT will claim it proves that the Bishop was lying as part of a Mormon cover-up to protect a Mormon who was an abusive child pornographer. That should work ... NOT!

They don't share closing arguments, but obviously they both have a pretty good idea where the other side has been going, especially in a retrial.

Since, there's usually no court on Friday, will jurors be deliberating if everything's done by Thursday?

They can, yes. The judge and staff will be there dealing with other cases.

Must the allocution come before closing arguments? So if JA doesn't do this before the DT starts their arguments, is it over in terms of her chances? Or can she decide at any time, even after all closing arguments (PT and DT) have finished?

IIRC and per BK, once closing arguments commence, JA will not have the opportunity to allocute.

True, but in reality if Jodi jumps up after closings and says WAIT I want to say something, she can give her allocution then and the attys will be allowed little mini follow-up closings.

and I hope the jury thinks it odd that JA's aunt turned the phone over to the defense, and not the police or the prosecutor. Hmm...if her aunt "found" a simple phone years later, why would it even occur to her that it was something that needed to be turned over any way. Another introduced piece of evidence, IMHO, that was intended to prove JA isn't actually a liar but backfired and makes her look like a manipulative liar

We are getting close here in #jodiarias - Nurmi gave me a nice "morning" nod and held the door for me

No media speculation about whether or not JA will change her mind and allocute....hmm.

Thank you for posting the link to the Order re prosecutorial misconduct. It was very interesting to read and, again, makes one realize how much we are missing via tweets :(

Yes.

“So in other words, if this now is talkingabout the choking and killing, she’s just a little bit upset, right?” The defendant’s objection was overruled. Dr. Geffner testified: “No. For whatever the hypothetical question was now it is not bothering her as much. If upset was the term, it’s not bothering her as much now in jail than it did.”

via Tweet:
"Geff says no."

Is that significant? LOL

I just don't understand why after she was given the chance yesterday, that she could possibly stand up and talk today. Good Lord.

They'd better be deliberating on Friday, otherwise MDLR will get paid for another month.

Is this the right trial?

Was under the impression it was supposed to be the mitigation portion of a penalty phase retrial of an especially cruel torture murderer, but it looks more like the posthumous trial of a murder victim falsely accused of pedophilia.

Present. But barely. I was up all night long with a teething infant. I'm tired and exhausted but I will be damned if I will miss the conclusion of this case that I have been following since the beginning. I would just like to say that it's been an honor to follow this case with y'all. I have loved seeing all the different viewpoints from everyone.

I've followed this case for a number of reasons. For one I have high school friends who were friends with Travis and they have said he was quite a lovely man. And also because In many ways Travis and I were dealt the same hand in life. We both grew up in Riverside county, we were both born to parents with drug addictions, and both were raised by amazing grandparents. The only difference is that I never met a toxic spawn of the devil for a possible life mate and I was able to go on living and completing my life goals like college etc. So today even though I'm tired and exhausted I will hug my daughter a little tighter knowing I got the chance to have a daughter that Travis never did.

I'm so happy for the Alexanders that this saga is almost done.

Ok now let's get'r done and finish this thing that was started!!!!! Go Juan!!!
